Link to previous thread here: Half a stone or 3kgs off in September!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3679916-half-a-stone-or-3kgs-off-in-september

Can't quite believe it's time to start the October thread already!!

So here it is, our challenge to lose half a stone in October. Oldies, newbies and lurkers all welcome. We do a mix of diets/healthy lifestyles etc. I swapped ww for mfp last month to help me focus on nutrients rather than just calories and also follow 16:8 most of the time.

As per every month we ask for positivity, encouragement and motivation to be the best version of ourselves we can be!!

Stats for start of October for me are:

Starting weight: 19.3
Loss for Sept: 10lbs
Loss for 2018: 5st 13lbs

Goal for October: 18.7 - another 10lb loss.

See you all here tomorrow!!

Total fail yesterday. Had to take the morning off for the school welfare officer to come out and speak to me about DD/DS. They eventually turned up while I was on a work call and she answered the door and sent them away saying I was too busy 🤬🤬🤬

I had a cheese and onion pasty for lunch and didn't bother making any dinner. Then had an awful IBS attack and spent the rest of the evening in the loo.

Back down to 19.2 this morning. I don't have any food with me so need to pick up a salad or some fruit at lunchtime and planning a mushroom omelette for dinner. Should probably stick to gentle food for a few days until my stomach feels a bit less tender!

Oh 7Worfs those night wakings are tough. I'm impressed you are even together enough to think about exercise!
Back down to 12.5 this morning, hurray! Will try and have a couple of strict days because I'm off to a spa hotel with Mr Woolly on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary so no doubt lots of food and wine will be involved!

DartmoorDoughnut · 10/10/2019 09:19

Morning! Weighed myself today and 3lb down, got to love the first week weight loss! 😂

About to have breakfast and planning on having pretty much the same as yesterday all day but maybe an omelette for dinner rather than soup. Have literally been dreaming about chocolate brownies though Blush

DartmoorDoughnut · 10/10/2019 09:20

Oh and carried my almost 3yr old on the school run this morning so just over 2st up and down hills, about 1.5 miles all in, will probably do the same later and that totally counts as my exercise today!

Ihatesundays · 10/10/2019 09:41

Back to the weight I was 2 weeks ago this morning. Hopefully means it’s on the way down.
The big workout I did last night has made a difference to my legs which is good. Going on a 1 hour power walk tonight.
Praying for weight loss. Never known it been this slow before.

WingDefence · 10/10/2019 09:50

Thanks @cricketmum84 - sorry to hear about your bad day yesterday :(

Baguetteaboutit · 10/10/2019 09:55

Inspired by reading this thread, I had a good day yesterday and managed to keep to healthy food. I think I'm at least 50% toast. Especially when the weather gets colder. But I need to find some go-to lunches that are warming and, well, not toast Grin

7Worfs · 10/10/2019 10:11

Oh cricket you can’t catch a break Sad

doughnut now that you mentioned dreams - my dream was about having a pizza in the oven and then DH ordering takeaway pizza, I was feeling overwhelmed by all the pizza that needs eating, and then there were two cakes...

Also a revelation I had whilst ill - drinking 8 cups of herbal tea a day keeps you quite full! I’ll continue to do so.

Bearintheknow · 10/10/2019 10:22

Hiya,
Havnt been posting as I’m not loosing a thing despite trying!
So I’m still 9st 10lb. I’m hoping it’s going to eventually just be a big drop because I’ve never been stuck at this weight before? Usually get stuck around 9st 6lbs.

I have had a cheat meal day last week so I think I might have undone all the hard work.
Feeling good so far this week and will weigh on Sunday...

Egghead68 · 10/10/2019 13:34

I would love to be 9st 10lb Bearintheknow. Haven't been that weight since around 2005! Weight loss is probably bound to be slow at that weight. Hope you get a big drop soon though.

Today is a better day for me.
B - a few sugar free sweets
L - lettuce, peppers, ketchup, a few chips
D - going to try to go without and just do a spinning class but will probably eat some veg and chutney.

