Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s Septembers. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to August’s Thread

I will continue to:-

  • follow a low carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fast IF
  • Calorie Count
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

@MrsJonesAndMe glad it's just not my kids school who hand out awards on the Friday expecting parents there on the monday morning! No chance! I'm so that parent that forgets things too, luckily my girls are very relaxed and dont care.

I braved the scales and it said I was 10 stone 11.5 lbs so I've gained 1.5 lbs over the last few days. Not as awful as I thought but I have some very lovely brie that I'm struggling to avoid and no one else eats it. So I'll see how the rest of this week goes.

My husband and I have a rare day off together while the kids are at school so we are going on a 7 mile walk, so that should counteract some of the brie, right Wink

Good Morning Lovelies

Happy to report I stayed on plan yesterday. TBH I had to fight the urge for some supper. I knew I wasn’t hungry and that it was stress/tiredness. I only had 90 minutes of the evening left so had a shower, dried hair then sat and watched ITVs Confession (okish). By bedtime no craving, proving earlier urges wasn’t hunger based. Busy distraction certainly helped!

@dancingmom that muscle ache feeling is so satisfying ... it’s proof you’re making progress. Sorry to hear about your pmt, it can be very debilitating.

@SunshineCake that’s a massive milestone you’ve overcome there! That will help break the stress/eat cycle. Well bloody done! 🥇 for your lunch Grin @cheesenpickles comes a close 2nd with Career Dressing 🏅 Wink

@RiddleyW how did school drop off go yesterday? Hope you had tissues handy.

@knitclubchatter that’s better for you!

@DrDiva how did work go?

@Laura221 hope you’re ok.

@MrsJonesAndMe sounds exhausting!

@Cary2012 Well done! There are a couple of us where you are now. Keep going! Loss will be slower, but it can be done! But agreed, the last stone is the hardest to shift.

Posted a visual of foods that help repair ... at my age I need all the help I can get 😅

Have a great day! It’s carpet fitting day here ... I’m ridiculously excited (had wooden floors for years).

Thank you for my medal @BustedDreams.. I feel very proud and accepted as part of the gang Smile.

I am down 0.4lb of the 1.4 or 1.6lb (can't remember which way around) I put on over the weekend. I'm fine about it. Emotionally though I am struggling. I had a slight trigger for when dh hurt me and while I know he's done nothing wrong it is still having an effect on me. I can't quite work out if I am hungry but can't face eating . I'm going hot and cold. I'm shattered after a broken night but I will NOT eat the chocolate in the cupboard for breakfast.

MrsJonesAndMe · 10/09/2019 13:05

(((hugs))) @SunshineCake Hope you have managed to keep away from the chocolate.

I am now 16lbs down!

Today:
hot chocolate
oat crackers, cheese cucumber
pop corn
easy peeler
cottage pie with mash/sweet pot mash

Well done @BustedDreams for keeping going. Are the carpets going down?

dancingmom · 10/09/2019 13:47

Distraction is such a good idea @BustedDreams 👍🏻

Still hovering at 12 stone and determined to get under the number!!! Did my exercise this morning after bulletproof coffee and just made leek, cavalo Nero and sweet potato soup all whizzed smooth with a big dollop of cream and nutmeg. Yum.

Now thinking about dark choc in cupboard! 😬😬

DrDiva · 10/09/2019 14:17

Congratulations @Cary2012 and @MrsJonesAndMe for the losses! And to @SunshineCake for your victory, and for the ridiculous lunch! (Which actually sounded rather yum)

@dancingmom that soup sounds fantastic.

@BustedDreams good luck for the carpet! What color is it? Work was fine, thanks, if a little loud and fraught - I properly love my colleagues, we are all really good friends, but we are all of the kind, you know, put eight of us in a room together and there'll be twenty seven opinions! Grin We also all have the same slightly savage sense of humor. So meetings are never sober affairs...

I am another 2lb down. Long may the direction of travel last!

cheesenpickles · 10/09/2019 14:34

I'm the same as yesterday but happy with that. Ocado ordered arrived - complete with low carb tortillas and some extremely expensive Atkins faux Kit Kats. Making shredded chicken fajitas for dinner and will have a celebratory not-a-Kit-kat when the kids are in bed.

SunshineCake · 10/09/2019 15:34

I stayed away from the chocolate but did have two squares of dairy free fudge when preparing dinner as I was hungry. Dinner is salmon and cod fish pie with carrots and sweet corn and I'll have broccoli and / or cabbage.

Knitclubchatter · 10/09/2019 17:05

Still 153.9, I’ll look into increasing my exercise.

RiddleyW · 10/09/2019 18:32

Bit of a mixed day today. Not great food choices but not like a totally binge. I got some disappointing news this morning though and immediately ate two chocolates and a chocolate biscuit. The complete obviousness of the link is actually funny now I see it so clearly.

SunshineCake · 10/09/2019 18:35

Hope you're ok @RiddleyW?

We've just had my fish pie and I surprised myself at how nice it was. I can cook but I haven't made this recipe for a while and it's different. Lovely.

