Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 4

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/03/2018 21:12

Hello, welcome to the fourth instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost 869 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing! Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Post Glad to hear you found your keys. Amazing weight loss! Your positivity is really inspriring. Hope you are keeping well.

Great to read about everyone's journeys, struggles and successes, highs and lows - really helps to keep things in perspective.

For the first time I've managed to wait a whole week to weigh... roll on tomorrow morning!

Got the shopping coming today which is really exciting - love having the shopping delivered.

Lol my dd is forcing me to stay in track today!

As it’s a busy one I’m having 6 small meals today and one of them was going to be a brown roll with ham. Apparently not anymore as dd’s decided that’s her lunch today and it’s the last roll!

I’m delaying my weigh in till tomorrow as I want to have a pre holiday weigh in. It’ll probably do me good to not have any scales available to me for the week however two sort of ‘danger’ points to me is keeping myself on track while being fexiable for the week and also due on around the time I’m back so not going to be the most motivating weigh in post holiday. This may be when measuring myself might help.

Hope everyone’s having a good day and no one’s food is being stolen!

honeysucklejasmine · 23/03/2018 13:36

Hi all.

Post! 7 stone? That's amazing!! That's my target too and I am so inspired that you've done it! Well done you! Also reassured slightly by your skin situation. You're so close to your target now!

Fezzes DD likes nothing better than helping herself to my carefully weighed out snacks!

Last two days I've had around 400 cals left over. Today, I've had lunch, programmed in dinner and I've still got 750. (250 from allowance + 500 for breastfeeding) it's not ideal honestly. I need to use them but I don't want to get to habit of a post dinner binge to use them up. I can't leave them as it'll effect my milk supply. It's very annoying! I'm trying to get used to eating lighter meals and I'm doing it too successfully! facepalm Will definitely have a mid afternoon snack, but don't want it to be something terrible as that's not helpful to me. (There's a fresh baked crusty white loaf in my kitchen, begging for a doorstep slice covered in butter and jam...)

LittleBearinaBigWorld · 23/03/2018 14:06

Honeysuckle Our flat is an absolute bugger for off-limits treats lying around! Partner doesn't put on weight no matter what he does, so at the minute there are Mars Bars, Snickers, homemade bread, chocolate bars, crisps, etc, absolutely bloody everywhere! The sheer willpower it takes not to throw it out in a hissy fit is immense.

Can you incorporate snacks into your day? I find it really hard to do that when I'm not hungry, but of course for you it will be extra important.

Well, the shopping delivery has come. So exciting! We decided to be a bit extravagant this week and used Ocado only because they gave us a voucher and it worked out cheaper so I feel very posh. Grin

I've been meaning to post a couple of pictures of what I've been eating because I'm really proud of myself. I've always cooked from scratch every evening but the big changes I've made have been during the day. I now eat my lunch on a side plate and haven't been snacking really. When I have, it's been good choices like fruit.

I can't take very good photos on an evening because the flat gets quite dark, we've been looking for some lamps for ages but my partner is really fussy. In my photos though, there's a jacket potato, normally with which I'd have butter, beans and cheese, or something similar. But as you can see I had it with cottage cheese, broccoli and ham! There's also a chicken, leek and ham pie, which is amazing.

Wow those pictures look great!

Honey, dd has had half the roll and licked the other half, supposed that stops me trying to eat the leftovers!

AnotherOtter · 23/03/2018 17:25

Moonlight, they say on the low carb bootcamp board here that once you are through the initial few days of adaptation to eating low carb that your sugar cravings disappear, as long as you stick to a low enough amount. Apparently it is because your insulin levels remain steady. Insulin normally rises with glucose to get the glucose out of the blood and into cells. So you don't get the 'hangry' feeling that a high insulin level provokes. There's not the research to prove or disprove this theory. But anecdotally it seems quite a common experience. How do your mother and sister find it? I am tempted to try it as, like I've posted on here, I have a problem with binging and I'd quite like to experiment. Like Tractors, the thing that really puts me off is the lack of fibre. Your body is going through a lot just now with your thyroid and hormonal changes with stopping the Pill so no wonder getting the scales to shift is not happening. It's so frustrating but hang in there Thanks

Well done, Post, with your seven stone milestone! You are doing so well Star What a week you're having, hope it settles down soon.

Great job with your stairs running NSV, Fezzes. Stuff like that really keeps me going.

Nobeach, I don't drink alcohol at all and really struggled with giving it up. I was a problem drinker and it interfered with my mood. It is tough at first, especially socially, but now I don't even think of it. If someone put a drink in front of me now I'd genuinely not be interested. So hang in there, habits can change.

I am a little ray of sunshine this week and the scales not moving again is making me even more pissed off. It is making me realise how invested I am in the idea of being 'successful' in losing weight. The threads about stopping dieting are really making me think and evaluate what I am doing with my time and energy.

fezzesarecool · 23/03/2018 20:23

Thanks Otter! It’s little things like that that are making me think wow I’m really seeing progress.

