Anyone looking to lose 100lbs in 2017 - Part 2

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 04/05/2017 17:47

Hello, welcome to the second instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017’ thread Smile The first thread is here, if you want to read it: Part 1

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and we’re all starting to see some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food (at least, mine are changing!) Collectively we’ve lost 318 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time.

I will make one caveat, which I think is quite important for the spirit of the thread - we’re all here because we have a LOT of weight to lose. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this may not be the thread for you. Good luck with the weight loss, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals.

And with that little speech done, I’ll shut up now Grin

Weigh in...1lb on Sad
No idea why, still writing everything down and haven't eaten anything majorly different.

swlondon yes it's the Florida one, staying for 17 nights. Very excited!

Babieseverywhere · 30/07/2017 18:26

WEEK SIX
Week's loss : -0.2 lbs
Total Loss on My Fitness Pal : 12.9 lbs
Total Loss on Trend weight : 9 lbs
Target to lose : 120 lbs

Slight gain but we celebrated two birthdays and not much exercise, so to be expected

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 30/07/2017 18:29

Babies could you explain about the different losses please, i.e. difference between MFP and Trend?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 30/07/2017 18:30

And that's a very small gain considering there were TWO birthdays. I have a small bit of cake when it's family members' birthdays because it's nice to join in. Fortunately I don't have a huge family. Grin

Babieseverywhere · 30/07/2017 19:43

The My Fitness Pal. Is a combination of what I eat and exercise as I log everything and my actual scale weight that morning.

I find my weight can go up and down up to 5 lbs in a month depending on salt in food and hormones near period etc.

So the second way I track my weight is via Trend weight. This app only takes in my scale reading over the last four weeks and applies an algorithm to the number to smooth out the numbers and err on the side of caution I suppose. Trend weight gives a realistic weight loss *usually lower than the scales score.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 30/07/2017 20:01

Thanks Babies, that's interesting. I'm trying to resist apps and tracking because I'm don't want to get food/diet obsessed, but I do love a bit of data tracking. Grin

Babieseverywhere · 30/07/2017 22:49

Ditto and I still love data collecting !

MirabelleTree · 31/07/2017 08:31

Ex researcher here too !

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 31/07/2017 21:44

I'm loving the collection of number-crunchers and data junkies here was the same in my very early career Grin

I've realised I have about 4 weeks to fit into a dress that is quite snug (wearable, but snug) for a wedding. That's a target if ever I had one! It will be my first solo outing in quite some time, so I'm determined to look good, even if I will be a bit wobbly inside Wink

Weirdly, I dreamt that I ran 5k last night - woke up strangely proud, until I realised it was just a dream! My dreams are very vivid (and usually very dull) so perhaps my subconscious was trying to tell me something Grin. Best get the C25k pod cast out...!

OP posts:
NoTractorsAtTheTable · 01/08/2017 18:10

Grin Further evidence that other people's dreams are very dull indeed Grin

It has inspired me though, so I'm off for a long walk this evening - dodging ninja showers and dragging bored DCs with me. I wish we still had our old dog, in her younger days, she'd have bounced alongside me quite happily Smile

I am super happy. We moved our running machine to our room and it is all plugged in and ready to go. Use to be downstairs but furniture move around meant it no longer had a space and it was always meant to go upstairs (where the old one was)

I much prefer to walk/run outside but this way I can fit in exercise even when I am too unwell to go outside. And also in the school holidays when I am usually with my darling DC all day. I am hoping to fit in a couple of 15 minute walks per day !

This is our super lovely new to us treadmill after our old one gave up the ghost after many years service :)

Wish me luck for tomorrow, a gentle short walk to start :)

I think it was Notractors who did the figures and gas the dream - better get downloading some good music and find so.e running shoes then! I find it all rather bizarre as genuinely never wanted to run! That's a bit rough thinking you have done things them realising it's a dream!

Babies that is exciting ! It's about doing what you can to KOKO!

Away on holiday so eating around maintenance. AF arrived yesterday which is making me hungry and craving carbs which i've probably rather oVerdon?, would like more protein today.

I did an hours walk on my treadmill and with walking around the house got my 11, 000 steps today for the first time this school holiday. :)

Treadmills are ace. Our first one was an ex gym heavy duty one and that lasted years before my DH couldn't mend it anymore.

This time we went for an Nordic track as they are lovely and the platform is nice to run on and wide/long. Big investment but when I can't leave the house...priceless :)

My recommendation is go for a heavy duty well made treadmill with a good motor, not a wimpy or manual one !

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/08/2017 21:39

I've done the figures again.....drumrolll

Our current total weight loss in this thread is.....

Star Star Star 527 lbs!! Star Star Star

That's a huge amount - everyone has done (and is continuing to do) so well! Grin

swlondonnanny · 04/08/2017 05:57

Wow! Well done us Grin

swlondonnanny · 04/08/2017 06:59

Weigh in today at 108.7kg
Loss this week (week 21) -0.2kg
Did anyone notice lower loss /sts/ putting weight on just before ovulation? Seems to be happening to me. Nothing like that before my period. Maybe I am just weird Grin

SWLondonnanny I have found that with ovulation as well.

ChestyNut · 04/08/2017 10:28

swlondon I'm hoping that's what my gain was.
Been tough this week have wanted to eat everything and still grumpy about gaining a pound but I'm KOKO, fingers crossed for this week or it'll be a full on toddler tantrum Grin

Wow Tractors we are huge losers Shock

Babieseverywhere · 05/08/2017 07:17

Wow, big numbers Notractor

Yes, I put on loads of water weight near my period and lose it afterwards.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 05/08/2017 09:54

Week 6
Starting weight 100kg
current weight 92kg
this week's loss 0.2kg

I haven't done anything different this week from last week, so I'm just going to assume that this will be a normal pattern for me, some small loss weeks and some huge loss weeks. Because my body is weird. Off to read up on how everyone else is doing.
