@AristonAndOn hello stranger lovely to hear from you Smile
It's never too late to give it another go and the good thing is you know you can do it !

AristonAndOn · 07/09/2017 19:46

Hi Posie and Two 💐 It is so much easier to bury my head in the cake sand!
Thank you for your thoughts, this thread has stayed in my mind also. I did something positive which was to go to the gym today. I had to take it very easy as my back is easily hurt, but I feel positive about it and hope it impacts my eating.
I hope everyone has been really well.

beela · 07/09/2017 21:41

ariston hi! How nice to hear from you Smile

Well done for getting to the gym. Be kind to yourself, and get back onto no-s when you feel ready. I hope the counselling goes well. It's a big step but you sound really positive.

DoNotBringLulu · 07/09/2017 21:58

A successful day apart from snacking on beetroot! I am using up the weeks left that I've prepaid for on Slimming World and with the 1.5lb I lost this week I am back to what I weighed this time last year. I put on a stone and 2lb from October to February.....it's great to be in the right frame of mind again. Well done on the gym Ariston I went yesterday. I am going again tomorrow, an incentive for me is a shower and coffee afterwards!

twofloorsup · 08/09/2017 18:23

I'm having a bit of a moment.
Skived off the gym earlier as I just couldn't face it after not going all summer (been cycling instead).
Also not eating well at the moment. Sugary granola for breakfast which I'm sure is ok as its one bowl rather than the three I used to have , but not much in the way of meals. Cereal and toast all week Confused
I don't think this weather is helping it's so miserable isn't it !
Anyway hope you all have a fab weekend.

bowbear · 08/09/2017 20:00

I hope everyone is having a good week. I'm on a mission to undo the summer holiday damage and get back into good habits again. Not too bad this week and a couple of pounds off so I'm happy with that. Just need to get the mindset and focus back rather than getting complacent as I had been over the hols. I'm doing daily weigh ins for the next month (and recording them on mfp whether they are good or bad!) I would love to get another stone off by christmas.
Have a lovely weekend xx

Thanks for fruit response. Another quick question!

On your S days, do you find that you don't really do the loads of pudding or snack eating? Or do you eat loads?

Also, I'm going to swap around Friday and Sunday I think. Friday night is nearly always a nice night in with treat type food and booze. I don't want to stop it, as Saturday is no comparison! Sunday is just boring. Figure that's OK. Anyone else do any shifting around of days?

twofloorsup · 08/09/2017 22:13

@pfrench I never switch my days round as I find it easier not to but I work Monday to Friday so it fits that.

I tend to stick to the three plates on Saturday and Sunday too and may or may not have something I consider a treat. This might be a sugar free brownie or a frozen banana and cocoa smoothie. I don't trust myself to veer off this path (former binge eater) so this suits me well.

pfrench · 08/09/2017 23:04

I'm what I'd call a 'vacant eater' - I'm just stuffing it in mindlessly, no idea of how much I'm really eating. Three plates is a great limiter, it's working really well for me. I'm combining it with 5:2 for 6 months, get rid of some of the weight, then stick to the 3 plates from then on.

beela · 09/09/2017 07:31

pfrench I stick to Saturday / Sunday too.
You can still have your Friday night as alcohol is allowed and you can still have a nice meal, as long as it's just the one plateful! We had a totally allowed Indian takeaway last night Smile

In answer to your earlier qn - I stick to 3 plates at the weekend but occasionally have a pudding, or a bit of cake with a cuppa (although my standards have massively increased. I refuse to eat rubbish cake now!).

EddSimcox · 09/09/2017 09:21

Good to see you all going well. I'm 3 weeks into this now and I've lost 2kg so far which is undramatic but feels sustainable. As soon as I start to feel even a tiny bit fitter / thinner I tend to relax a bit so this is the time to be really strict with myself. I might have to do a bit of fasting or calorie counting or stricter portion control to make it really work in the long run but for now this plus lots of exercise seems to be doing the trick. I have injured my foot running though so I need to sort that out grrr. Not helping!
It's the tiny things I struggle with- when one of the DC offers me a segment of satsuma or one small piece of urban fruit. I try and say no but I don't want to reject the offer all the time iyswim. What do you all do about that?

beela · 09/09/2017 10:09

Ed I really struggle with that too. I love it that my dc choose to share with me and I don't want to be saying no all the time. 'I'm not hungry at the moment but I'll save it for later' sometimes does the trick Wink

DoNotBringLulu · 10/09/2017 09:09

Morning all. My S day yesterday, I felt like I was eating for the sake of eating just because I could....had a Wetherspoons veggie breakfast and I felt stuffed for the rest of the day but still had a cake with my cappuccino, then snacks and prosecco in front of Strictly. Still getting the hang of no S. I feel stuffed still this morning and don't want breakfast yet.

