Hello Lovely People

There are 13 weeks/95 days until 2020. I for one want to greet it feeling my best! Feeling healthy happy and vibrant!

So following on from the previous monthly heathy eating & weight loss threads, here’s October’s. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or are just happy to maintain.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to Septembers Thread

Myself, I will continue to:-

  • follow a Low Carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fasting/IF
  • Calorie Counting
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Drink plenty of Water
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

Come on ladies, let’s be awesome 😎

Bit of spam going on here recently! Missed the other one.

I'm finding it hard this week too - lots of stress and juggling and the loss of sunshine/daylight is not helping at all.

Today has been more controlled.

Enjoy the horse riding @Foreverlexicon

cheesenpickles · 16/10/2019 18:40

I'm mainlining vitamin D3 at the moment @mrsjonesandme

galvantula · 16/10/2019 22:34

Let's just pretend today never happened... So many calories 😱.

We've been on the move a lot, but not enough to cancel out pizza and an earlier (delicious) ice cream cone. Oh well... Holidays. 😏

The rest of the week has been kinda ok. See what the scales say at the weekend. I'm guessing 🐷🐷

Foreverlexicon · 17/10/2019 00:52

@galvantula holidays are for treats!

I’ve had a good day and my belt has gone up another notch at work. I think it must be the leather stretching - my trousers are looser than when I got my uniform but not 4 belt holes looser.

I havn’t weighed in ages. I might weigh on Sunday but the gf is round Saturday night so it depends on what we end up having for dinner. It’s still such early stages and with my shifts we don’t get to see each other all that much so it’s always a bit of a treat.

I’m in a much better place with food now though. I’m just trying to eat in a way which makes me feel good about myself and ultimately I think that will lead to a few pounds coming off even if it’s super slow.

Onto nights tomorrow so plan to get up early, go for a ride and maybe a run and nap all afternoon. I love changeover day 😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/10/2019 06:27

It sounds perfect @galvantula you can get back on track at home.

You sound very positive @Foreverlexicon, have a great day.

I am absolutely exhausted. Getting into bed at a reasonable time, but struggling to get to sleep. Really catching up with me after a whole week now. Busy day ahead. Will do my best to eat OK. Won't be time for yoga or anything else active.

Check in with you all later. How are you doing @fallfallfall?

SunshineCake · 17/10/2019 07:53

I don't want to tempt fate but with my new knowledge I think Friday or Saturday might be the day I drop to the next stone band.

This comes about having only had crackers and hummus all day until 11pm when I had Chinese shop chips on the way back from hospital with DD. She was refused what she needed by a bitch of a nurse, spent three hours waiting to see ooh doctor who tried but couldn't do anything but said she could have had the scan she needed, they just didn't want to do it at this time AngryShock. This morning I will be trying again while my DD misses school as can't walk without excruciating pain.

Hope everyone has a good day.

cheesenpickles · 17/10/2019 08:46

My TOTM came along and now the junky, teary and weight gain all make sense. It's starting to drop down a little bit again so hopefully I can get back down to what I was. Really emotional/ragey this week as well and trying to keep my emotions in check is proving quite the task. Managed to keep under my carbs and in my eating window yesterday so hopefully I can keep that up and get back on track.

BustedDreams · 17/10/2019 11:03

Hi Ladies

I’ve just written a long post and the page spontaneously refreshed. When it reappeared my post had gone poof into thin air.

@SunshineCake I have everything crossed for you.

@Foreverlexicon did you enjoy your horse riding?

@cheesenpickles hope you feel better in yourself.

@MrsJonesAndMe hope you’re not as tired 💤. Being sleep deprived really messes with weight loss hormones etc.

@galvantula we have all been there! I feel your pain.

I can’t scroll back anymore to see previous posts ... I think that’s how I lost my post actually.

Wishing you all a great Thursday. Away at the horrid place at the moment 😠. Really should not be made to feel like we do and trying to make the best of it.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/10/2019 11:34

(((hugs))) all round. I've downed some fresh air and light, a large hot chocolate and 1/2 a croissant. Now clouding over rapidly. Hormones are the pits @cheesenpickles

What is wrong with your DD @SunshineCake? I hope she gets seen promptly and properly.

Good luck @busteddreams - no, it shouldn't be like that at all.

SunshineCake · 17/10/2019 12:07

Hi, thanks for asking about DD. I got a GP appointment with the doctor who makes things happen. I'm not fully understanding what she has done but I think it is muscle damage. Walking is very painful. She has very tight ligaments and I am worried it is to do with that as the pain came on when walking and was made worse by a couple of hours of sport. She's applying ice which is helping and we await the implementation of the urgent request for an appointment.

