Woke to stunning weather here, looking forward to a walk later. I’ve was over a bit Friday, over a lot yesterday. I had been doing great but just got eat everything’itis when I sat down after dinner. No big deal, still under on average. But the problem was I’d lots of treats in from having visitors so once willpower was lowered, it was difficult to resist.
Re did my measurements yesterday and down over 5 inches all round, 1 off waist, 1.5 off bust, 1 off eack thigh, and a bit off calves & upper arms. Really good insight into how much fluid I was carrying. Day 6 of no scales, less anxious about. As I heard on a podcast yesterday, a scale has yet to lose weight for a person!
+.04 life, that’s minuscule I’d call that a maintain. Not sure what your goal is though at the moment.
It’s so good to enjoy lovely food curvy, better to have it than remember missing out. It’s not like it’s everyday. Did you get the haircut?

15st and 3/4 of a pound consistently for three days. That’s the lowest for me for a while. Still about 4.5 stones from where I’d ideally like to be mind you but realistically that’ll never happen

So true not, yes I did get my hair cut.
Weight this morning 80.2kg, which means I have maintained. No surprise really.

I have been very lax on the exercise part, so I have to come up with a plan to get me moving more. I just need to stop making excuses.
I go on holiday in just over three weeks and would like to feel a bit better for when I go.

The revelation for me on exercise curvy was that it didn’t have to be all out crazy stuff like intense hiit 5 days a week or boot camps at bonkers o’clock or running day in day out. After I hurt my back I had to restrict myself to walking, and when I started running again it hurt my hips. So for now I’m just aiming to walk brisk enough 1-1.5 hours a day, not necessarily all at once. I lose no less that’s for sure as I was eating more when I did crazy stuff. I’m reintroducing weights, started today but only did 30 minutes. I have no doubt I’ll be in agony tomorrow but it’ll pass. Maybe set yourself an increased step goal for the next 3 weeks, you’d see a difference doing that.
Glad you’re seeing a stable weight wolf, maybe 4.5 stone is ambitious, maybe not but when I saw what you said I got a flash back to the saying if you say you won’t, you won’t. I suppose you could ask yourself why you can’t. And anyway looking at the whole picture can be offputting. Be a great exercise to see can you maintain where you are now for another week or 2, then you’d have a baseline you could introduce a reasonable deficit and aim for a modest loss. Slow weight loss over time beats fast weighloss that usually only results in a gain.

Thanks for the encouragement not, I can try to get more steps in. I think I'm also going to look on the nhs site, they have exercises that take about 10 minutes, I can definitely fit that in each day.

Maintaining and surviving are the current goals. Getting back into fitness without further injury.

Afternoon! Have eaten lots and drink a fair bit too. Pizza for dinner then back on it tomorrow. Attached is a photo of some noodle chicken thing I had. It was amazing 😋

Ooh that looks nice wreck
Had a roast chicken dinner here, much enjoyed after all the rich food on holidays. All meals have been super simple since we’ve got home - been craving the most normal of foods.
That’s a good goal life, injury free is key.

10 minute workouts sound very doable, 3 weeks of more steps/increased exercise/measured calories will see less of you on holidays for sure😉

I guesstimated 900 calories there about for this roast lunch, plus a pure orange and a quarter, if that, of jam sponge and custard. Does that sound about right?

Looks nice wreck

The veg would be very low unless buttered, can’t see how much chicken you have there. My roast chicken, edible portion cooked, so no skin was 170 cals per 100 grams. Mash would depend on how it’s made, with butter & milk bumps it up a bit. I’d say you might be overestimating unless you were including the sponge/custard and a glass of OJ (250ml probably 100 cals)
Looks 😋
Bloody cake is shocking cals, I bought a coffee/walnut thing from Tesco - tiny it was, 1/6th of it was 67g and nearly 300 cals!!
I’m sharing a pitta pizza with himself as we’re just a bit peckish - only 140 per half I reckon. I have 109 left after that which I’d say I’ll go over a little but I did a lot today, over 20,000 and 30 mins weights

Hi all, I'm new to this kind of thread but going to find (& show) advice & support. For the last few weeks I have been slowly, slowly losing weight. I have massively reduced carb intake and upped salad intake. I don't eat til I'm hungry, rarely want breakfast and never eat after 7pm. I rarely drink. I kid you not that I have gained 1.5lb in 2 days. I'm so disappointed. I really could increase my exercise, though always busy I'm not taking time out to exercise as such. But gaining? How did I gain. I've lost weight before but it Jas never been so slow or so hard. I'm 45 and was around 11st 10 but now 11st 5.5

The 900 is all in food and drinks. It was lush. I'm going to leave it as tracked as not been very active today.

Stray weight fluctuates. Do you weigh weekly or daily. Are you coming up to totm, eaten salty stuff, not had lots of water. All can lead to increases.

Also did fbw today. But steps only on 8k.

That looks so good life it's been ages since I had a good roast.

Stray I can easily go up a pound or two for no reason but it soon comes off again.

Lifelong I've been weighing every couple of days. I feel it keeps me engaged and in the moment Just passed TOTM, not aware of anything salty. Craving cold sparkling water & lime so hydrated I think. It is just so much harder this time. Thanks both for reassurance.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/07/2019 19:29

Stray, keep the faith. It will come back off.

Total success there life😉

Flux is a common conversation on here stray, it’s a total head melt I know. Welcome to the mad house😬 Unless you ate 5000+ cals over your tdee you didn’t truly gain 1.5lb, if you’re experiencing cravings for water you mightn’t be as hydrated as you think - you could be retaining water. And you mention totm, could be part of it too. I bet that extra will be gone by midweek, weightloss isn’t linear sadly.

Hmm I wondered about craving water. Usually that means a level of dehydration.
There might be no other reasons for craving......?

Report
Not2bObvious · 14/07/2019 20:12

Excessive thirst can be an indicator for diabetes I think? But I’m sure it’s just plain old thirst, maybe it’s an myth but it was said if you were thirsty you’d let yourself get dehydrated. These warm days I’d say it’s normal to need more water. I’ve drank around 3 litres today

Thanks for the welcome Not2 and the advice. No fear about the craving (unless the second coming of our Lord be upon us), I think the hit of cold, sparkling lime water just hits the spot instead of wine. I will try to up water and down coffee.

This week is best behaviour and gold stars.
6 weeks after that everyone fed, no one dead and a bit of movement

Eugh. Weight up lots. I've been awake since 2:30 gastroparesis playing up. I expect if I phoned my manager she would tell me to take the day off, I would still get paid, but would feel awful taking a day off just because I'm tired. Coffee it is.
