Well done Jasmine Smile

healthandwealth · 28/11/2017 00:24

Great news Jasmine. Hope everyone's having a good week so far. I've dropped another pound or two, which I'm thrilled about. Ive had a virus so not much exercising but it must have decreased my appetite a bit. How are you feeling now Two?

twofloorsup · 28/11/2017 15:01

I'm a fair bit better thank you but still not 100%.
I've gained a load of weight too I assume by not exercising.
I don't want to get bogged down with the whole diet/binge/restrict cycle so I'm just ignoring it for now but still following No S.

beela · 02/12/2017 18:50

Hi! It's been a bit quiet round here lately. I hope you are all doing ok?

I am already feeling the pressure of the festive season (combined with pmt this weekend!) so might post a bit more in the next couple of weeks, if only for my own accountability. I don't think I've had a single green day in the last week Blush.

Marking and moving on.

twofloorsup · 03/12/2017 08:29

Hi Beela I'm still around.
Doing ok food wise but have turned into a gym hating couch potato Shock
I know I've gained weight but I'm not really bothered- at the moment !
I know that will be different when I want to wear less clothing in the spring !

beela · 03/12/2017 10:17

Hi there two.

I think that's a normal reaction to winter Grin the weather really has turned in the last few weeks, hasn't it?

twofloorsup · 03/12/2017 14:30

Yes it's all snuggling up under blankets and wanting comfort food here already Smile

twofloorsup · 12/12/2017 21:18

Where are all you No S folk ?
I'm still on it no progress with gym but definitely not blowing it over Christmas this year, I'm really happy with my 3 meals and no snacks routine now.
No seconds gets me occasionally but mostly I have a good grip on it.

Hope you're all healthy and happy Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 12/12/2017 21:44

Hi everyone sorry I've been away so long. I am still following NoS, having the usual ups and downs but mainly just plodding along. Still having some S days which feel out of control, however I have maintained my weight for some months now which for me is an achievement in itself.
Hope you're all ok and managing the run up to Christmas.

beela · 12/12/2017 22:18

Hi both Smile I'm still here, trying to no-s but struggling a little bit with December - the combination of cold weather and festive stuff is no good! However, compared to last December I am doing just fine, and I have even managed to lose a couple of lb in the last fortnight so I can't be slipping up that badly.

I hit a milestone recently - total weight loss is the same weight as my 3.5 year old dd. I carried her up a hill on my back the other day and couldn't believe how hard it was!

Trialsmum · 13/12/2017 12:30

Hi, I’m still here but have name changed from OSETmum. I’m determined to carry on until school finishes on 22nd but everyone is trying their best to tempt me with treats 😡. I’ve got a very small dress to get into on Friday for the staff meal so that’s a good incentive!

CarrotPuff · 13/12/2017 13:48

Hi, can I join please? I did join last year when the first thread just started, and was doing quite well for a while, but then fell off the wagon and piled it all back onBlush

Really need to rein it in. DD is 21m and I still haven't lost my baby weight... have over a stone to lose, and ideally would like to lose another 7-10 lbs on top of it.

Today's been ok so far, but the hardest time for me is evening between when I come home and dinner, so we shall see!

Will try to weigh myself on Sunday.

bowbear · 13/12/2017 14:17

Sneaking back in rather red faced here! I've been a wee bit off track these last couple of months with various family challenges and have rather lost my way. The essence of No S is still at the back of my mind but the half a stone I've put on is telling me that I'm not exactly embracing philosophy Blush
With Christmas looming and the miserable cold weather I'm in danger of going completely off the rails so I thought I'd better return to the flock and seek some motivation! I hope everybody is doing well and enjoying that feeling of control....hopefully some of that positivity will rub off on me x

Nice to hear from you all Smile
Sounds like a bit of accountability will do us all good !

beela · 15/12/2017 13:40

Hi everyone! Xmas Smile

I've just been reading through this thread, I found it really interesting, all about habits of slim people. No-S is mentioned a few times:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/3103363-Spent-the-weekend-with-slim-people-and-I-now-see-why-Im-overweight

We've just had a big change at work and eating at desks is no longer allowed Xmas Shock . There are several people up in arms about it, convinced that they are going to pass out if they aren't able to sit and munch all day. A year ago I'd have been right there with them, but it hasn't bothered me at all so I have been feeling secretly smug about that.

