Thanks Jasmine. I think that's the beauty of No S , there's no deprivation as such so less need to go mad before the next diet, or to start again Monday (every flipping week of my adult life) Confused

It's safe to say I've not felt this rough in years and all I've done is eat !!
I've been so hungry this weekend but have just gone with it as I know I'll get straight back to it tomorrow and will hopefully feel a bit more human by then !

beela · 13/11/2017 11:36

Hope you are feeling better today two Flowers sometimes you do just need to eat your way through an illness!

twofloorsup · 13/11/2017 17:51

Not great Beela thanks for asking , but a very slight improvement on the weekend.
And I don't feel like I need to eat my way through Tesco now !

beela · 14/11/2017 12:32

Whoop whoop!!!!! I've just snuck under 10 stone, for the first time in about 15 years!!! 9 stone something. Single figures..... Yay!!!

twofloorsup · 14/11/2017 15:13

Flipping heck well done Beela !!
Mine is creeping up again but we are only talking about 3 or 4 pounds so I'm ignoring it for now and trying to up my fruit intake rather than crisps and nuts.

healthandwealth · 14/11/2017 17:50

Well done Beela, that’s fantastic! Smile.

Keep at it Two! I’ve been frustrated at my slow progress but trying to remind myself this is a way of life rather than another fad diet. I have realised recently that pre:no S, I hadn’t really experienced hunger in the last 5 years (which is how long I’ve been putting on weight). Every time I got a slight twinge of hunger I would stuff my face (even if my next meal was only an hour away!). Now I can just about manage my hunger with tea/water /piece of fruit. That’s progress for me.

twofloorsup · 14/11/2017 18:13

@healthandwealth that's one of the things I noticed too. And I quite enjoy a healthy hunger nowadays Smile
No giving up here I've been at it 10 months and it's the first time in about 25 years I've not had a binge eating episode.

healthandwealth · 14/11/2017 18:42

That’s amazing Two. And proof that healthy eating and a few simple rules work.
Im also enjoying eating intuitively, with no real restrictions. Over the last few years I’ve become obsessed with eating ‘healthily’ and frantically reading every weight loss story that popped up on my Facebook feed. Now I just ignore them, knowing that I might not look as skinny as a whippet but I’m enjoying food again and losing weight in a healthy way.

Jasmine29 · 14/11/2017 18:53

That's great Beela! I love hearing about positive progess. If you can do it, it gives the rest of us hope!

I'm still maintaining, but like a lot of you are saying, I'm focusing on a healthy approach to food.

Why did I waste so much time and effort calorie counting?! At least we know about this sensible approach now.

beela · 14/11/2017 19:03

Thanks guys Smile

Totally jasmine! If I can do this then anyone can. It's been slow and steady but I've lost over 2.5 stone since mid January and, even better, I feel as though I have a sensible and sustainable relationship with food now. No going back!

Hello!

Sorry, I haven’t had time to read through this whole thread, but wondered if I could please join you?

I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant and need some help controlling my outrageous eating habits. I gained so much weight with dc1 pregnancy, both during pregnancy and afterwards. I still was about a stone over my pre-dc1 weight when I fell pregnant with dc2. I would like to avoid the weight gain this time if possible, but I feel I’m eating too many rubbishy snacks.

I like the sound of the No S diet as it isn’t a diet, just sensible eating and changing habits. I also need to quit eating sweet treats every day as I have been Blush. So hoping this will help.

twofloorsup · 16/11/2017 14:18

@ByThePowerOfRa welcome you're in the right place to build new habits Smile

ByThePowerOfRa · 16/11/2017 14:44

Thanks twofloors Smile.

Jasmine29 · 17/11/2017 12:15

Welcome ByThePowerOfRa!

Nearly an S day... have a good weekend everyone! Smile

healthandwealth · 18/11/2017 01:43

Good luck Bythepowerofra!. I put on waaay too much weight with my second child, and regretted it afterwards. Make sure you look after yourself and bubs though!