I think the thing about that not dieting thread is a relaxed version of what I’m doing. I’m counting calories but if I go above my goal limit but within reason eg not binging then I’m ok with that as I’m exercising. I’m allowing myself what food I want as long as it’s portion control and the biggest thing is that I’m exercising.

My friend said to me that she doesn’t like to think of this as dieting but making better balanced choices which I like that kind of thinking.

So for now I’m finding counting calories is keeping the portion size in control and seeing as my dd ate my roll I had some chocolate today! Just need to stop weighing myself all the time! So definitely can’t join that thread as I do think a lot about what I’m eating and obsessed with the scales.

fezzesarecool · 23/03/2018 20:28

Although saying that, still freaking out over holiday! I’ve worked out a ‘good’ Burger King meal and going to have weight watchers ready meals

honeysucklejasmine · 23/03/2018 20:56

Sorry you're feeling down, AnotherOtter. I've not read the other thread, so I'm not sure what it's about, so I don't know what to say. But Flowers for you anyway. You've been a huge help to me and I think you're fabulous. Also, my autocorrect now suggests your username when I type "another". 👍

So, I did have a doorstep bit of toast and marmalade. But just one slice. If anything I am proud of myself for just having one, and not getting lost in buttery deliciousness and eating the rest of the loaf. Go me.

I'd agree that I'm seeing this more as a permanent lifestyle change. I'm learning good habits, so by the time I've reached target hopefully they'll be second nature and I'll naturally make better choices.

Hopefully.

libertysilk · 23/03/2018 21:07

Hi. I'd like to join too please. Had dd almost 9 weeks ago. I'm 5ft 7 and weigh 14st 2. Most I've ever weighed!! How do I start? I'm desperate to loose weight. Am bf lo so need to bear that in mind. Any support/advice gratefully received.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 23/03/2018 21:26

Hi liberty - congrats on your new arrival. I'm not sure I can be much help, as I'll be ecstatic when my scales read the same as your starting weight! However, would suggest taking the time to research what will suit you and your lifestyle. We're all doing different things on this thread, but using My Fitness Pal is probably the most common.

Will do a proper post tomorrow!

Hi everyone. Just checking in.
Amazing weight loss post
Stressful day with dc today but managed to not comfort eat. Really cross though that I missed out on some exercise. Will have to take kids for a walk tomorrow.

fezzesarecool · 23/03/2018 22:14

I started using my fitness pal because of this thread and love it! Really keeping me on track and after a little bit makes the meal planning so much easier!

I agree with tractor, I’d love to be your starting weight!

Moonandstars84 · 24/03/2018 01:57

Agree My Fitness Pal is fab although it doesn't seem to count my steps on my tracker as exercise. I did 17000 steps the other day and got a big fat zero allowance.
I just wish I used it back in 2016 when I lost a load of weight for surgery. Instead I went back to my old ways and ended up a stone heavier than I was before I lost the weight.

fezzesarecool · 24/03/2018 07:16

Just done my weigh in!

Start 278

Last week 255
Week 5 Exercise Week 2 Calorie counting
This week 247

Week loss -8
Total loss -31

Goal 146
Left 101
Start 132

So happy, I’m am a couple of days late with weighing in but I’ve checked my measurements too and lost around a inch in different places since last week too.

I can officially say that my BMI after almost 10 year’s day I’m not in morbid obesity category.

Still a long way to go and lots of things to overcome but at this stage I feel so good.

moonlight1705 · 24/03/2018 07:43

LittleBearinaBigWorld · 24/03/2018 08:39

honeysucklejasmine · 24/03/2018 09:55

Great job moonlight and bear. Well done both! Lovely milestone too Bear.

Today we're going to go to the park so should get some exercise in following toddler DD round.

Weighing in tomorrow. I had a coil fitted this week so not expecting great things as the hormones settle.

Nobeachbody · 24/03/2018 11:18

Fezzes that's amazing. 8lbs in a week is very good going. How many weeks gave you been on your plan for now? I

Feeling quite proud of myself for not having had any booZe since Tuesday, tho sadly that doesn't seem to be reflected on the scales. Still plateauing, boringly. But I'm sleeping better, feeling refreshed and finding it so much easier to eat more sensibly than when I'm vaguely hungover. I'm
Not giving up alcohol
Completely as I know that's unrealistic but trying to drink in moderation and mindfully, rather than just habitually pouring myself a glass because it's 7pm
And I feel I deserve a treat. But going out with friends later for a drink so am going to be sensible and stick to 3 drinks max. Planning in advance is really heldpfuk as it means you are less likely than make impulsive decisions, same as food I guess!

Moonandstars84 · 24/03/2018 12:13

Amazing weigh losses. Will post mine later.

Moonandstars84 · 24/03/2018 12:24

Worked it out. Week four

Total lost 12 pounds
