Link to previous thread here: Half a stone or 3kgs off in September!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3679916-half-a-stone-or-3kgs-off-in-september

Can't quite believe it's time to start the October thread already!!

So here it is, our challenge to lose half a stone in October. Oldies, newbies and lurkers all welcome. We do a mix of diets/healthy lifestyles etc. I swapped ww for mfp last month to help me focus on nutrients rather than just calories and also follow 16:8 most of the time.

As per every month we ask for positivity, encouragement and motivation to be the best version of ourselves we can be!!

Stats for start of October for me are:

Starting weight: 19.3
Loss for Sept: 10lbs
Loss for 2018: 5st 13lbs

Goal for October: 18.7 - another 10lb loss.

See you all here tomorrow!!

Yay! Down 1lb.

Aiming for that to continue. I've massively reduced snacking, and trying to resist the wine!

Planning my food for today- not sure about lunch but seabass & ratatouille for this evening- usually I'd have new potatoes, but I'll just do them for DH and fill up with ratatouille which I love.

poshme · 11/10/2019 07:47

Have a good w/e cricket.

Mrscog · 11/10/2019 07:59

Keep going everyone! I’m still on my plateau but I have to keep reminding myself that I’ve plateaued 4lb lighter than I was 2.5 weeks ago, and that is good progress.

I need to have a good day today - going in for the black coffee to get me on the right track!

7Worfs · 11/10/2019 08:06

Woolly dust yourself off and carry on, a bit of sweets madness happens to everyone. Smile

I’ve exercised this morning after a 6-day break, it was not nice. I really want to reach 2kg loss at mid-month, to feel I’m well on track for 3kg for October.

Vebrithien · 11/10/2019 08:59

Hope you have a stress free weekend cricket.
I've broken the 90kg barrier!
Weigh-in today was at 89.2kg, which is a 1kg loss since the start of October, and 21.8kg since April.
I've got just over 10kg to go to get back into the normal BMI, but have moved from super-obese to just overweight. I'd love to be in the 85kg area come Christmas.
Trying to keep snacks to a minimum/make healthy choices. More protein, little/no alcohol. This has worked so far!
Gentle walks in the morning, before anyone else in the house has woken up.

Egghead68 · 11/10/2019 09:21

Congratulations @Vebrithien! @WoollyFoolly I think most of us have days like that. And I reckon Skittles aren’t too bad in the scheme of things.

Onesmallstep67 · 11/10/2019 09:23

Morning everyone, ending the week on a positive note here, 3lbs down on October start weight and 5lbs down from my weight at the start of the week! My body obviously realised I needed this boost.
Busy weekend coming up with a 300 mile round trip to look at a Uni with my DD ( the younger one will tag along too as thanks to the power of the internet she has a friend where we are heading ) So hoping being on the go will keep me away from the snacks, boredom is often my undoing.
Have a fab weekend Cricket and well done Vebrithien , fantastic losses xx

AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter · 11/10/2019 10:29

Have a lovely weekend @cricketmum84

I've come here for motivation! I'm this close to breaking my fast this morning, not even because I'm that hungry but because i really want something tasty and don't want to wait 3 hours for lunch. I need to find some strength from somewhere and remember that I'm going out for a burger and pudding tomorrow!! ITS SO HARD!!!

7Worfs · 11/10/2019 10:39

have a few cups of herbal tea, and think how fat is burning up

FashionFoodLaughs · 11/10/2019 10:52

Hurrah 1lb off. Plan for today is
B - porridge with mashed banana and protein powder
L - poached egg on toast, yoghurt, satsuma
D - prawn pho
S - hopefully nothing

Ellabella989 · 11/10/2019 11:02

Food today will be:
B - fruit salad
L - lentil soup
D - something from the freezer like fish fingers, chips and beans as food shop doesn’t get delivered until tomorrow morning.
Snacks - bag of vegetable crisps and 1 finger of the new Orange Twirl bar.

I’m doing a HIIT class today (god help me as I’m not very fit)

DownUdderer · 11/10/2019 11:34

I’ve done 9k steps today, I went out after dinner for a good walk, up and down some hills. I’m off on a hike tomorrow as well.

I tried on a dress that I’d like to be able to wear again and I’m hoping in a week I’ll nearly fit in it!

I had a skinny cow ice cream as a snack today. Quite nice!

