Hello Ladies! I know its early but Id like to see the interest for starting a weight loss group beginning of January. I find it so hard to stay on track when the results are very slow, it would be awesome to have someone to run to to say remind me why I shouldn't eat this delicious sausage roll thats already pressed to my lips! Id like to post meals and recipes with some people that are in the same boat as myself! Life is busy and sometimes convenience food is quicker and easier and it makes you feel good until its eaten. So who else out there would like that little bit more motivation! We can do this together! Smile

@Peopleplease I was thinking of doing an exercise dvd and some aqua aerobics classes. I can't do anything more strenuous, and I think that doing more low key stuff is better anyway because you're more likely t keep it up Grin

I'll also join. I can't diet as I'm 32 weeks pregnant, but I want to eat more healthily for the last 2 months and then focus on weight loss and fitness at a later date Smile.

@teaandtoast. I have a few exercise videos ready to go. Time is my issue, I’m a SAHM to a 1 year old and 4 year old. So even when the 4 year old is out at preschool I have the 1 year old to fall over if I try and do a video while she’s awake (and she’s a rubbish sleeper, a mouse breathing would wake her!)

My point was why not just scale back a bit immediately?! Totally wrong frame of mind to think.... I’ll stuff myself and then diet 1st Jan.

If you want to get the weight off and keep it off, you need to change your mind set. And “stuffing” yourself with a view to dieting in new year is daft!

Today, today! Make the choice to have a smaller portion and no seconds. You’ll still enjoy your good. Just a bit less of it.

I'm in, now have about 2 stone to lose. I'm the heaviest ever and it's making my bursitis and arthritis loads worse.
Will be deciding on a 'Body Fit by Amy' excercise routine from You Tube - she is amazing has hundred's of videos including low impact pregnancy safe routines or high impact!
Will be logging back into Fitness Pall to start noting everything I'm eating and being aware of portion sizes again.
Also will be back on Intermittent Fasting aiming for between 12 and 14 hours fasting.

I'm in and will also be starting on 2nd Jan.

In answer to wishingandwaiting there are several reasons why I am not "starting"now, mainly because I am away from tomorrow until 1st Jan and as I will be in a hotel and eating out in a foreign country I will have no idea as to calories. That said I am not planning on "stuffing myself", have eaten in moderation and exercised over the Christmas period, whilst also not feeling guilty about the bottle of Prosecco or cheese and biscuits. It is this balance that allows me to stay focused and maintain a reasonable weight so I'm perfectly happy with my mindset!

My current BMI is within the healthy range but closer to the top end of that range than I would like (not sure exactly as I haven't weighed since before Christmas). Ideally I would love to lose a stone but would be happy with any weight starting with a 9 (I weigh in stone and pounds not kg)

I have got to get started again. I lost nearly 4 stone a few years ago and have now put nearly all of it back on. I'm so annoyed with myself! I'm still about 3 stone off my heaviest, but if I don't get myself back on track i can see myself getting back there.

I did it on my fitness pal when I lost last time, but haven't been able to stick with it myself since. I need someone to chase me when I should have weighed in and hassle me if I dont lose weight, but I don't want to pay for ww or sw when I won't follow their plan.

I'm in. Haven't even dared weigh myself but will brave the scales soon..... a friend is getting married in May so that's my first target date. Once I know the horrific reality of what I weigh then I can work out how much I'm aiming to lose by then.

Still can't get MFP to link with my Fitbit though, it's really annoying!

I'm in. I need to lose 2 st 9lbs to be out of the obese category as an absolute minimum. I will then reset my goals. First goal is 1st 4lbs to be under 200lbs. I'm focussed and can do this!

I've been cutting portion sizes a little and adding more veg to my plate. The house is still full of food so I don't feel like I can really throw myself into dieting yet.

The only chance I have is if I set myself a fresh date when the house is empty of all junk food and I don't have to avoid buffets and baileys haha January it is for me!! I think I'm going to just be doing mix of Slimming worlds Extra Easy SP and clean eating. (So just healthy eating with a balance). I might set up a whatsapp/snapchat group ladies see how it goes.

I'm easying myself into the new habits. I started with logging my intake in an app and so far I stayed well within the allowed limit. Though DH and DC look at me Hmm, because I weigh my food.

I am actually looking forward to the diet to be honest haha I don't think I can eat another celebration or takeaway. I automatically go in to full binge mode and refuse to cook at all over christmas! haha roll on the 1st!! I think small whatsapp groups will be more effective. I'll sort it new years eve day Grin Hope you've all had a smasher!!
