Anyone looking to lose 100lbs in 2017 - Part 2

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 04/05/2017 17:47

Hello, welcome to the second instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017’ thread Smile The first thread is here, if you want to read it: Part 1

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and we’re all starting to see some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food (at least, mine are changing!) Collectively we’ve lost 318 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time.

I will make one caveat, which I think is quite important for the spirit of the thread - we’re all here because we have a LOT of weight to lose. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this may not be the thread for you. Good luck with the weight loss, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals.

And with that little speech done, I’ll shut up now Grin

That's really good, I'm not grave enough to trust myself to be sensible and log my calories. Maybe eventually I'll be able to stop that but am prepared to do it forever if that's what it takes.

Loss this week (wk 33). 3.25lb
Total loss to date 68.25lb
Left to lose 31.75lb

Another 1.5lbs off.
On week 2 of Couch to 5k.
Did our local Park run today as well. It's 5k and I did it with a mixture of walking and running. Best thing was the massive encouragement I got from other runners and the volunteers. Will definitely be going again.
Need to lose another 40lbs but it's a slow loss since I began exercising. I know this is normal though and I am losing inches.
Feeling much more energetic since I started exercising.

WEEK TWO
This week loss : 3.6 lbs
Total Loss on My Fitness Pal : 7.3 lbs
Total Loss on Trend weight : 2.0 lbs
Target to lose : 120 lbs

NB. Trend weight is very cautious until it has several weeks of weight data and then it gets far more accurate.

Rumtopf · 01/07/2017 16:05

Brilliant you bunch of losers Grin

How come you're feeling a bit flat notanurse? You're doing marvellously well, is it other stuff bringing you down generally? Sorry if that's a bit intrusive?

I'm due on and have raging pmt. dh has left me alone, I'm binge watching crap on Netflix, drinking a G&T and doing some "grown up" colouring in. Some days I'd rather not be grown up at all!

MirabelleTree · 01/07/2017 16:12

A great week for us all, like being a loser Grin

I have PMT too and am pissed off at my Fitbit for deleting 1.5k steps randomly, flaming cheek! About to start Netflix binge watch.

NotaNurse is it that it feels there is still a long way to go and you're at the stage where you can't see much difference on yourself? You're approaching nearly 30% of the way. By Christmas you could have lost a further 3 stone potentially and start next year well over the halfway mark. I know none of that helps much when you feel flat Flowers

Rumtopf · 01/07/2017 16:27

What are you watching Mirabelle? I've just started watching Goliath and it seems quite good!
Riviera was brilliant too, caught up with all the ironing watching that.

ChestyNut · 01/07/2017 16:46

Really struggling since yesterday, the compulsion to stuff my fave and binge is huge Sad

Can't really pinpoint why Sad

Well done on the losses all Flowers

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 01/07/2017 19:16

Big hug Chesty - stick yourself in a bath, or paint your nails, or bung on a facemask - anything to keep you away from the kitchen. I'm not a girly girl in the slightest, but I currently have very nice nails and skin! It's ok to feel the compulsion - but it's only a feeling, nothing is happening, and you won't benefit from giving in. Big deep breaths!

Agree with what NoTractors says, anything you can find to divert yourself. I find walking can sometimes kill the urge but that is a bit hit and miss.

Rumtopf I enjoyed Goliath. Currently watching Skins which I'm enjoying as was a teenager in Bristol and it's making me laugh. Finished Suits and the Good Wife recently which were great. Will put Riviera on the list. Watching Bosch with DH.

Just been building an Ikea Pax wardrobe which must have sweated off some calories. Especially the moment we thought we weren't going to be able to stand it up because of the sloping roof.

ChestyNut · 01/07/2017 20:53

Thanks both I've had a bath painted my nails and about to watch a mark whalberg film.

BreakingSad · 01/07/2017 23:17

It has been busy on here.

Well done everyone, good losses all round.

Chesty hope the distractions are working
Flowers

I really like Goliath too, quite liked sneaky Pete as well, will check out Riviera after I've finished Better Call Saul. I like a good box set when I'm cycling.

Had a really good week, stayed on track even at the weekend.

Lost this week 2lbs
Lost to date 44
Left to lose 69

Rumtopf · 01/07/2017 23:42

Hope the distractions are working Chesty and you're ok.

I spent some of my youth in Bristol too Mirabelle and found Skins funny, dh has never lived there so didn't click with it as much. I'd move back like a shot!

Well done BreakingSad!

tigercub50 · 01/07/2017 23:46

Still reading that as a thousand pounds!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 01/07/2017 23:56

Thanks for your input tigercub - we might reach halfway to that at the end of the summer Smile

ChestyNut · 02/07/2017 09:59

1 1/2lbs off this week
Total- 28 1/2lbs
To lose- 71.5

2stone (and 1/2lb) at last! I've reached my first goal! Go me Smile

Will come back later, chestydog is crying for a walk Hmm

Rumtopf · 02/07/2017 12:36

Well done Chesty!

We go on holiday in 4 weeks and I desperately want to hit my mini goal before we go.

ChestyNut · 02/07/2017 13:01

rum remind me what your mini goal is?
Mine is now 3 stone Smile

I can't say I'm doing too well on developing a healthier attitude to food, spent a good while obsessing over the fact I'd eaten 2 19 calorie crackers at 10pm the other night and worrying about gaining Hmm

I'm either obsessing about binging or obsessing about reducing calories.

Anyway KOKO...

Rumtopf · 02/07/2017 15:59

It's to get down to 105kgs which would be 27.5lbs lost. Although I'm only at 15lbs so it's a bit ambitious before my holiday but I'll be heading in the right direction.

It's too easy to obsess isn't it. I'm either super strict or saying balls to it! Next 4 weeks is going to have to be super strict.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/07/2017 20:22

It was a big food day today, we had lunch out with extended family and friends. I resisted the temptation to order a 'good' meal, and went with the thing that I always order there so that I wouldn't feel hard-done by. I had fish and chips (haddock in batter, mushy peas and chips), but left some of the batter and only ate three of my chips, which was about a third of the chip portion as they were chunky skin-on type. I think that my stomach must have shrunk as I was genuinely too full to finish the meal and also genuinely too full to have a dessert although everybody else had one. I got an extra spoon and had a small spoonful of bread and butter pudding and of chocolate cake. Nobody noticed or cared that I'm on a diet even though every other time we've been there I've completely finished my meal and shared a dessert.

I've decided to adopt a zero-guilt policy, eat what everyone else is eating at a meal or whatever main course I want from the menu, but a bit less of it and only a little bit of the carbs and continue to not eat anything at all outside of meals. It's so much flipping easier than calculating calories or thinking I've spoiled my diet when, in fact, it's just one meal and almost certainly won't have much impact if we're only eating out every fortnight or so.

Rumtopf · 03/07/2017 12:57

BlackSugar, I think that's a really sensible and sustainable approach to have. I'm glad you enjoyed your meal out, I have friends that agonise about what to have when we eat out. It's so much easier to think ah I won't have the rice with that but I'll ask for a portion of veg instead.

I bought some lemon cheesecake at the weekend and it wasn't very nice at all! I had two bites and because it wasn't 100% brilliant I stopped eating and put it in the bin. Before I'd have still eaten it so as not to "waste it". I'm just menu planning for the week and trying to come up with nice and healthy, inexpensive meals - eating healthily is costing a lot more!

You made me laugh Notanurse, just when I'm on my stationary bikeGrin.

It is overwhelming Notanurse, I caught a glimpse of myself in a shop mirror and all I could think was how fat I still am (much slimmer in my head), but we are changing it.
