Following on from the July thread for those who wish to carry on and for new joiners alike.

Ive been inspired by the ladies who posted on the July thread. There have been some awesome losses.

Not quite the end of the month and I’ve achieved my July goal of getting below the elusive 140lbs. As of this morning I was 139.6lbs, bmi 27.3. Down from 145.9lbs, bmi 28.5.

I’m doing a lower carb Mediterranean diet. Plenty of veg, some berries, salad, olive oil, butter, cream, fish, chicken and some red meat. Occasionally I will have whole grain rice and gluten free pasta (good for my micro biome). I rarely drink alcohol. Chocolate can be my downfall Grin. I naturally only want to eat twice a day. I’ve read that intermittent fasting can be beneficial in the battle of the bulge as well as keeping blood sugars in check.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

I have done yoga and loved it @MrsJonesandMe, I will look at the one you mentioned, thanks. Great weight loss by the way, well done. Night all, new week, new start, we've got this. Thank you for the support on here, it really helps.

@MarvelMum3 well done for keeping track of all the thread responses whilst also sleep deprived! Hope tonight isn't too bad.

@Cary2012 excellent plan! I went to the gym today, felt way better for it.

I had a good and very easy lunch today which kept me full all afternoon. Amazingly the kids ate some too. If anyone wants to try... serves 4

Pack of green beans, topped/tailed and chopped in thirds
2 tins of mixed beans in water (got from Tesco but I think most places sell - mixture of different types of beans eg haricot beans)
Packet of parsley
Olive oil, mustard and white wine vinegar for dressing

Just boil the green beans, drain the tinned beans, add the chopped parsley and dressing, et voila!

Kids ate with some delicious fresh olive bread but I bravely resisted!

I've been doing dance-based fitness classes for years and years, but have realised that although they are fun and quite good for cardio, they have done little to impact the strenghth I have (or don't have) in my right thigh and glutes. The physio was sceptical when I spoke to her after asking for a referral, then poked my bum and agreed that yes, things were definitely less firm and more floppy on that side.

The hip used to dislocate if I put my weight on it in some positions and therefore I started compensating and still do so today. It took 5 years for them to realise the problem and to operate and I still favour the other leg. So I'm no stronger.

So it's the gym. I have 4 weeks to hit it as much as I (sensibly) can so will prob have a rest day tomorrow and go again on Tues.

I also have a month remaining at my dance fitness centre so will do West End Workout - great fun - on Wednesday (if I can move!)

Bit of day off for me. Run and 16,500 steps which is good. Didn’t eat too bad but has some French bread with my salad at lunch. Plus Spanish omelette. Dinner was 1/3rd of a pizza plus salad. And 2 more alcoholic drinks than normal Blush

Just quickly checking in before bed! 18 hour fast today then a cheese sandwich for lunch with a few cherry toms and some chickpea puff crisps DS wanted to try. Tea was 2 veggie sausages with sweet potato fries and carrots and peas followed by a jelly pot. My calories were just under 900 so I allowed myself that little bar of galaxy too whilst we were watching a film and came in just under 1200 so happy with that Smile

Given how much I ate yesterday, I can’t see myself being hungry for breakfast. Infact I never used to eat breakfast when I was on shifts so I’m pondering the whole IM fasting route. I’m just a bit worried about getting so hungry that I won’t be able to concentrate at work but I will certainly do it today then see what happens the rest of the week.

So food today;
Lunch - Chicken salad and fruit

Whoops posted too soon.
Dinner - bbq leftovers; 2 sausages, coleslaw, potato salad, corn on the cobb and coleslaw.
Fruit for snacks.

1150 calories
Exercise wise I will be riding the horse and I’m going for a walk with a friend.
I’ll bring a cereal bar incase I get ravenous before lunch as I may need to ease myself in a bit!

I haven't found it too bad @Foreverlexicon but I didn't set out planning IF and might not do it daily. I started with 14 hours first.

Plan for today... hot chocolate at soft play with my own bar of nuts and seeds, chicken salad with new potatoes at lunch, fruit and nuts in case of nibbles and tea as yet undecided.

My period has showed up so no idea how that will impact either my eating or my weight Hmm

@DrMadelineMaxwell that sounds almost negligent of the medical staff! Hope that you can finally recover now.

Morning all. I’m really impressed at some great focus from people. It really helps to read.

I’ve pretty much maintained so far this month. I’ve had my kids at my flat this weekend so we’ve been out and about, it was never going to be fabulous in terms of deficit but I have come in under what I’ve burned. Mostly because we’ve walked a lot, over 20,000 steps each day.

Today I’ve got it all planned

Breakfast - Huel shake
lunch - grain salad, skyr, raspberries, pretzels and a flatbread
Dinner spelt roll and fish fingers and salad
Snack - Huel bar

I’ll come in a little over my planned 1500 but I’m aiming for a run tonight.

Morning all. Just about to go for my morning run. Will have a stricter day today to make up for my blow out yesterday.

Egg white and banana omlette for breakfast
Chicken salad for lunch
Not sure where we are eating out tonight but will choose meat/fish and veggies.
No wine or ice cream today but will have a couple of gin and slimline tonics

Lol I gained 1.5lbs overnight but I think I was dehydrated yesterday so I'm sure I'm moving in the right direction. My body fat went down 2% as well so not feeling overly dissuaded. I did have about 1400 calories yesterday too so higher than I've been having.

I've got a portion left of my soup which I'll have for dinner tonight's and do the kids and husband a freezer dive dinner. Booked to do Clubbercise on Thursday which should be a giggle as well. Desperate to get signed back up at the gym but time poor and kids at home during the holidays means no go for now.

Some really motivated people here. Really love these threads.
