Joining you on the no snacking at weekends Beela I was way out of control last weekend and didn't like it at all.
Going to make some huge and delicious meals to look forward to instead.

beela · 22/10/2017 20:56

How's it been two?

I've not had a perfect no snacking weekend, but the snacks I had were planned rather than the free for all grazing that I can easily slip back into if I don't watch it! It felt better - more controlled.

twofloorsup · 22/10/2017 22:07

I did ok Beela apart from two chunks of cheese as I was making dinner tonight. In my defence I was absolutely ravenous but I'm going to keep pushing on as I feel loads better when I'm not cheating.

healthandwealth · 23/10/2017 08:04

Two chunks of cheese doesn't sound too bad Two.

We had drinks at a friend's house and I managed to completely ignore all the crisps and nibbles, that's a real result for me!

twofloorsup · 23/10/2017 10:10

Well done health Smile
No not bad at all as they were going on my plate anyway.

twofloorsup · 24/10/2017 00:07

I had to have a fourth meal tonight (toast and butter).
Due to eating cereal for breakfast and lunch and then an early salad for dinner. I can't sleep because I was so hungry !
Lesson learned and I will eat proper food tomorrow !

healthandwealth · 24/10/2017 00:19

Chalk it up to a bad day two and hope tomorrow is better

I read that ginger tea is good at staving off hunger so I'm going to try taking a flask to work tomorrow

beela · 24/10/2017 08:20

Two have you tried the Joe Wicks lean in 15 books? Lots of really tasty and nutritious recipes, ready really quickly (as long as you have the ingredients in, obviously).

A friend got me onto them a few weeks ago, I love them.

Must be better than cereal! Wink

Jasmine29 · 24/10/2017 12:16

I second Joe Wicks! I've not tried recipes yet but have been doing some of his workouts. Must try some of the food Smile

twofloorsup · 24/10/2017 12:49

I have watched his stuff on tv but found him irritating so never looked any further Grin

Thing is I'm a trained chef so I know exactly how to knock up something nutritious and tasty I'm an embarrassment to the profession Shock

And lazy !

beela · 25/10/2017 08:16

Ha, no excuses then! Wink

I've been making loads of the recipes (never eaten so much spinach in my life) but I can't bring myself to make anything with broccoli in it, because he actually lists it in the ingredients as 'midget trees'. And that is too annoying for words.

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/10/2017 08:29

Midget treesGrin That's the kind of thing you say to your kids to get them to eat the stuff.
I have been struggling with a head cold since Friday so my appetite has been a bit off. My DH has just finished his first round of chemo so he's not eating much either. We were just commenting on our crazy wild social life slumped in front of the TV feeling sorry for ourselvesGrin

beela · 26/10/2017 21:10

Hope you are both feeling a bit better now posie

healthandwealth · 27/10/2017 02:47

Sorry to hear about your hubby, hope the chemo is successful

healthandwealth · 27/10/2017 10:14

Last night I managed to take off my wedding rings comfortably for the first time in about a year! 😀

Anyone else losing weight?

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/10/2017 23:11

Thanks beela and health, I am feeling much better today thanks, and DH is through the worst of the 1st round. Had a lovely picnic lunch in our campervan today and a walk through the woods, such a beautiful Autumn day. Yesterday I took as a special day, DH is away for my birthday on Sunday so we celebrated early.
Have a great weekend everyone Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/10/2017 23:12

Health congrats on the wedding rings! Its great when you can feel you are losing weight, good for you.

Gohackyourself · 28/10/2017 07:05

Hi

Bit late to this party, apologies Flowers may I come in An join you?
Thanks for the link to No S page, was great reading.
Reminds me of programme “ back in time for dinner” where they showed a family trialling a weeks life and eating through the decades. Made me realise that pre war and post war up to the late 70s there just wasn’t the food/food options/nor money to snack (coincidentally timed with when women were not at home all day for the family An had to start working!) it was very much a 3 meals a day if you were lucky life.
An I guess that’s the answer!
So hello all, it’s been great reading and I’m here to report for dutyGrin.

My starting weight is 13.8 and I’m 5ft 6- absolutely awful.
This time last year I was roughly 12.10 -met a new partner after 4 years on own and have ballooned with the good life!
My downfalls are- no breakfast but 2 coffees- at 10am ish needing food so buying a croissant and hazelnut latte! Having lunch, no snacks then tea and eating a shit load of crisp and chocolate when I finally sat/sit down at 8.45 pm after sorting dc.i justifiy it because my body is obviously lacking in calories from day time.
All gotta stop and back to basics!
I’d like to be 10 stone so at roughly a pound a week it’s gonna take me till august 2018 Shock

PosiePootlePerkins · 28/10/2017 07:23

Hi Gohackyourself and welcome! You are exactly the same as me when I started NoS! 13st 8 and I am also 5 foot 6. Weight loss has been slow for me, 13 months later I have lost 2 stone 2 lb, still officially overweight but the happiest I have ever been around food and also the most accepting I have ever been of my body shape. NoS has worked wonders with my relationship with food, which has been more important to me than losing weight. If you wanted to look at the NoS forum I am Bluebell on there and I wrote a 10 month testimonial back in September about how far I have come.
Good luck and any questions just ask!

Gohackyourself · 28/10/2017 08:04

Thanks and hi posie- that’s some weight loss, congratulations!
I’m adding this rule to doing 30 mins walking a day where possible.
Job is very active so I do 10-11000 steps a day anyway- so I’ve got into habit of saying “well I’ve done enough “ in daytime !

Gohackyourself · 30/10/2017 19:41

I seem to be a thread killer atm- been on 3 threads and killed them dead Sad

healthandwealth · 30/10/2017 20:32

Lol not at all gohack! How are you finding it so far? I'm in week 3, I don't weigh myself so not sure if I've lost much weight but I feel like I'm getting into better habits already. I survived my daughter's birthday party and only had one piece of cake and a few crisps and sweets.

Posie, that's an amazing weight loss. Well done! I love hearing people's success stories, that's what keeps you going.

PosiePootlePerkins · 31/10/2017 06:27

Gohack don't worry this thread is a little slow but we all keep popping back now and then to update! Smile Well done health at the party, every time you avoid the temptation at social events you are building the habits and your willpower is getting stronger.
I had a lot of Ss over the weekend! It was my birthday on Sunday but also seemed to celebrate on Sat, and had Thurs as a special day to celebrate before my husband had to go away.
Despite all of that and dreading the scales yesterday, I have maintained.

DaisyRaine90 · 31/10/2017 07:03

Our portions are so oversized I never need seconds anymore 😂

beela · 31/10/2017 08:24

Thread definitely not killed gohack Grin

Happy birthday for Sunday posie, mine is tomorrow.

I'm going big on soup at the moment, trying not to have too much bread with it. Healthy pumpkin and ginger soup for lunch for me today.... and for the forseeable future Halloween Smile
