She is right I know

Not2bObvious · 21/11/2019 10:56

Yes I know what you mean about the clothes, and you’re right. I guess it’s just getting your head into the zone that 2-3 weeks of getting back on track will improve the situation instead of feeling all is lost. My best friend can try to cheerlead me when I just want to have a moan, cause she doesn’t (or pretends) see I’m overweight. Yeah, cause you’re 8 stone and I’m 11 stone 9/10/11 whatever and you’d kill yourself if you were my weight but I should be perfectly happy cause I can look ok in clothes. Look like a burst sofa with clothes off mind. Ouf that came out strong!

Happierwithouthim · 21/11/2019 11:59

Exactly you hit the nail on the head
A friend/colleague here then doesn't like me getting too thin, I think it's because she's got the better figure and then I'm competition.

Happierwithouthim · 21/11/2019 12:03

I got told on Sat at wedding oh you lost all the weight, which bf and a friend said is a compliment but to me it was just you were fatter before

Not2bObvious · 21/11/2019 13:41

Haha, yeah the oul back handed compliment- of course it depends on who is delivering it too. But yeah I always feel it’s bittersweet, that you’re thought of as heavy.
Now no one ever comments on my weight, I guess it’s cause I haven’t really lost anything significant in many years. When I check back through mfp/Fitbit weights I’m around the same weight at Christmas every year. I’m a yo yo maintainer

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 21/11/2019 14:04

I meant comments on my weight these days, I did have a friend who I only see a couple of times a year saying wasn’t it great I was keeping the weight off! My answer is always it’s a never ending battle

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 21/11/2019 14:07

I honestly think it was meant as a compliment but that's not how I heard it, but that's on me not the woman saying it. Plus she called me by my sisters name first Smile

My ex h asked one time was I was always going to be writing down/watching what I eat and I said if it stops me getting bigger well then yes I am

Fair play to that friend for complimenting you on your hard work, some people don't get it

Not2bObvious · 21/11/2019 20:10

Scrapped through the rest of the day in a haphazard way but managed to bank 90 cals. Macros are rubbish these days, paying no attention to them truth be told, just working on the calories are king bit

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 21/11/2019 20:22

Over by 255 but almost there with macros
Thurs is a danger day for me because finish at 3pm & am busy with dc & seem to be really hungry

Not you are amazing at saving calories

Not2bObvious · 21/11/2019 21:45

It was really hard tonight but there was feck all I could eat with only 90 left, chances were I’d break into my banked cals as well. That happened last Thursday & threw me off so I’m trying to be better this week.

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 22/11/2019 07:16

Wow not in also in awe of your ability to save. I went 300 over yesterday in a controlled way as I was hungry and stressed. Did all other goals plus fbw.
My knees hurt today so will do jobs at lunch instead of gym.

I get your happier. It's great that you are happy with bf but hope we feel about ourselves is relative and when the clothes start to pinch it does get to you.
Your sister sounds lovely though.

Does sound like a back handled compliment not. And a good friend.

Down today 125.8

Not2bObvious · 22/11/2019 09:00

I guess since I’m allowed 1695 there’s just enough in that to hold back a hundred here and there. I can’t do 1695 on a Friday or Saturday, I’ve learned that the hard way. Down 1.2 today, now I’ve a .4 average drop, getting there

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 22/11/2019 18:42

I'm in the gym ShockShockShock

Not2bObvious · 22/11/2019 19:10

On a Friday!!!! That is hardcore, respect

Great going happier. Smash it

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/11/2019 21:00

Hi all, sorry for not posting again, just knackered really.

Do you all weigh daily? If so do you think it helps more? I think I would be too scared, and I would probably fluctuate wildly!

Thank you for all your kind thoughts about me x
My appt is the 8th of December, a bloody Sunday!

Not2bObvious · 22/11/2019 23:24

Yep weigh daily and track an average weight, ahh sure who knows at this stage if it’s better or worse. The flux is hellish sometimes. If I went week on week, I’d be down .8 since last Friday.
Wow an appointment on a Sunday? Never have that in Ireland that I’m aware of. How you feeling now?

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 23/11/2019 07:01

It was a good thing I banked those cals as I went around 1000 over last night, and honestly I didn’t go mad with food or drink in comparison to previous evenings when my friends over. Dawned on me I’d probably been underestimating my previous weekend cals by quite a bit🤔
Not sure what I’m up to today, but won’t be eating too much, over 500 calories to claw back and since it took me 4 days to save 500 this will be tough

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2019 07:22

Yes daily for weight. Took a while to get used to fluctuations but keeping a food and weight diary does help to spot them.

That's still a while for the app so self care for you curvy.

Down today. Running about doing jobs so might be a bit of on the spot. Fitbit on ankle to get trolley steps

Not2bObvious · 23/11/2019 08:24

Well my “little” splurge saw a 2.4lb flux on the scales so my .5 of a loss is now .2 with one weigh in to go. Bit of a bummer but it is what it is, if I’m going to insist on the scales being my main measure then I may accept it.
Meant to be babysitting later in the house of treats (their house is just the crisps/chocolate aisle in Tesco) I’ve been prepared and make myself a 430 cal Thai curry to bring with me. Just need to keep my beak out of the presses!

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/11/2019 10:32

Interesting, how long does it take to work out your average? I think if I weighed daily I would switch to stones, it's easier to read and calculate.
life, do you have a paper diary?
I've been very bad lately and have not been using MFP to track food, I think this is because I can't exercise and start thinking 'What's the point, it's too hard!'

not, yeah I know its weird having an appt on the weekends, I'm not sure if it is because the NHS is being sold off to private companies, or weather the NHS is under such strain that they are asking their workers to work the weekends for more money. My daughter has had a couple of Saturday appointments too.
I'm feeling kind of ok today, just having a slow start then me and dd2 are going to get our hair cut.
life, yes lots of self care, I promise.
Thank you

Not2bObvious · 23/11/2019 14:59

Weighing in pounds works better than stones, I’ve found anyway - it was recommended in the plan I follow. Use the Fitbit app to record week daily, you don’t have to have a Fitbit and it’s free, it’ll do it for you. I’d give it 2 weeks to truly get started. It really does bring its own problems, saying that if I set my weigh in day as Friday I’d be down .8, if I said Saturday I’d be up 1lb!
Did dumbbell workout & 50 mins on exercise bike with Fitbit on my ankle. Still crap steps, only 7,300 so far today. No babysitting so sitting on my arse

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/11/2019 16:12

Ahh not what plan do you follow?
I don't have a Fitbit, I did want one, but none of them were truly compatible with my Samsung phone, so I went for a Samsung wear one, which mostly works fine.
Its good to know that I don't need a Fitbit!
Will I need to research kgs v stone v pounds? (Sorry thinking out loud).

Such things to consider!

Not2bObvious · 23/11/2019 16:40

Really just calorie deficit with a focus on macros (when I can be bothered these days!) It was team RH I followed for over 2 years which taught me that.
If kgs work for you, stick with them, maybe I should switch to them - they mean nothing to me so might take the emotion out of it.
Lots of grumbly tummy pains, and a bit of breakthrough bleeding tmi sorry. Going to have a takeaway - I know it’s probably not the best but feeling a bit meh. I’ll regret it no doubt but hey ho

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2019 17:14

I follow the same plan as not. There is a lot of free content on Facebook. Team rh. without the specific of the plan which is paid for.

I used to use the Garmin app as I have a Garmin. Or the Fitbit app for a while without a fitbit. Apparently the Fitbit app also has good tracking on now too.
I record food in mfp.
