Link to previous thread here: Half a stone or 3kgs off in September!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3679916-half-a-stone-or-3kgs-off-in-september

Can't quite believe it's time to start the October thread already!!

So here it is, our challenge to lose half a stone in October. Oldies, newbies and lurkers all welcome. We do a mix of diets/healthy lifestyles etc. I swapped ww for mfp last month to help me focus on nutrients rather than just calories and also follow 16:8 most of the time.

As per every month we ask for positivity, encouragement and motivation to be the best version of ourselves we can be!!

Stats for start of October for me are:

Starting weight: 19.3
Loss for Sept: 10lbs
Loss for 2018: 5st 13lbs

Goal for October: 18.7 - another 10lb loss.

See you all here tomorrow!!

Morning all and welcome to ❤️ Day 16 ❤️

Still not been on the scales. I'm not talking to them at the moment as it just makes me mad. Plateaus are just shit.

Plan for today:
Fasting until 1pm then a small edamame and sugar snap pea protein pot.
3pm - punchy protein nuts as a snack
8pm - mixed bean chilli on salad with a little grated cheese and sour cream, maybe a toasted wholemeal pitta depending on how hungry I am.
NO WINE!

I have a really busy day ahead with a lot of meetings so will check in again later :)

Hope everyone had a lovely day!

Back to 73.6kg. Seem to be yo-yoing.

Hope everyone has good days.

WingDefence · 16/10/2019 07:30

Hi all - have been totally off the wagon so put 0.6lb on this week (far less than I thought). Normal service will resume shortly!

WingDefence · 16/10/2019 07:32

@cricketmum84 I was also in London all day yesterday. My boss got stuck for about five hours trying to get down from Leeds. I’m on the west coast line thankfully so no delays on my side.

Ihatesundays · 16/10/2019 07:41

I wasn’t going to post as I have been struggling with working. Seem to be getting back to it this week. I’ve managed a fair bit of exercise and it’s making such a difference

However I weighed myself today and I am also 73.6kg @Egghead68

I’m just jumping up and down and can’t lower. Desperate to see 69kg

cricketmum84 · 16/10/2019 07:51

@WingDefence yes we were trying to get back to Leeds. ECML was just totally paralysed.

Weight twins @Ihatesundays. Glad the exercise is working for you.

I exercise around 5 days a week and it does nothing weight-wise Envy.

We can do this though. Only 10lb to go.

Baguetteaboutit · 16/10/2019 08:13

I have no idea how to declare here. The scales showed a 1.5 pounds loss with only 0.25lb to an even 11, so I hopped on again in hope of a round number and then...bastards... 11 stone 2. Which renders the week null and void. Never double tap with a good number.

Mrscog · 16/10/2019 08:31

I’ve broken through barrier! Albeit only by 100g Grin but still a breakthrough! I think it’s enough to keep me on straight and narrow today!

7Worfs · 16/10/2019 09:09

Sympathise with everyone at a plateau, mine lasted a week and I was so annoyed because I wasn’t eating more.

Today slight loss again, must be the one hour walk with the pram yesterday.
The morning fasted HIIT is hell, I really need all of my willpower to keep doing it.

beforeIhit30 · 16/10/2019 09:50

Gained a pound, think (hope Grin) it’s mainly bloating following my disorganised eating lately. But for now I’ve gone back to proper logging of food to keep me focused and back in the swing of things.

So far today I’ve had a creamy coffee. Need to think properly about what to make later!

DownUdderer · 16/10/2019 10:17

I’ve eaten well today. I’m plateauing again. One of these days the scales will be kind to me again! I’m sticking with 16:8.

DartmoorDoughnut · 16/10/2019 10:43

Morning all, I am feeling like death warmed up, on the plus side my throat is so sore I don’t want to eat so hopefully the pound that keeps coming back will permanently fuck off! I just want to see a 9 on the scales

7Worfs · 16/10/2019 11:08

Poor Doughnut - get on the Lemsip and consume copious amounts of buttered toast and tea Brew

QRCode · 16/10/2019 13:25

Hi all, I was here in May and lost 11lbs. I slid so far off the wagon I couldn't even see it any more, but the good news is that as of this morning, after three days of concentrated effort, I am back to my 1st May weight! So, I am checking in with you all to help keep me on track. We have a beach break in just under two weeks and I want to lose a few more pounds by then, luckily it's just four nights so I won't do too much damage. It will also help that I am committed to doing 30 minutes of exercise for the next 30 days and participating in a step count challenge at work.

Egghead it's 80% diet 20% exercise apparently, so focus your energy in the correct ratio.

Well done Mrscog and get well soon doughnut

midsummer80 · 16/10/2019 15:01

so after fighting for the last 18 months I finally got to my target weight. 29 lbs down in the last 6 weeks.

can I get a hi 5 ;)

midsummer80 · 16/10/2019 15:03

Baguetteaboutit · 16/10/2019 15:32

29lbs in six weeks, but did you try stepping on the scales twice?

Egghead68 · 16/10/2019 15:48

Thanks @QRCode. I do the exercise anyhow to try to manage my health conditions - it's not specifically for weight-loss (although the 1500 calories burnt a week should help, I would have thought).

I'm reluctant to cut my calories below 1400 a day as I don't think I'd be able to sustain it long term and I'm not in any massive hurry to lose weight but I might throw in a few fast days to mix things up a bit.

Egghead68 · 16/10/2019 15:49

P.S. Get well soon @DartmoorDoughnut!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 16/10/2019 19:00

Baguetteaboutit I do the 18:6. I have breakfast at 9 and lunch (a massive one) at 14:30, then that's it.

I don't fit my eating around my family, as it was sabotaging my efforts.

Today I had yoghurt, nuts, seeds, dried cranberries at 9am, then carbonara at 14:30.

Have a nice evening everyone.

Ihatesundays · 16/10/2019 20:39

I went for a run. I haven’t been running in years and I was always crap.
I ran a mile - it was easy! I’m not even out of breathe now, I could have done loads more. I’m not even tired but I need to go out and pick up DD.

I hope it’s good for weight loss!

FashionFoodLaughs · 16/10/2019 20:47

@ihatesundays I think it is good for weight loss. I broke through my plateau by doing interval training this past fortnight on the treadmill. They say keeping your body guessing is really good x
