Anyone looking to lose 100lbs in 2017 - Part 2

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 04/05/2017 17:47

Hello, welcome to the second instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017’ thread Smile The first thread is here, if you want to read it: Part 1

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and we’re all starting to see some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food (at least, mine are changing!) Collectively we’ve lost 318 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time.

I will make one caveat, which I think is quite important for the spirit of the thread - we’re all here because we have a LOT of weight to lose. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this may not be the thread for you. Good luck with the weight loss, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals.

And with that little speech done, I’ll shut up now Grin

Zesty well done on the loss but sorry to hear that you are struggling...
TTC is such a hard/upsetting/stressful thing... I know what it feels like as am going through the same thing (we are TTC no 1, am nearly 42 so not much time left..)

zesty and london Flowers

Still KOKO

Went to first physio, she is a sadist! Woke up early for work and had a good sob at how much I hurt Sad

Thefrenchconnection1 · 09/06/2017 19:38

Hi all
Just weighing in. 2lbs lost now total loss of 8lb in 4 weeks
Been to nurse and BP has gone down. Nearly in normal range now. Walked loads this week. Starting to feel thinner and more energy. Had a few days of feeling shit but got through them without overeating (massive achievement for me)

ZestyDragon · 09/06/2017 23:32

London its a fucker isn't it? The doctor says it can still happen but my weight has probably had an impact. The ovulation blood test today has given me some hope though. DH needs to get tested too. Its just heartbreaking at this stage.

Thank you notanurse and chesty. This is not something I ever speak about. First time for everything though.

Chesty is it you that has the issue with the sacroiliac joint pain?

Well done French you are on your way!

tigercub50 · 09/06/2017 23:52

I actually read that as 1000llbs!

ChestyNut · 10/06/2017 07:46

zesty that was me, when I had phone consultation they said it could be SIJ.
Saw physio and wasn't impressed really but will see how it goes. She said it's just back pain but I don't see how that would give me pain round the front? Feel like its whole pelvis Sad

Also said not certain is due to weight and loosing might not help but have done some reading around obesity and back pain and the things she said I do e.g. Locked back knees and hyper extended lower back are listed as weight related from trying to balance the load Blush

I've got to focus on tucking bum under and do exercises and see her in 2 weeks. They do accupuncture which I'd love to try but she said "if we think it's appropriate"
Sad

MirabelleTree · 10/06/2017 08:12

I had Physio on my knee which I damaged moving something, was shocked at how painful the deep tissue massage was, it felt tender or days. But combined with exercises it did eventually help. Fingers crossed she will be able to help.

Well done Zesty and French connection, great news on the BP I had very long AF and have gained half a pound but am ignoring that and keeping at it but having a week or two of smaller calorie deficit.

I'm half a stone down. Which is usually when I start the self sabotage thing...

Been really busy with work, I'm self employed and had a lot of travel this week, plus a deadline. So, been working 14 hour days - not done ANY exercise. On the positive side - I've been too busy to nibble and drink wine, and, tomorrow's the deadline, so, I can get back to moving!

Roll on tomorrow...

Read that if you lose a pound a week you lose 4 stones in a year. That's amazing.

ChestyNut · 11/06/2017 09:30

2lb off
Total- 23lbs
To go- 77lbs

notanurse thanks. My thighs are no longer screaming every time I move from the physiosadist but back still painful Sad

Peaceandl0ve · 11/06/2017 09:52

Am going to be brave and weigh myself today! Have been dieting for three weeks so it is about time. I imagine iam about 192 lbs and will be trying to loose 64 lbs. hope you dont mind if i join in, i love this thread....

ChestyNut · 11/06/2017 10:14

They're a lovely supportive group peace
It's great to see the lbs come off not so good when you have a blip but just KOKO Smile

Peaceandl0ve · 11/06/2017 10:39

Well I did it! I am 176 lbs! Not as bad as i thought, 43 lbs to go and counting. Should take me until christmas but i will fit into a nice party dress! I hope i am allowed to stay on this thread I feel so supported and inspired by your stories.

ZestyDragon · 11/06/2017 13:34

Chesty - I have that issue and I get physio every 2/3 weeks. It gives you pain around the front by (inside the hip) because all the muscles are connected so if it pulls around the back it will pull around the front. It is the whole pelvis. The bum tucking and exercise is to start working on your core. Your core needs strengthening. As you lose weight other things will crop up and hurt. Weight does have an impact though I am down over 60 pounds and still in pain. But 4 months ago I was using a walking stick briefly so it's improved since then!

Half a pound after what you have been through is nothing mirabelle!

Another good loss Notanurse. The important thing is it's constantly reducing.

Stealth - we have all been there with the self sabotage. Keep posting! It will help.

Well done ashgrove!

Welcome aboard peace. This is a good thread. We are all just plodding along and if we help someone else then that's brilliant.

MsHeffalump · 11/06/2017 14:35

Speaking of self sabotage, it seems I fell off the wagon into a pit of political despair and chocolate. But still okay according to my spreadsheet, cos the first stone went faster than anticipated.

ChestyNut · 11/06/2017 14:36

60lbs is amazing Zesty
What do you do for the pain? Any thing help?

ZestyDragon · 11/06/2017 14:46

MsH I love a good excuse. Easter I accidently (ahem) ate 3 easter eggs. Just move on and forget about it!

Chesty long term, walking and doing core exercise helps. Walking with your core activated (ask the physio) will start to improve things. Short term, honestly, pain killers. Go to the doctor, tell them you are getting physio, doing exercise and losing weight but that you need something to ease the pain until those things start to help. I have used different things: co-codamol, strong anti-inflams, diazepam and amitriptoline. i think I spelled all of those wrong but those are the ones that I tried. I now am mostly off them but I won't just suffer anymore which is what I did for years.

Rumtopf · 11/06/2017 14:52

Hello everyone, I'm sticking my head back in. Hope everyone's well and doing ok?
I've regained a bit and have fallen out with the gym as I've managed to damage the rotator cuff in my left shoulder. We've had a busy, stressful couple of months with losing two of my aunts and I just haven't been able to keep my focus.
However, tomorrow is a new day and I'm getting back on it.

ZestyDragon · 11/06/2017 15:05

Hey Rum welcome back and I am sorry to hear about your losses and your injury.

Start tomorrow and carry on as you were! Its good that you can hop on here again and get started. Well done.

MsHeffalump · 11/06/2017 15:10

Amitriptylene, Zesty, but you got the rest right.

I had physio a while back, and apparently I tilt my pelvis weirdly. Physio sent me to a Pilate's class. Leader of which managed to freak me right out with sudden physical contact and I couldn't go back. Wasn't great.

Right, I'm off to jump on the exercise bike!

ChestyNut · 11/06/2017 17:20

Me too heffalump bum out and hyper extended. Feels so strange walking thrusting my lady garden forward Grin

MsHeffalump · 11/06/2017 17:50

I blame DC, Chesty. My pelvis was fine until the last months of pregnancy! These days I mostly feel like my lower back is folding in half, and no matter how I contort I can't seem to bend it the other way. As for the stomach effect... It must be bad, because the other day Next Door asked when I'm due. I had her four years ago!