(Penance for my whole box of biscuits and 2/3 bottle of wine yesterday!)

twobambinos · 10/10/2019 17:08

@Bearintheknow I too would love to be 9st 10. But I know I wouldn't be happy there either. Hopefully you will have a whoosh soon.

My scales were slightly down this morning thankfully. Not much but moving the right way at least. It'll be damage limitation this weekend however.

@cricketmum84 that sounds very stressful try not to be too hard on yourself

Keep up the good work everyone

Bearintheknow · 10/10/2019 17:15

@Egghead68 well tbh it’s a healthy weight for my height (5ft4) but it’s alllll on my thighs and bum! I have a flat tum, sticks for arms and no boobs, so I just look disproportionate Grin

I don’t blame you for the biscuits and wine. I’m missing wine so much.

Havnt fallen off the wagon yet so let’s hope there is some improvement coming!!

7Worfs · 10/10/2019 18:22

Hah bear I’m a T-Rex 🦖 mode too! All extra weight is stored in my thighs.

Egghead68 · 10/10/2019 19:21

I’m the same @Bearintheknow. My BMI is 24.2 but it’s all stomach and saddlebags so I look obese.

800 cals and a spinning class today so not bad.

Hope everyone else has had good days.

Bearintheknow · 10/10/2019 21:19

Ahaha! @7Worfs never heard it described like that before - that’s brilliant, Grin

Ihatesundays · 10/10/2019 21:28

I can remember being 9 stone and thinking I was fat. Just trying to get into the 10 stones at the moment.
I think if I could get to 10.5stone and be toned I would be happy with that.

twobambinos · 10/10/2019 21:50

I went to a class this evening and didn't feel too bad in my new hoodie until I got there and while I'm not massive there are some very very slim ladies in the class and it made me feel like id eaten all the pies and then some. No dinner here but did have a big take away sandwich for lunch so I'm sure that more than made up for it calorie wise. Have hit the 10k steps today too.

The t Rex is an interesting one. I'm all in the boobs and belly.

DownUdderer · 10/10/2019 22:15

Well I’ve lost a pound! I’m stoked! I had to go to the toilet twice. Being in a plateau was not nice. I’ve got a bounce in my step today!

Good luck everyone and good going on the step counts!

beforeIhit30 · 10/10/2019 22:23

sigh lost my longer message!

So I’ll just say, I’ve had a good day! Grin More active and ate well.

Hope you’re all having a good week so far.

Ellabella989 · 10/10/2019 22:39

I’ve lost 1.5 pounds this week. I’m pear shaped (small boobs, flat stomach but big thighs and bum). I’m a 14 now and would love to be a 10 again one day.

Egghead68 · 10/10/2019 23:05

Congratulations @Downudderer and Ellabella989!

Ihatesundays · 10/10/2019 23:17

I’m also all thigh. I’ve only just started to make some progress on them and I’ve lost more than a stone. My weight comes off my body from the top down, so the bottom half is the last to go.... annoying.
I’m doing all this because I would like to feel okay in a pair of shorts next year.

cricketmum84 · 11/10/2019 07:07

Morning all and happy Friday!!

Only a short day at work for me and then my parents are taking the kids away to their caravan until Sunday! It will be so lovely for me and DH to have a bit of alone time and some stress free time for me. DD/DS refusing to go in again today, I'm just at a total loss of what to do next.

Plan for today is:
AM - sugar free juice and green tea
1pm - wholemeal pitta with reduced fat hummous and a sprinkling of mixed seeds.
Snacks - 2 babybel
8pmish - treating ourselves to takeaway. I've had a look at the menu and thinking grilled masala fish with salad and a couple of poppadoms. Should be pretty low fat and low calorie.

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday!

WoollyFoolly · 11/10/2019 07:40

Sigh, totally sabotaged myself again yesterday. Had loads of snacks, even ate half a bag of skittles for gods sake.
Back to 12.6.
