Hi everyone!

I’m starting a VLCD (Slim and Save) on 1st Jan and wondering is anyone starting too? Or Cambridge, Exabte etc and maybe we could keep each other motivated?

Rough day - been to the loo so often I've needed bepanthen 😳

Eliza9917 · 18/01/2019 22:02

I had a sore arse yesterday. The paper at work is cheap Hmm Grin

I'm nearly through day 3, no big mishaps, yesterday I had a few pork scratchings and I'm about to have a tiny bit of cheese and a gherkin. Much better than my usual Friday vodka & pizza.

rainbowgrimm · 19/01/2019 08:40

I'm actually a bit jealous of those of you going to the toilet so often, it's a twice a week half hour job here Blush

Pitapotamus · 19/01/2019 13:35

I have a constipation prescription for my baby which I had a swig of today in an attempt to help things along! May account for my lack of weight loss.

I messed up the diet two days in a row thurs/fri. Back on from this morning though and I’m going to remove the battery from my scales as the lack of weight loss is affecting my morale! As is the weather and my kids bickering (still!!)

CookPassBabtridge · 19/01/2019 13:59

I'm the opposite, I've been on it 2 months and can't remember the last time I farted Grin I almost miss it!

Eliza9917 · 19/01/2019 21:42

How's everyone doing halfway through the weekend? This is my worst time for willpower.

We're on the road, about to head home now, still got about 1hr 30 til we get back, craving a kebab right now! We normally end up eating mcds and we did end up in there earlier but I had a grilled chicken salad. Still not had my 3rd product yet, because I knew we'd be back late I didn't want to have it too early.

Pitapotamus · 19/01/2019 22:22

I’m struggling but haven’t cracked. It’s not that I want a massive unhealthy meal, I just want a normal healthy meal, just anything!!

MissElaineNeus · 20/01/2019 04:25

I'm doing OK, but agree the weekend are the worse. Hunger wise I've totally got used to it, but when it was freezing cold yesterday, and dark, I really wanted to sit in front of the fire with a glass of something and then have a lovely hot meal.

Instead I had a packet of cheesy pasta and a cup of tea.

rainbowgrimm · 20/01/2019 07:37

Well done on staying strong in the face of MacDonalds Eliza, I don't think I could of done that.
I had a lovely day yesterday, a local yoga studio/therapy centre had an open day with mini classes and treatments for a charity donation. I did 3 mini classes and had a 20 min massage and floated around for the rest of the day.
I'm doing a photography online course so today I'm going to be busy doing my homework for that - it's so much easier when I've got something to do to keep me busy. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

NorfolkEnchance · 20/01/2019 08:02

I was also in mcdonalds yesterday with the children as they wanted nuggets. I had a sad bottle of water and gazed longingly at the chips they barely touched.
Not really feeling hungry during the day but really struggled last night, doubt the two chocolate buttons I ate would have affected the diet though...

Pitapotamus · 20/01/2019 08:57

Which photography online course are you doing rainbow? I’d love to do something like that.

rainbowgrimm · 20/01/2019 09:12

@Pitapotamus it's photography for parents - they're honestly AMAZING. You get online stuff to work through, a weekly live webinar & a Facebook group with the other students & teachers. The teachers are brilliant, really engaging and make things really clear. I think it's the webinar that makes it so different to other courses, they're really good and are recorded if you can't see it live. I went to bed early last night to watch mine from earlier in the week, it's like being with friends. You do a homework assignment each week and get personal feedback. I'm doing level 2 which is fully manual (scary!).
They do some free mini 'bootcamps' through the year for you to try before you buy. I had my camera 5years before I did the course, I learnt more in the first lesson than I'd managed on my own in that time! They're on Facebook and Instagram. I'm going to do the editing course after ive finished this one. I love them.

Eliza9917 · 20/01/2019 10:31

That sounds amazing pita, I've always wanted to do photography too.

Rainbow, you might live near me! There was a leaflet in my gym the other day about a yoga and mindfulness day at st peters. I thought about going but forgot about it. Wouldn't that be funny if it was the same one lol.

Eliza9917 · 20/01/2019 10:31

Sorry, I got names mixed up there Confused

Eliza9917 · 20/01/2019 10:34

Oh yeah, we're back out today for a 5yr olds bday party so there's going to be cake. I'm going to try to stick to a caramel crunch bar & cup of tea and hope he isn't taking notice of who has cake!

rainbowgrimm · 20/01/2019 10:56

It wasn't St Peters so probably not near by. It was really good though so if you've got similar nearby I'd recommend it, I sometimes go to yoga classes but tried yin yoga, restorative yoga and hatha flow. I hadn't done any of them before. Yin is 'slow yoga' so you hold each pose for longer but are supported with blocks/boulsters to help. Restorative was in-between a massage and a warm hug, it's all done lying down and I felt fabulous after. I've booked in to do both as it feels like a treat to go and I need to establish non food treats and rewards to help me long term I think.
I'm now up to 12.2lb, that first stone is in sight!

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2019 10:59

Sounds like you are doing great! Photography, yoga, mindfulness, it all sounds wonderful! I'm still in hibernation mode. Still trying to de-clutter the house, but all I want to do is crawl back to bed. Kids and I going to a garden centre in a while which will be good. I tried to avoid the scales yesterday but gave in at the end of the day which is not going to give a true reading but I was a pound heavier than when I last weighed so can only assume a woosh is due soon. As basically have either stayed the same or put on in the past week. Feeling determined to keep going though.

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2019 11:37

That should read, sounds like you are all doing great!

Littlemissdaredevil · 20/01/2019 11:41

Not sure how on plan this is but I went to Nando’s yesterday and had half a plain chicken (took the skin off), corn on the cob, green leafy salad, and water.

Did my first couch to 5k run today and treated myself to a skinny latte afterwards

I’ve lost a stone since 1st Jan. Only 3 more stone to go!

rainbowgrimm · 20/01/2019 12:08

I need to keep busy, if I don't I'll eat!

Pitapotamus · 20/01/2019 12:40

I’m the same kittens. I’ve lost nothing now since 9th jan!! I’m just ignoring the scales for a bit now as it’s too demotivating. I’m in hibernation mode most of the time, on the sofa with a coat and a blanket refusing to move unless one of the kids might actually kill themselves or another, it’s no good for anyone. I’m trying not to do that today as it probably part of the reason for my lack of weightloss!

NorfolkEnchance · 20/01/2019 20:07

It's OK to punch my DH who is insisting on watching a documentary about hotel chocolat right?

Eliza9917 · 20/01/2019 20:16

I didn't make it through. But I see it as learning to eat at events and not letting it become a week of eating what I like. Back on it tomorrow.

rainbowgrimm · 20/01/2019 20:27

Definitely Norfolk, my husband ordered a dominos for lunch yesterday (to be fair he had just run 15miles).
Well done anyway Eliza, I bet you had less than you would of had a few weeks ago and you're right learning how to function normally is important.
I'm on a course tomorrow at a posh hotel with lunch included. My plan is if there's no-one I need to be social with (sometimes you know no-one, sometimes it's a full uni reunion) I'll nip out to the car and have a shake and read Mumsnet. If I need to be social I'll have meat and salad.

NorfolkEnchance · 21/01/2019 07:24

I lost 16lb!