I think I'm going to come on imminently as due or late and have stomach pains.

Planning quiet day and roast chicken for dinner.

Hope everyone is okay.

SunshineCake · 17/10/2019 12:08

Remember Busted, house collapsing on them..

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/10/2019 20:23

Oh bless her. DD is currently seeing a physio/has insoles due to foot/ligament/hip issues.

Does 20 minutes of walking through a dodgy town centre in the dark count as exercise? Blush

SunshineCake · 17/10/2019 21:54

It's all exercise!

My dd has scoliosis and also has orthotics as does her younger brother.

What does everyone do in terms of weighing when on their period ? I have lost weight and have almost started so I don't know what would be my true weight and do I wait to weigh again once it's finished or just weigh daily like I do at the rest of the month ?

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/10/2019 06:25

I'm still hopping on @SunshineCake though I didn't yesterday as DS was hanging around while I was getting dressed - don't want them getting obsessed with weight like I am at the moment Poor DD, hope they can relieve some of the pain for her.

BustedDreams · 18/10/2019 09:11

Good morning lovelies

I had to many carbs yesterday. Think oats for brunch and cheese flan and baked beans for tea. I hate cooking in this skanky kitchen. Fit date has been put back to January (initially given date of November).

Spicy pork balls and home made sauce today (prepped at home) so looking forward to that.

@SunshineCake & @MrsJonesAndMe Thank you 😊

galvantula · 18/10/2019 10:15

I decided to just enjoy the last dinner out of the holiday last night, the chocolate fondant dessert was amazing 😍

Back to normality tomorrow after a massive drive home today and I expect a load of random service station food...

I think even though I'm only a few years older than when I last lost weight after DC3, I'm seeing a difference in how hard it is.

So I'll be making a new plan to try and adjust my habits again. I think I went a bit more hardcore at weekends, even more limited unnecessary Friday/Saturday snacks (just cos DH was having something) and no extra cheeky beers. Blush

I feel I could be quite successful at maintaining a good weight, just need a final push to get the last few lb off before Christmas!

I'll catch up later... Need to try and keep 3DC calm for about 400 miles Grin

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/10/2019 12:47

Good luck @galvantula That's a looong drive!

Down a smidge today. Already had a good walk, but possibly not doing much today. Paperwork to sort out around school runs.

BustedDreams · 18/10/2019 12:52

Have a safe journey @galvantula.

@MrsJonesAndMe 👍. It’s in the right direction.

OP posts:
galvantula · 18/10/2019 15:34

Only 191 miles to go 😅

...2 on the top trumps cards and one on the Cbeebies story app. 😏

fallfallfall · 18/10/2019 22:14

I’m alive. Peaking out from my pity party cave. Not exercising as I should and using my injuries as an excuse for the past week or more.
Weight up, logging my food AND hiked today.
If I’m diligent I can get back into the swing of this.

BustedDreams · 19/10/2019 09:34

Good Morning Lovelies

@Mungomango a warm welcome. There are a great bunch of ladies on this thread, no gentlemen as yet but they’d be welcomed too Grin

I myself use MyFitnessPal, if, low carb and calorie counting. They scales are going in the right direction albeit very slow. Hampered by thyroid meds.

Wishing everyone a great weekend!

galvantula · 19/10/2019 11:27

Morning all.

We made it home with no drama and when I weighed in this morning I'm only about half a pound up despite a week of treats, yay - I'll take that.

My strategy of slightly less snacks and alcohol than the same holiday last year must have helped 😄

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/10/2019 15:24

Welcome back @fallfallfall

Hurrah @BustedDreams I hope it all comes off quickly.

Amazing result @galvantula and glad you got home OK, that was a long journey.

I've got a sore throat and had to hang about as you do for the children for 2 hours. Now gearing up to go out to a family thing when I really just want to crawl into bed. Food hasn't been great!

Catch up with you all tomorrow x

Mungomango · 19/10/2019 21:27

Thanks @BustedDreams Smile

I'm trialling Noom for two weeks (I'm only going to do it whilst it's free!). It's been a real eye opener logging my food and it's made me realise how much I overeat on nuts and oils (I'm a pretty healthy eater but just overdo the good stuff!). Anyway about 9 days in and I've lost two pounds (small potatoes but I'm thrilled anyway!!).

Hope everyone else is doing well x