I’ve had a crappy week here. The whole family has had the norovirus, one after each other! It’s been a week of constant cleaning and washing and looking after sick children! I was the last to get it 🤢. On the upside my stomach is looking a bit less wobbly as a result! Feeling back to normal now and even managed an hours walk/run yesterday Halo

twofloorsup · 18/11/2017 06:43

@healthandwealth sorry to hear you've been poorly. That's literally my worst nightmare but thankfully mine are all teens and adults now !

I've been really ill with a cold all week and no signs of getting better with dizzy spells to add to the mix so I've not exercised in nearly two weeks and I can feel the weight creeping on.

I'm actually feeling too rubbish to care. Also considering cancelling the gym as after not going all I feel is dread about going back.

Apologies if I'm repeating myself Grin

Jasmine29 · 18/11/2017 09:24

I'm a big believer that you don't need a gym membership to be fit and healthy. (Everyone's different though!) I had a membership over the summer and don't feel guilty about quitting. It's hard going in the dark and cold. You need to enjoy whatever excersise you do. I just try and keep active by walking when I can and jumping round like a loon to a few youtube workouts! Hope you feel better soon. It's not easy this time of year x

ByThePowerOfRa · 18/11/2017 10:04

Thanks @health and @jasmine.

Sorry to read everyone’s been poorly Flowers. We’re well and truly into cold season at our house too, but so far haven’t had the tummy bugs which seem to be everywhere at the moment! I had norovirus last year and it was horrible.

I’m thinking of joining the gym soon, (if they’ll let me when heavily pregnant)? I could use more exercise definitely, though obviously just some gentle cardio and maybe Body Balance or something till dc2 arrives. Maybe will try some winter walks with dd over the next few weeks. The only problem with that is that she gets fed up and needs to be carried, which is hard work at the best of times; she’s nearly three and seems to have shot up lately which makes her very hard to pick up let alone carry!

twofloorsup · 18/11/2017 10:12

My gym is in town so I've been parking in Tesco and buying £3 worth to qualify for free parking.
However I live 10 minutes walk from said Tesco and 15 minutes from asda and lidl so I could just as easily walk to any of those daily and I enjoy walking so don't think it would be as much of a chore.
I'm not sure about the gym whilst pregnant but it can't hurt to ask.

beela · 20/11/2017 08:18

Morning everyone Smile

I had a night out with friends on Saturday and drank tooooo much wine. So yesterday I ate all the food. Today I feel better and I'm looking forward to a day (week) of clean eating.

I hope you all had a good weekend and are raring to go today.

healthandwealth · 20/11/2017 08:23

Same here Beela! Whoops! Oh well back on it this week..

Am trying out being dairy free at the moment as I keep getting sure throats and a nutritionalist suggested I might have an allergy/intolerance. I can’t tell you how much I’m missing my cups of tea!

ByThePowerOfRa · 20/11/2017 08:32

I’m going to pop into the gym tomorrow to ask if they’ll have me.

We had a busy weekend, so ended up grazing all day yesterday- we were at a rugby match, so snacked a lot there and just had sandwiches for tea.

Envy of your nights out with Wine!

beela · 25/11/2017 07:38

Hi! How was everyone's week?

How did you get on at the gym Ra?

We are away this weekend, there will be lots of rugby (watching not playing), cake, hot chocolate, wine. But it's 30 days until Christmas, so just enough time to fit in another round of 30 day shred in between Christmas parties GrinWine

twofloorsup · 25/11/2017 22:13

Hi all.
Good week here pretty standard stuff.
Made a cooked dinner last night after realising I'd not had one since Monday Shock
Cereal has been my go to this week.
Finally feeling well again after two weeks so need to pull my socks up Smile
Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Jasmine29 · 27/11/2017 19:25

I decided to cut back on the wine (I don't drink much but maybe overdo it a bit at the weekend) and also cut back on takeaways, again, I know they're technically allowed but I probably overdo it at the weekend. And I've finally seen a budge in the scales... first time in 2/3 months! I was beginning to think they were broken as they kept saying the exact same reading. I even picked up one of my weights to check if the number changed when I stepped on them and it did so I realised they weren't actually stuck! Just needed to rein it in a bit with the treats. Onwards and upwards (or hopefully downwards!)
