Ooh good luck indeed Beela I never got to grips with weights.
I'm struggling just to go the gym and went swimming today but only managed two lengths as two delightful women didn't want to budge over a couple of inches to let me in , instead they swam straight at me Confused
I don't do confrontation so I went for a sulk in the sauna and a walk in the rain afterwards Grin
Baby steps so I think I'm going to prioritise proper meals over toast and cereal as a starting point.

PosiePootlePerkins · 13/09/2017 21:59

Good luck two I am sure this is just a small setback for you, you have done so well and it is normal to have periods of time when you don't feel so committed. A walk in the rain is still exercise! Would batch cooking help, if meal preparation is a problem? I try and have a few things in the freezer for difficult days.

twofloorsup · 13/09/2017 23:12

Yes Posie I have made a vat of chilli tonight just need to add to it further so I don't get bored !
I eat jacket potato a lot !!
Need to try and get some variety I think.

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 07:02

Ooh yum I love chilli! I am a big fan of those microwave rice pouches too. Also recently I have discovered the cooking bags where you chuck in some chicken and veg, add the spice mix and put it in the oven. It all gets steamed in the bag so really healthy and yummy. Quick and easy, that's my aim!

beela · 14/09/2017 08:36

Microwave rice is great. Also the pouches of lentils or mixed grains. Add a bit of halloumi or fish and maybe some spinach - job done.

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 15:53

Beela I haven't seen the pouches if lentils, are the the same idea as the rice? Would make a nice change sometimes.

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 15:53

of not if!

beela · 14/09/2017 18:05

Yes same thing. Just microwave for a couple of mins.

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 18:09

I will have a look!

twofloorsup · 14/09/2017 18:31

I love lentils I will look for those thanks.
Love halloumi too. My dad puts it on the BBQ it's so good.
I'm actually feeling like binge eating my way round my kitchen again today. I know what's causing it and I refuse to be beaten but it's interesting to have those feelings again as I wrongly assumed they wouldn't surface again. Stress is most definitely a trigger ! You may have to put up with me checking in a fair bit over the next few weeks to keep my head above water. Sorry if I'm not much use to anyone else at the moment !

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 18:41

Two absolutely here for support and to listen. Flowers Even after almost a year of NoS I still get days when I want to eat eat eat. Especially when I am tired and/or stressed. I think the only answer is to take each day at a time, sometimes each meal at a time. And of course 'mark it and move on' if it does go wrong,

twofloorsup · 14/09/2017 19:13

Thanks Posie.
It's good to know I can talk to people who understand.
I was saying to a friend the other day that cake used to be such a huge part of my life and I miss it so much it feels like I'm grieving Shock
Still don't think I could stomach the sweetness though !

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 19:57

I know, food was always my best friend and worst enemy rolled into one! Cake is very very sweet these days though...

beela · 14/09/2017 21:23

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time two. Definitely check in here if you need to talk Flowers

I still love cake!

twofloorsup · 14/09/2017 22:09

Thank you Beela.
I'm sat here just had my (rubbish) dinner and wanting to go back for more toast !
Time to brush teeth and go to bed I think Smile

AristonAndOn · 14/09/2017 22:21

Hi Two, I was just checking in and see your struggle. You are all an inspiration to me and are helping me get back on track. I should brush my teeth and go to bed also. I hope you are feeling great soon x

PosiePootlePerkins · 14/09/2017 22:28

Good night everyone! Smile

twofloorsup · 15/09/2017 06:19

Hello Ariston lovely to hear from you Smile
I'm going to make it a mission to get back on track. I can't easily fix what's troubling me but I can prioritise my health in the meantime.
Some super delicious meals are needed I think rather than reaching for cereal and toast because I'm tired.
I'll check in as you're all brilliant support.
Thank you Flowers

EddSimcox · 15/09/2017 08:15

You are all doing brilliantly. When I've failed at diets in the past usually that's just it - I give up - put on weight and the cycle begins again a year later. Keeping going even when you slip up is so obviously the key. And making eating habits lifetime sustainable. This plan is so good for that. I'm really loving it. but it is a bit slow

I've lost about 3kg so far. Hoping to be 11.5 stone by Christmas, 11 stone by Easter and 'healthy' BMI by next summer. Feels doable. Just need to stick at it!

PosiePootlePerkins · 15/09/2017 15:53

Edd what I have found as time has gone on is that the weight loss has become less important than the other benefits. Which is the complete opposite of any other diet I have followed (and there have been a lot!) You are so right about the importance of keeping going even when its hard or you feel you've messed up. It is such a forgiving diet, and that is what makes it realistic and sustainable. Good for you, keep on keeping on!

EddSimcox · 15/09/2017 18:06

But here is a tricky thing. 6pm. Too early for dinner. Would have been nuts, dips, cheese. Now it's beer. That's not good, is it?

beela · 15/09/2017 19:05

I've been trying to ignore all of those things this evening edd! Not entirely successfully, it has to be said. I've got to get my dc into bed and cook tea yet. Realistically we won't be eating until at least 8.30pm. I'm hungry!!

twofloorsup · 15/09/2017 19:24

Big fat mug of tea usually helps me through til proper teatime.
I eat late now as I can't bear the thought of going to bed hungry Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 15/09/2017 20:03

I am the opposite of two! I usually eat early with my boys, around 6pm, as I cannot cope with more than 5 1/2hrs between meals, I just get too hungry. Strangely enough, once I've had dinner I am fine for the evening and I like leaving a big stretch between dinner and breakfast.
On Fridays however I have to eat around 7.30pm due to my boys Friday club, and I sometimes struggle to stay in control. Tonight we had Chinese and I have to confess I did go back for seconds. Ah well, mark it and move on, the end of a very long week.
Have a good weekend everyone.

twofloorsup · 15/09/2017 21:31

It's the beginning of the weekend Posie so it could be worse Wink
I have to go 6-7 hours between breakfast and lunch anyway so I'm used to the long gaps and feel like I'm cheating if I'm not famished !