Just need to maintain the festive willpower now. I've got lots of baking to do for various parties and gifts, and there are lots of treats all over the place. But I'm so close to my (arbitrary) target that I need to resist!

Hope everyone else is ok. Have a good weekend.

twofloorsup · 17/12/2017 12:04

Beela it's funny isn't it a year ago I wouldn't have gone out without taking a snack with me but now I eat breakfast before I start work and don't think about food until I get home (I'm part time not super human Grin).

I've been mourning the loss of my sweet tooth lately. I used to love mince pies and lebkuchen at Christmas and just don't like any of it now.

I've instead been eating bread butter cheese and crisps so I don't think I'm even any healthier Hmm

Part of me thinks I need to wean sweet stuff back into my diet for the weekend but I don't think it's going to help.

I'm waffling I'll go now Grin

Woah.... I joined in with the work Christmas buffet today. I stuck to one plate, which was fine, but then allowed myself to have a brownie and a mince pie - thoroughly enjoyed them at the time, but it set me on a sugar roller coaster for the rest of the afternoon! I had a crash at around 3pm, so perked myself up with a couple of quality street, and so it went on. I feel pretty dreadful now tbh.

I'm going swimming tonight so hopefully that will set me back on track.

two don't wean yourself back onto the sweet stuff!! I've accepted that my sweet tooth is here to stay, but I do now notice the effect it has on my body / energy levels / mood.

twofloorsup · 21/12/2017 17:02

Beela I did try today at the work do I had a peanut butter and jelly biscuit and a mini mince pie. Both of which I took one bite of and binned.
Sweet tooth has definitely gone !
Still not exercising I'm blaming the weather Smile

beela · 21/12/2017 21:54

It's not very exercisey weather! I skipped swimming the other day because I couldn't face going outside with wet hair afterwards.

I'm doing very badly with my snacking and my sweet tooth at the moment but anticipating that it will all get easier again come January. That's the plan anyway Xmas Blush

twofloorsup · 31/12/2017 20:43

Hi all. Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. I for one am looking forward to not having to start another poxy diet tomorrow I'm just carrying on with No S. Very happy Grin

beela · 01/01/2018 07:30

Hi @twofloorsup (and anyone else who is still here!), happy new year Smile

I have allowed myself lots of s days over Christmas, but I've also had no-s days too, and I've kept up the exercise. I've just hopped on the scales and I've gained 2lb since mid December. I'm pretty happy with that!

Glad I'm not starting an unsustainable diet today but also glad that January tends to be about healthy eating for a lot of people and that the tins of chocolate and mince pies will be out of the way.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2018 Xmas Smile

Ruggles · 01/01/2018 11:50

Hi - can I join you all? Started the S Diet just before Christmas and very excited about it all - I do have a bit of a tendency to get over-excited about new diets (hope over experience and all that), but having read the book and thought about this a lot, I really, really like this approach.

I am so fed up with fad diets and food restrictions and stressing out about what to cook for self and family etc. My biggest downfall is snacks and eating junk food in the car - crisps, choccie etc. So a programme which addresses the snack problem really appeals. I've got 18 lbs to loose and all in all it feels very do-able. Great to see such a support group on here too. It's really motivating to read other people's stories. Is anyone else starting out? Good luck for 2018 Smile Smile

beela · 01/01/2018 20:35

Hi ruggles, welcome Smile

Trialsmum · 01/01/2018 20:52

Happy new year everyone! Christmas has really messed up my noS status quo. My chocolate addiction has quickly returned and I need to sort it out quickly before all my hard work is undone 😖. As soon as I have a tiny bit of chocolate I just want to eat ALLLLL the chocolate 🙈. I know I just need to suck it up and get on with it though... how’s everyone else getting on?