Babbage and Beela I also have the 30 day Shred! At the moment I go running as much as possible as I am doing the GreatSouth Run (went yesterday achey legs today).

Brigitte I know what you mean about automatic eating,I find the no S book is good on talking about reforming habits. I really like the no S plan and I think it will work for me if I am patient!

DoNotBringLulu · 10/09/2017 09:23

Still not awake yet! I was looking at posts from first page of the thread in answer to Babbage Heels and Birgitte.....

Ed my colleagues at work have been bringing in food all week, but I haven't waivered..... 3 plates is it. I've even had chocolate waved under my nose! I really want to lose this 3 stone and nothing has worked so far...Slimming World and weight watchers are not working!

twofloorsup · 10/09/2017 15:49

@DoNotBringLulu it takes time to build new habits. For me it was about three weeks and I'd cracked it.
Which surprised me and I kept waiting to slip up Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 10/09/2017 22:40

Hi everyone, just catching up with the thread. Had a very rare night away with DH this weekend, we had a lovely time, and I have most definitely indulged in the Ss! Will need to have a sensible week now, I know I'll be ready to get back on it tomorrow morning. Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

AristonAndOn · 12/09/2017 06:42

Hi everyone, hi Beela 🤗 I'm taking baby steps back to it. Took responsibility and weighed yesterday and my weight gain since stopping noS is massive and embarrassing! But it's written down and I put on my Fitbit that had been abandoned and visited the gym. I didn't snack for half the day, but then it went awry and I'm not beating myself up about it as I've made a start and can feel the mental shift. Getting back into a routine is a must for me.

PosiePootlePerkins · 12/09/2017 07:37

Fantastic Ariston one step at a time. StarSmile

AristonAndOn · 12/09/2017 10:58

Thanks Posie 👍🏼

twofloorsup · 12/09/2017 21:01

Hi all.
Hope you're all well.
Just checking in to mark today as a fail. Not felt the best all day so when I came back from Tesco with 3x8p loaves of course I had to try them all after my three meals !
Not even cross with myself as it was inevitable really after a few weeks of not bothering to cook properly.
Onwards and upwards Smile

beela · 13/09/2017 11:26

A potentially daft question... do your feet shrink when you lose weight? I've just been out to look for some new work shoes and all of the 39s were massive. I've come home with a lovely pair of perfectly fitting size 38s Confused

twofloorsup · 13/09/2017 16:09

Apparently so !
You're not the first person I've heard say that.

PosiePootlePerkins · 13/09/2017 18:23

Hi two hi beelaSmile Smaller feet you say beela, that really is progress!
Have had a few compliments from people at work who haven't seen me for a while so that's nice. I was posting on my check in on the NoS forum that my body seems to have settled quite happily at my current weight, I am officially still overweight but have always weighed 'heavy' for my size if that makes sense. I am by no means a skinny minny but I think my size suits me, if I lose more then great but actually for the first time in a long time (or possibly ever!) I am accepting of my body.
Hope everyone is having a good week. I am knackered due to working extra hours, and tempted to eat more, but managing to stick to my 3 plates.

twofloorsup · 13/09/2017 18:52

Hi Posie Smile
I'm bending the rules far too much these days and slacking in the exercise department. I really need to pull it back before it becomes out of my control.
Weight wise I'm half a stone over where I've always been reasonably happy but I'm staying there with no real effort so I'll take that !

beela · 13/09/2017 19:52

Evening two and posie!

Glad I'm not going mad two Grin

posie it's a boost when people notice, isn't it?

I could also do with losing another half a stone to be comfortably in the healthy bmi zone but this is the lightest I've been since having children (eldest is 7 next month!) and I'm feeling so much more confident.

Trying to keep my exercise going - I've just bought some heavier weights and I'm going to start shredding from the beginning again. Wish me luck!
