After two children and with mid 40s approaching I really need to sort my weight out. I'm on a 4 stone mission for 2018- this time next year I want to be 4 stone lighter. Anyone want to join me on this mission? You're support would be great and we can share our sorrow at the lack of chocolatey goods together

I have a smidge over two stone to get my bmi under 30, so another two on top of that would be fantastic. It's made awkward by my health, but I am utterly on the wagon this time (she says...)

My stomach is now nothing short of disgusting so I have to ditch the rubbish as I cannot face summer being nearly 15 stone! 🙁

whowhatwhy my clubbercise class was all different ages and most of us are a bit overweight. In 25 and the youngest by quite a bit. The class is hard work but I am unfit and I manage to get through it, there are low intensity versions if you need to slow down. I can feel it in my legs the day after. You don't have to be a good dancer or anything most of us are doing the wrong thing at some point in the class but it's more about having fun. I go with my mum and her friends so they are all 45+

My dinner is gorgeous. I have chilli and garlic pork belly slice, avocado and scrambled egg. Sounds like a bit of a weird combo, but it's stunning!

4st here. I’m doing WW Flex online, walking more and cycling when I can.

5lbs lost first week. Hoping to get to target by 30 August.

I'd like to join too as like many of you, lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago and have put it all back on bar about three quarters of a stone Sad

I just need to eat less and move more which worked before - I also have a couple of days where I am for under 1000 calories.. a sort of cheaty 5:2 Grin. I've done my knee is since then so not sure how much exercise I can manage but will be giving it my all!

I weigh myself in kilos as it sounds smaller - am just under 90kgs at the mo

Please can I join? No idea how much I need to lose as I refuse to weigh just yet but I know it's at least 2 stone. At least. Returning to work this month after a year of maternity leave. Biggest I've ever been. And turn 40 this year so would like to feel attractive and slim for this as well as a holiday.
My nemesis - wine, portion control.
Plan - smaller portions, bulk with fruit and veg, no snacks unless fruit/veg and dramatic reduction in wine. Can't go tee total. Too much to bear!! Good luck everyone. Let's do this!

LadyG, when I have a bottle of wine, I've switched to B black tower wine (it's cheap but tastes decent enough) which is low alcohol and therefore lower calorie, with soda water.

The whole bottle is only 330cals Wink

beyond

I discovered i only like a few of the flavours as some of the bars have a different texture

I am having two a day and a few coffees

So the flavours i have are chocolate orange, toffee and raisin and lemon (apparently), i have just ordered rasberry and white chocolate to try...they are like rice krispie bars

I am a bit peckish but im holding out for the last bar...i am probably being stricter than i need to be as i want to see if i can do it

I did a juice fast quite a few years ago just to see if I could. It was effective and I maintained for quite a few years but slipped back into bad habits. Under active thyroid doesnt help

I spotted some chocolate and caramel MR bars in Asda that looked quite nice, are you doing a particular brand?

Extante

Sil did it a few years ago and i was so nosy that i had to have a go Grin

Calorie counting has worked the best for me so i will move over to doing that gradually

Liking the top tip about the Black Tower though Grin

Would I be able to join you please? Got on the scales on 1 Jan to find I was 15st3 Shock at just under 5’10 that’s really not great. I play an active sport once a week but eat far, far too much.

DP is on the journey with me but he’s a bit of an overachiever and so will no doubt do really well whereas I might falter and would appreciate some likeminded support!

Can I join too please? I need to lose at least 3 stone, 4 ideally, but have found it so hard to do in the last few years. Had success with SW in the past but can't seem to stay motivated now. Seems to have got much more difficult since I reached mid 40s. My plan is to stop the snacking and up the exercise, would be good to have company along the way.

Having had a rubbish good day today I cannot let this go on so I’m on it tomorrow! My goal is May to get down to a decent size. I hate feeling like I do. So unattractive and frumpy and uncomfortable. I’m embarrassed and it’s stopping me doing so much.

How's everyone going?
I am on day 7 alcohol free & have been making sure to do my 10,000 steps a day on my Fitbit.
By plan is to swim 5k a week and walk more in general.
I MUST RESIST FINISHING OFF THE KIDS FISHFINGERS TOO!!!

Hi all.
Wondering if anyone can help. Decided that exercise is my New Years resolution. I started early and since the 23rd of December I’ve been doing half an hour on a training bike every day, burning about 180 calories each time. It’s tough going as I was seriously not fit at all. I’ve now increased it to 35 minutes.
Eating wise I’m doing ok but nothing drastic. Daily food looks like this.
Tea
Coffee
Weetabix
Soup or a sandwich
Piece of fruit
Square of choc
Chicken casserole with rice or other normal dinner

My issue is that I’m not losing weight. I’ve lost pretty much nothing. Yikes. I had a baby 8 months ago and just want to increase my confidence a bit before I go back to work, losing at least a stone would be good. BMI is in the overweight range.

What am I doing wrong?
Confused

1sttime if what you're doing isn't working I really recommend checking out the mn low carb boot camp. There's a new one starting today. I lost a stone on the last one and am about to do it again. The threads on it are really helpful and I've found its a sustainable way of eating.

Hey Unicorn. I'm doing Weightwatchers - I'm always banging on about it on here! I love it. But what I wanted to say here is that even if you don't embrace the program it really does make you realise how every thing counts so looking at your day's food:

Tea and Coffee - how much milk are you having per day? I like milky drinks. I measure out 1/2 pint for the day (of ss) and add some water and keep that in the fridge for my coffees
Weetabix - ditto milk?
Soup or a sandwich - bread on WW is very point heavy. Eg I am allowed 23 points for the day. 2 slices of seeded bread = 8 points!
Piece of fruit - good Smile
Square of choc - as long as it doesn't lead to the rest of the bar too
Chicken casserole with rice or other normal dinner - how much rice? have 2 heaped tbsp or as a treat 3 - it's not a lot!

So, like I say, even if you don't go full on WW it does make you re-look at what and how much you eat.