RiddleyW · 10/09/2019 18:40

I’m ok thanks - just hoping to get an all clear on some biopsy results but they’ve not come through yet and now have an appointment next Tuesday. Seems a long time to have to wait.

I love fish pie - I haven’t made it for ages but definitely will do now the weather is getting cooler.

BustedDreams · 10/09/2019 20:29

@SunshineCake you’re welcome & off course your part of the gang :)

@MrsJonesAndMe. 16lbs is brilliant ! @DrDiva Yes the carpets are down at long last. It’s a bit of luxury at long last. Been on floor boards for 3 months (not nice polished ones, ones with 100 years of grime and paint and patching stain on). We have renovated the dining room floor but carpets in sitting room, bedrooms and stairs. It’s a latte kinda colour iyswim, called Neat & Tidy

@RiddleyW Sending hugs lovie. Hope you’re ok!

Stayed to plan again. How good I’ve been I would have hoped to have felt slimmer if yswim. No alcohol, no sweet treats, no sugar, no processed foods. At the end of last week I was beginning to feel more svelte but clothes no looser this week. Will be interested to see what I weigh when I get the chance. I don’t feel I’ve lost. We’ll see.

Keep at it ladies, we can do it. All those benefits we are seeing & feeling we can continue and even improve on.

Hello all. After my active (ish) week of good eating last week I feel like I'm at peak bloat for the month now and scales up a lb. 🙄 Trying to just carrying on eating as well as I can.

Not had time to catch up on what I've missed, but sending positive thoughts to everyone 💪💪

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 10/09/2019 21:17

Good Evening All,

I'm not very active but I am reading.

Keeping myself on track and feeling very good about things moving on.

Will check in properly soon.

cheesenpickles · 10/09/2019 21:19

I've been grazing like nobody's business today. Still sub 1500 calories and under 40g of carbs but I've eaten many many babybels and succumbed to a pack of pickled onion monster munch. The weather change is killing me. I need to get my activity up for sure. Currently strolling round the block to try and hit 10k steps.

SunshineCake · 10/09/2019 21:57

Flowers @RiddleyW

I've had a few crisps and a square or two of chocolate tonight. Not going to feel bad. In fact I don't. I felt hungry, wanted them, had enough, not hungry, learning.

Off to bed now. Therapy tomorrow.

Knitclubchatter · 11/09/2019 06:14

end of the day over here, i had a good day food choice wise, and was productive in the home.
and got in my 10,000+ steps. although mostly on flat ground and i usually do lots of hills.
i'll be up early in the am with my second market day!

cheesenpickles · 11/09/2019 07:27

0.7lb off and woken up ill with a scratchy throat and snotty nose. Think that explains the grazing. Have absolutely no appetite today either (though it's early and no where near my window, I can usually work out what I'll make for dinner etc). Hope everybody has a good day x

BustedDreams · 11/09/2019 10:01

Morning Lovelies 😊

@cheesenpickles oh no. I loathe sore throats, they always make me want to be sick 🤢. Nice little loss though!

@SunshineCake you’re making great strides. Hope all goes well at your session today!

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa Glad to hear you’re still with us and making progress.

I had very early start today as delivery men were here for 7:00am. We now have bed frames and a dining table and chairs. Bliss.

Sending positives vibes to you all.

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/09/2019 12:15

Sounds like great progress @BustedDreams

Keep going ladies @galvantula you'll get there. If you persevere as best you can, it will pay off.

I did half an hour of core stuff with Adrienne last night on top of quite a bit of walking, so hurt today. Will be a gentle stretch tonight!

Thinking of you @RiddleyW

Catch up with you all later.

Knitclubchatter · 11/09/2019 16:28

Hello everyone, I’m at the market! Wt down a smidge 153.7 and plan on walking hourly.

doadeer · 11/09/2019 17:30

I haven't posted in the September chat but remember lots of you from the lovely August thread.

I thought my weightless had stagnated and I was feeling despondent.... Turns out my scales were broken! Weighed in at my mums and I was another 6lbs down in a month!

So July I was 14st, August 12st 12lbs and now 12st 6. I need to be 11st 11 to be a healthy BMI as I'm 5ft 8.

Im so proud of myself as I've had a teething then poorly baby, surviving on a couple hours sleep and I've been going to the physio this week who advised I can't do any exercise at the moment as I'm still suffering with PGP from pregnancy and my pelvis is very unstable.

I'm going to have a good catch up on everyone stories and progress! 🌟👏

cheesenpickles · 11/09/2019 19:10

I'm currently roaming the streets with my vape to get my steps to 10k Grin

Had a cracking dinner, slightly adapted from one of Joe Wicks' books. Pork loin steaks with a mayo made from those jarred red peppers and garlic with a load of broccoli. Was blurry lovely.

Now just hitting my steps before a La Croix with a Babybel and non-kilt-kat-kit-kat chaser.

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/09/2019 19:58

Amazing stuff @doadeer

Grin @cheesenpickles hope you're back in the warmth now.

I did half an hour of gentle flexibility yoga. Planning on a good walk and swimming tomorrow.

Sleep well all you losers Halo