DartmoorDoughnut · 11/10/2019 12:10

@Vebrithien That is awesome, congrats Flowers

I am so over exercise today, it’s miserable and I got a new hoody in the post and tried it on and it’s so snuggly I may never take it off let alone exercise, I need a kick 😂

7Worfs · 11/10/2019 12:40

Just ate half a bar of Ritter Sport marzipan after lunch.
I’m going to count it as a small success, as this is the first time I managed to not eat the whole bar in one go. Blush

DartmoorDoughnut · 11/10/2019 14:43

Did my exercise thanks to marvellous MIL taking DS2 out for a walk in this horrendous weather to get him to sleep. Didn’t feel that hard but shoulders now aching thanks to bloody push ups!

DartmoorDoughnut · 11/10/2019 14:43

@ 7Worfs that’s a total win!

Mammyloveswine · 11/10/2019 14:48

Well after last weeks 3.5 pound loss this week I lost 0.2 pounds... but I had a very stressful weekend, drank a shit load of wine and had a takeaway Monday night so can't complain.

Hoping for at least 3 off this week, weigh in on Tuesday!

Just had a stuffed pepper for lunch (cauliflower rice, 30g feta and tsp of pesto). Baked salmon with celearic chips and broccoli for fishy Friday tonight!!

Egghead68 · 11/10/2019 14:54

B - raisin & cinnamon bagel with butter
L - roll with blue cheese and raspberry jam
S - Gregg’s cream apple danish (440 calories well spent)
D - will be fruit & veg, options hot chocolate, circuits & spinning.

5km fun run tomorrow. I will be very slow!

74.0 kg this morning - heading in right direction.

beforeIhit30 · 11/10/2019 18:36

Tired again! It’s the end of the week, baby was up a bit more last night, DH has been under the weather again (there seems to be a lingering cold doing the rounds around here, I’ve been similar but he’s had it worse).

So don’t know what to eat! I’ve got some meat in the pressure cooker but not sure I actually want to eat it tonight Grin just want cups of tea and toast, only I can’t eat toast because it upsets my stomach, so some other toast equivalent!

So far today for breakfast I’ve had a bacon omelette, a sausage, some chips and a small pancake. So generally fine by my standards as I don’t count fat or calories, but higher in carbs than my usual although not a high carb day still.

Egghead68 · 12/10/2019 06:34

Woohoo! 73.0kg. 1.4kg off in 6 days although it’s probably not all fat loss.

Next goal: 72.0kg by 19th.

Hope everyone has good weekends.

Baguetteaboutit · 12/10/2019 07:52

Down 0.5lb. It's not much but it's only been a few days. Yesterday was b: porridge/flaxseeds/berries l: Butternut squash soup and an apple d: chicken/sweet potato and broccoli.

I'm all about the carbs, that might have to change.

flowerycurtain · 12/10/2019 08:23

Hi, can I join here please. I've been posting my on another October thread that seems to have died a death. I'm totally on board for losing half a stone in October. I was 10st 9 on Oct 1st. I'm aiming for 9st 9 by Dec 1st.

I'm on day 12/60 of sticking to my plan. Which is eat healthily within mfp plus exercise 3 x per week.

Have just been for a 5k run. Meals today:
B - all bran and yoghurt
L - Nieces birthday party food so will try to eat the healthy options.
T - scrambled egg, mushrooms & beans

7Worfs · 12/10/2019 08:23

Nicely done, egg and baguette

I’m hovering around the same weight for a 4th day in a row (67.5kg). If I’m still the same on Tuesday I’ll have to change something 🤔

WoollyFoolly · 12/10/2019 08:24

Morning lovely losers! Well done egghead and baguette (assuming your username has something to do with your love of carbs!).
I managed to get a hold of myself and stick to it properly yesterday and am down to 12.4 this morning.
I went to our nearest shopping centre yesterday to have a look for some smaller work trousers. Didn't manage to find any that fit but it's really hard to convince myself to pick up 14s to try on, I've been a size 18 for so long! Shops that I didn't used to bother going in because they stop at a 16, I can now shop there!
I did buy a super bargain dress, reduced to £13 in the sale. It's quite summery and I have a lot of summery dresses already but the new one is very fitted and makes my waist look tiny so I had to buy it!

Egghead68 · 12/10/2019 09:28

Congratulations @WoollyFooly and enjoy your dress!
