Another option is Preece Nutrition, lovely guy running that and similarly priced. Very knowledgeable

Yes life, 171 lbs. I'm just over 5 foot. (I thought I was taller, at least 5"1, 5"2, but I got measured when I had my op, so I know exactly how tall I am now, was a bit sad actually Grin). I can eat really well, but I'm really rubbish at times and if I don't have enough carbs, I feel faint. So it is really restrictive, isn't it? Like there is no room for error!
happier, I think I will give rh a go, I will look at facebook a bit more, then decide.
Thank you both.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/11/2019 12:35

Thank you too not.
I thought it was low but then I thought well I am overweight, actually obese, so that's way the calories are so low.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/11/2019 13:07

Great advice from not there.
Mfp is known for setting really low calorie. It works for some but most just end up having a binge add it's to restrictive. Then it's that binge / failure cycle.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/11/2019 13:32

Exactly life. This is the first time in my life, since having children that I've managed to lose weight and keep it off.
I tried lots of diets before, but would end up binging because I was so hungry!
So I decided to eat better, with more veg on my plate, went vegan because of health issues, did C25K, lost some weight.
But now I'm kind of stuck, my weight has kind of levelled and I want to lose more, I'm not really gaining, but not losing either.
I know I can't do any exercise for a bit, but I can log everything else.
I think I will give not's approach a go until Christmas and then decide on a plan.
You are all so knowledgeable x

Not2bObvious · 24/11/2019 14:27

Exercise really honestly & truly doesn’t have to be hardcore. A walk, even walking on the spot while watching a program counts towards to activity, try think gentle activity rather than vigorous exercise. Anytime you’re up and off your ass you’re burning more calories than before (she says lying in her bed haha)
I’m sure you’ll do super, we’re all here cheering you on!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/11/2019 15:07

Aww thanks not, I do manage 10,000 and usually over Mon-Fri.
I'm beginning to feel a little better and ha e done some housework today, I may do some gentle yoga tonight or tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/11/2019 15:09

I agree re exercise. I get mine by walking as much as possible. I do weights 3-4 times a week but built up to that.
Yoga will be good too.

Happierwithouthim · 24/11/2019 17:56

Curvy I'm classed as obese too & anyone that knows me in real life would say that's ridiculous sure you're grand, I don't even look or feel fat I'm just overweight

I've started listening to Paul Dermodys podcasts & he speaks a lot of sense. One thing in his podcast I listened to Friday night was food is always going to be there

You want something you can stick to & is a lifestyle change not a diet

Not2bObvious · 24/11/2019 18:02

I remember going from obese to overweight in about 2lb! Bloody ridiculous measure really

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 24/11/2019 19:50

I think the focus is more on waist measurement now than bmi

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/11/2019 21:23

Can totally sympathise with you wolf!
I've also been told, 'you carry your weight well'. My bmi is 32.9 for me to be in the 'safe zone' I need to get down to 9 stone. Everyone says how can you be obese if you are fitting in size 12-14!
(I still have to get some things in a 16)
I may listen to that podcast.

Totally agree that the bmi system is rubbish really!
Yes happier I think they are trying to move away from bmi because it is so rigid.
I mean someone could be the same height as me, but be all toned with very little body fat and still be classed as obese!

I definitely have too much body fat!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/11/2019 21:25

Sorry, happier, don't know how wolf got there!

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/11/2019 07:58

125.5 ok with that after Saturday. About 150 over yesterday but guestimate my roast dinner

Not2bObvious · 25/11/2019 08:05

Well over yesterday as we had a Chinese in the evening as lunch wasn’t satisfying, lesson learned there!
No weigh in this morning, couldn’t face it. So I think I’m down to maybe 5 days left where I can go over until Christmas week having used up 2 last week.
That’s a brilliant Monday weigh in life

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 25/11/2019 19:59

I’m not having a good diet day. Went over by nearly 500 and only just hit 10,000 steps. I think avoiding the scales this morning just set me off on a f* it tangent. I did eat my planned meals but was also terribly picky and gluttonous as well as the day wore on. I’ve been craving cream cakes for weeks, let’s just say I scratched that itch! I’m really hoping I can get back on track tomorrow without too much difficulty. Going to double my breakfast, so 2 eggs/2 wholemeal toast to keep me full til lunch, homemade soup & sambo, then lean bolognese. That’ll leave me room for a night time snack. I can’t undo today but I can plan better for tomorrow

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 25/11/2019 20:32

Indeed not. Was it worth the calories?
In doing ok today all hit but could eat more. Always can though

Not2bObvious · 25/11/2019 20:43

The cake was worth it, but if I hadn’t have picked so much throughout the day, I’d probably have fitted it in. Just found myself hungry & grazing, and the more I grazed the sadder I got and the more I wanted. A hot bath cured me in the end. Oh you live & learn

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 25/11/2019 20:46

Yesterday I tweaked mfp to give me more calories, so I now feel more in control.
I hit my protein, fibre and crabs yesterday, I don't think that has happened before!
Hit my fibre and protein today.
Steps today 15478.
Food today was all within cals and I feel satisfied.
Weight was the same as yesterday.
I'm really tired, have a migraine coming so getting an early night. I'm also in a meeting tomorrow, so need to be on the ball!

Not, draw a line under it, tomorrow is a new day.

Not2bObvious · 25/11/2019 21:01

Well done curvy! You sound like you did brilliant, I hope the early night staves off the migraine. Thanks very much, line firmly drawn, feel better for getting it out.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/11/2019 06:52

Sorry not went straight to bed.
It's all down to all of you and giving me such great advice!
Glad you feel better!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/11/2019 07:03

Today is a new day not. You still have room for one day off plan per week in your goal.

Well done curvy. Hope the migraine didn't hit.
Down today. Steps might be a challenge as not working todaybut will do fbw at lunch

Not2bObvious · 26/11/2019 07:35

Up at 5.10am, on treadmill jogging for 30 mins. Decided to make an omelette for breakfast with 1 toast so protein was increased to 30gr, and cals a bit less. Scales still at high Saturday weight but a bit sluggish. Yes I’ll need 1 of those days for my Christmas party this Friday life. Ugg not in the humour but it has to be done. Feel much brighter today, thanks for encouragement guys

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 26/11/2019 19:18

Long day, had to take myself off to bed so as not to go over. Saved 125 which will go towards my overeat yesterday. Just over 12,000 steps. Due to do weights tomorrow, might have to wait til the afternoon as I have an early start again, 3 x 7am starts this week in order to get my work done.
Fingers x’ed I’ll see a recordable weight in the morning

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/11/2019 19:36

Thanks guys, I managed to stop the migraine in it tracks, but was tossing and turning all night, waking up every few hours. But managed to get up in time and have breakfast before we had to leave.

Weight sts, steps today 12704 and will probably get a couple more hundred in pottering around the house.
Food today
B- blueberry wheats with coconut milk, coffee
L- wraps with a mix of mushrooms, onions, garlic, peppers and cherry tomatoes.
Soya yogurt, pear, satsuma.
Had 3 more coffees at work, was outside and it was cold, plus had a staff meeting, but also needed the caffeine!
Snacks- plain hula hoops, 2 breadsticks, 4 ginger nuts, not all together though! Think it will be totm soon!
D- spaghetti with veggie protein balls and a bit of hummus.
