Hi bowbear that sounds like a good idea for you.

I'm on day one of the holidays today and I think meal planning is going to be my saviour. The last few days all my meals have been very carb heavy but I think that's because I have a cold and earache. Time to get some balance !

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/07/2017 10:51

Hello! I weighed myself this morning and I was 10 stone 9. Then I moved the scales around a bit and weighed myself again and I was 10 stone 7! The scales are not moving from that particular spot on the floor from now on!

Slight fail yesterday - made DS a slice of hot buttered toast and he didn't want it. It was lovely pumpkin seed bread and it would just have been wasted...

twofloorsup · 27/07/2017 13:42

Too who on earth can resist hot buttered toast ? Smile
I trained my kids to make their own lunch and breakfast from quite a young age Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/07/2017 13:56

He's only just 3 - how early is too early to use the toaster??

twofloorsup · 27/07/2017 14:12

Oh I'm not sure mine are all teens now Grin

twofloorsup · 27/07/2017 19:18

I've just had a serves you right moment.
Making a cake for my dad that involves condensed milk. Always used to scrape the tin into my coffee and thought I'd see what I was missing.
Pushed on the tin lid to release the little bit that didn't open and sliced right through my thumb pad Shock
The blood ConfusedEnvy
I'm too scared to take off the 3 plasters and wad of kitchen towel so I'm sort of hoping for the best Shock

beela · 27/07/2017 20:05

Ouch! Hope you are ok two. That's one way to distract yourself from eating Wink

I had a disaster this morning.... I got up at 6 to do my exercise dvd and the dvd player wouldn't work! I didn't let it defeat me though. I found a Joe Wicks hiit session on YouTube and did that instead, and actually really enjoyed it. Result.

twofloorsup · 27/07/2017 20:26

Way to go Beela I like your style Smile
I'm ok my eldest son just came by with steri strips and patched me up.
Apparently it's not as bad as I first thought. Phew !!

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/07/2017 20:40

Oooh two poor youFlowers sounds very painful indeed. I hope you're OK!
Beela good for you! I admire your dedication. I am still resisting exercise, my friend was showing me an app earlier on her phone which has a range of mini sessions, some are 7 minutes, I might give that a go. Surely I can make myself do 7 minutes!
Nearly the weekend everyone.Smile

twofloorsup · 27/07/2017 20:51

Thanks Posie it is sore but now I know it's stopped bleeding I feel so much better !

7 minutes sounds good.
When I had the personal trainer session he got me to do the cross trainer for 8 minutes. I thought I was going to die so when I go myself I do 5 minutes. Still think I'm going to die but know I can finish it Grin
And feel amazing for accomplishing it.

Liz38 · 27/07/2017 21:31

I'm contemplating this as an option, some to lose but not loads but improved health and less dependence on sugar are what I'm after. My big concern is around the 3 plates thing. My preferred way to exercise is to have a small breakfast eg 1 slice of toast with half a banana, go for a run about an hour later. I can't make it to lunch without refuelling and would generally go for another slice of toast and the other banana half. Is this allowable? I aim to run about 3 times per week. Help and advice gratefully welcomed!

twofloorsup · 27/07/2017 22:53

Liz I split my breakfast on gym days so I have my cereal before work , a huge banana on leaving work and then lunch when I get home from the gym. It's taken me a lot of experimenting to get this right but it suits me well now.
I started No S to help me stop binge eating rather than to lose weight.
All the best.

Liz38 · 28/07/2017 07:50

Two floors thank you! I'll give it a try.

beela · 28/07/2017 09:48

posie the Joe Wicks one that I did yesterday was 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off. You don't even have to do 7 minutes in one go!

You do have to be in the right frame of mind to start exercising, and you have to stick with it for a bit to form the habit... just like no-s. I am really enjoying it now and miss it on days I don't do it, but you have to get through the bit where it feels horrible and you don't want to do it first (in my experience).

twofloorsup · 28/07/2017 11:22

Totally agree with Beela. Even at 6:15 this morning I was so tempted to skip gym and get back in bed but the minute I stepped out the door I was glad I didn't.
I really miss it when I don't do it hence going early today as I'm off to see my dad.

PosiePootlePerkins · 28/07/2017 12:25

Wise words ladies, thank you.

beela · 28/07/2017 14:58

Weigh in today, and in the last week I have lost.... 100g! (though I have my jeans on today and I am sure they must be heavier than the summer dress I was wearing last week when I weighed myself??).

However, this was a week that included (amongst other things and all on n-days Blush) flapjack, leftover cornetto, and a fish & chip tea. So that's not disastrous. I'm creeping ever closer to my 2 stone mini goal (2lb to go), even if it is slow progress.

Off on holiday for a week tomorrow, I am aiming for a bit of a digital detox as well so probably won't be checking in for a while...

twofloorsup · 28/07/2017 18:06

Enjoy your holiday Beela.

twofloorsup · 29/07/2017 21:53

Are you all having a fab weekend ?
I went out on my bike today and managed to do 9.5 miles without it feeling like exercise Smile
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Food going well had a sugary smoothie this morning but planned for and enjoyed.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 31/07/2017 10:34

Yet another bad weekend! I need to get a grip! S day does not mean eat the contents of Tesco!

Still, managed to keep up the exercise and dragooned DH into doing Ripped in 30 with me yesterday. I feel more muscular but bloated. Must drink more!

mrszebrastripe · 31/07/2017 10:49

This diet seems to be exactly what I've been looking for. I am almost 50 and carrying a peri menopausal belly! I would like to loose a stone, perhaps another half on top of that. I find calorie counting pretty soul destroying, so this seems ideal. I also do a lot of 'automatic' eating and find myself mindlessly bingeing after being 'good' for a few days. I was going to say that I will start this tomorrow - but am so motivated, I'm going to start now!

PosiePootlePerkins · 31/07/2017 14:52

Hi everyone. Beela I hope you're having a lovely holidaySmile Two very impressed with your bike ride, sounds great. Cheddar I am sure your weekends will sort themselves out in time, it doesn't always happen as soon as we'd like! Mrszebrastripe welcome! Any questions just ask.
I am doing Ok, had a lovely but calorific anniversary meal out with DH on Sat, drank far too much wine (he was drivingGrin) Have an evening wedding reception this weekend and then we're off on holidays. I am aiming to maintain this summer, seems I am quite good at that at the moment! Having always used the summer holidays as an excuse to eat anything and everything in sight, I shall be pleased with some moderation in the weeks.

mrszebrastripe · 01/08/2017 13:37

Thanks for the welcome! So a question... how do you overcome the automatic' eating thing? I had dinner last night and found myself back in the salad bowl. Ok, it was only salad - but it was still seconds! Tips much appreciated! Also, is it worth buying the book (I do have a library of slimming books btw!)

twofloorsup · 01/08/2017 19:08

@mrszebrastripe it's a matter of changing habits which takes time and practice. By three weeks in I slipped up much much less. I never bought the book as there's so much information online and so much support here. I witter on occasionally about my odd food quirks and there's always someone who will read and understand Smile

OSETmum · 01/08/2017 21:57

What do people do about premenstrual days? I couldn't stop eating at the weekend and we were away in the camper van so had lots of high calorie food for ds as he had a full on weekend on his motorbike. Low and behold, my period came yesterday so that must have been what was wrong with me.
