Sounds like a win win situation @pfrench! There was nothing in the staff room today for the first time so of course I was on duty then I forgot my lunch so had to go home and get it.

beela · 22/09/2017 14:43

Hi everyone.

I have completely stalled! I'm going ok on the eating (although I've just had a chocolate hobnob Blush) and am still exercising 5-6 times a week, but just not shifting the weight. I seem to have reached a plateau.

My BMI is now 25, so at the very top of acceptable. I was aiming to give myself a bit of wriggle room, so would like to drop a few more lb.

Feeling a bit meh about it all today.

Perhaps I just need to cut out the wine for a bit, and cut down on my portion sizes a bit more.

Hope everyone else is ok. Happy weekend Smile

Ipumoni · 22/09/2017 15:39

I also tried staying away from those "S"s for a while but unfortunately since past 5days have been gorging on milkmaid slice as late night snack, guess what??once this can is finished i will be back in track!😜

twofloorsup · 22/09/2017 22:00

Beela I'm also at a standstill, not feeling exercise at the moment so I'm struggling to do 5x30 minutes a week.
Food wise I just feel peckish all the time. Partly because I'm stressed out and it used to be my go to and partly because I'm being lazy and eating mostly cereal and toast.
I know what I need to do but don't have the energy to do it. And I don't have the energy because of it if that makes any sense at all Grin
Hope you're all going to have a lovely weekend.

EddSimcox · 23/09/2017 08:31

I am really struggling with exercise too with a very sore foot. And with the bag of nuts that seems to sit on my kitchen worktop. Perhaps if I put that away it would be a start! Other than that food is going well. It's the booze that traps me.

twofloorsup · 23/09/2017 08:57

Edd I don't drink so that's not an issue for me. I'm sure you're allowed a couple of glasses on No S though ?
I might be wrong. I was going to exercise today and tomorrow but have woken up with a full on cold and don't feel like it at all. The problem is I know how quickly it can become not a habit and it's taken me months to make it a habit. Might have to man up and just do it !

beela · 23/09/2017 12:23

two remember the 6 month wall? Perhaps this is a 9 month wall. We just need to power on through??

twofloorsup · 23/09/2017 14:10

You may be right there Beela !
I must admit I updated my habitcal thingy on the forum and in 9 months I've had 3 fail days. That for me is pretty damn incredible.
I think in the bigger scheme of things a few bags of crisps in my meals and a couple of days off exercise is not so bad after all !

PosiePootlePerkins · 24/09/2017 11:18

Hi everyone I have just had a very busy few days preparing for my mum and Dad's golden wedding anniversary party, which we hosted yesterday. It went really well and I was so pleased to feel calm around all the food. Before NoS I would have found it very difficult to be surrounded by so many choices and felt compelled to eat as much as possible. Also when people left, I would have eaten lots of leftovers. Yesterday I was able to choose what I knew I'd really enjoy, and leave the rest.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Two hope you feel better soon Flowers

beela · 24/09/2017 14:36

two that's amazing, well done! I think I need to step away from the scales and concentrate on habits for a bit.

twofloorsup · 24/09/2017 18:33

Thanks Posie and Beela.
I'm feeling better today just the sore throat to deal with now.
Posie that control is a blissful feeling !
Beela I find I do better when I don't worry about what the scales say.
I woke up at 5:30 today so I am absolutely starving. Very much looking forward to dinner Smile

OSETmum · 24/09/2017 19:43

It’s interesting that so many of us are struggling atm ( I’m JUST managing to ignore the cravings and force myself to exercise). I honestly think it’s the time of year. If you think of it from an evolutionary prospective, it makes sense that now is the time to ‘stock up for winter’ in preparation for the cold weather. In summer I almost forgot about chocolate and looked forward to my workouts but now I want a blanket on the sofa and a bar of galaxy!!

twofloorsup · 24/09/2017 21:50

Osetmum I think you're right. And as a lot of us work in schools it really is difficult to adjust after the long summer at home.
I love my job but still enjoyed being home and spending long lazy days with my own children. Everything is so structured and time tight in term time and sometimes I feel that adds to the pressure.
It's getting colder and darker already and food is such a comforting thing.
And exercise really is not Grin
Determined to keep going though.
Have a good week all.

beela · 24/09/2017 22:03

OSETmum that's a very good point. I think a lot about how we should be from an evolutionary perspective and that makes complete sense.

As an aside - I once said to my dmum that we were programmed to like fat and sugar and she looked at me with this exact face --> Hmm

twofloorsup · 25/09/2017 20:48

Hmm wondering if there's an evolutionary reason why I'm drawn to cereal and toast !
Or am I just lazy Grin
I cook at work and cook for my kids so why can't I rustle up something nice for myself ???

OSETmum · 26/09/2017 21:31

All those who are struggling to enjoy exercise; you must, must, must look up Tiffany Rothe workouts on YouTube!

I've just had a conversation with someone who was gobsmacked that I had managed to lose 2 stone without the aid of slimming world or weight watchers. It really is big business with very clever marketing.

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/09/2017 20:52

Beela yes absolutely. It's taken me many years to realise that the diet industry is a big con. In fact I have mugshots sitting in my cupboard from my last attempt at Slimming World, I'm sure they must be out of date by now. I think that's one of the best things about NoS, that you can just eat normal food with the family.

twofloorsup · 27/09/2017 21:47

I'm a bit of a people watcher and it's fascinating to see the slimming world / weight watchers cycle that goes on with the women at work.
It's almost like they're good all week and then weigh day comes and goes and they're eating everything that's not nailed down. Not being bitchy I've been there done that and got the extra pounds to prove it Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/09/2017 22:00

Yes me too two, such a relief to be out of that cycle. Painful to watch others still stuck in it though! I am trying to convince my dear mum about the benefits of NoS, but she has been such a staunch dieter over her almost 70 years that I don't think I'll get the message through. She still talks about being 'good' and 'bad' with foodSad

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/09/2017 22:02

Oh and wearing the lightest item of clothing you own on weigh in day, and eating next to nothing for that day until I stepped on the scales - madness! Getting a clap for losing half a pound, talking about future social engagements that could sabotage the diet... urgh its all coming back to me! I am never going back to that madness.

twofloorsup · 28/09/2017 14:56

Not to mention the no cuppa until you've been weighed as we all know it adds a good half a pound !

Life is far too short for that nonsense !

beela · 29/09/2017 15:36

I've just been to the jewellers to get my wedding & engagement rings resized because they were falling off and I was scared I'd lose them. Now I'm scared I'm going to put the weight back on Confused

twofloorsup · 29/09/2017 15:40

Good incentive not to Beela , well done on the weight loss Smile
