Two I think we may be twins! Grin Am also only just learning to accept myself. NoS has helped me a lot with that. I'm never going to be a skinny minny, but I can eat with moderation and have control around food. Its awesome!

twofloorsup · 15/06/2017 22:06

Haha I think you may be right Smile
I've also accepted I'll never be skinny but I've stopped bothering to hate my body. It was so exhausting !
Talking of which it seems my tiredness was caused by excessive CO2 levels at work Shock

PosiePootlePerkins · 15/06/2017 22:17

Hello! Can I join please? I'm getting married in September and I need to lose some weight, I have a terrible relationship with food. I just can't stay away from it...no idea where or how to start

twofloorsup · 15/06/2017 22:43

I'm ok thanks Posie it seems like they caught it in time thankfully.
Lorel welcome. Start with the No S website or scroll back through this thread as its all there somewhere.
I'm just off to bed now but can reply to any questions you may have tomorrow. It's a great place to be Smile

beela · 16/06/2017 06:59

Oh goodness two - so glad they caught it!

Welcome to newcomers. I echo what the others have said. Stick to the rules and fill your plates full! If you get hungry then try to distract yourself with a hot drink or doing something. It takes a while to get used to it but it does come.

I hit a mini goal yesterday - exactly 10kg lost since I started! Oh, and I went clothes shopping and the usual size 14s were huge on me Grin

twofloorsup · 16/06/2017 07:41

Wow Beela that's amazing well done !
How long have you been doing this ?

beela · 16/06/2017 07:55

Bang on 5 months now.

beela · 16/06/2017 07:56

Thank you Smile

lorelairoryemily · 16/06/2017 09:57

Thanks two, I've looked at the website, just wondering is there a specific way to start? Detox? What kind of things do you eat for breakfast lunch and dinner? I'm assuming water only to drink...

Mummybear1984 · 16/06/2017 11:19

I'm on my third day. Had 2 days with just the meals. I haven't really worried too much about the meals just no snacks and one helping.
Yesterday I had:
B- 40g weetabix minis with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
L- at a hospital canteen- broccoli and cauliflower pasta bake.
D- home made lasagne with salad.

I wouldn't normally have pasta for lunch and dinner but I'd already taken the lasagne out of the freezer. I found yesterday very tough as went to the zoo in the afternoon. It was very hot and I had a headache so early night!

I haven't detoxed or anything just started by cutting out snacks especially chocolate, cakes, biscuits and crisps etc.

lorelairoryemily · 16/06/2017 11:55

Thanks mummy, I'm going to start on Monday... I eat a lot of snacks and crap so hopefully I'll manage to give them up!

PosiePootlePerkins · 16/06/2017 12:40

Hi lorelairoremily you can eat whatever you like as long as it fits on one plate. Any drinks as long as not sugary. No need to detox, just jump right in!
Beela fantastic Star and such a nice feeling when clothes become loose!
Mummybear good job, sounds like you're settling in to it.
Ariston where are you? Hope you're ok. Come and post if you're struggling. Or even if you're all good!

What's the NoS diet?

lorelairoryemily · 16/06/2017 12:57

Thanks posie, is fruit ok or limited?

PosiePootlePerkins · 16/06/2017 14:05

Fruit is fine if it fits on your plate! So, I'll often have a sandwich, fruit and a yoghurt for lunch because I can fit all that on one plate. Occasionally I'll have an apple after dinner if I feel the need for something 'extra' and I don't worry about it because at the end of the day its only an apple. But to begin with its best to be as strict as possible to get the habits ingrained, which is more important than weight loss to start with.
Lady in a nutshell, no snacks sweets or seconds except for days beginning with S ie weekend and special days like birthdays . Lots of info on the official NoS website.

twofloorsup · 16/06/2017 15:05

Lorel I tend to eat porridge loaded with nuts and seeds and dried fruit or eggs and something.
Lunch can be a fruit and veg smoothie, leftovers, eggs if I didn't have them for breakfast or like today because I'm ravenous- shreddies Grin
Certainly no detox necessary and like Posie says fruit is fine if it's part of the plate for that meal.

beela · 16/06/2017 18:27

Lorel there's no need to do anything special to start. Just stop eating snacks, seconds, and sweets. Come and join us Smile tea and coffee are fine to drink, and I have managed to convince myself that sparkling water is a treat. Sometimes if I'm feeling really reckless I add a splash of apple juice Shock

AristonAndOn · 16/06/2017 19:04

I am sheepishly checking in. Having a bad week, again. Blush

twofloorsup · 16/06/2017 20:49

Beela I love sparkling water (but it makes me belch like a manShock)
Hi Ariston you've got a lot on don't be too hard on yourself.

beela · 16/06/2017 21:25

Hi ariston. Don't feel sheepish, good to see you!

lorelairoryemily · 16/06/2017 22:00

Thanks so much two and beela. I love the fizz so maybe I'll convince myself the same!!!

PosiePootlePerkins · 16/06/2017 22:09

Hey Ariston. Good to hear from you. Don't feel awkward, we're here to support you if you need it. Smile

AristonAndOn · 16/06/2017 22:38

Hello everyone. Thanks for kind words. I feel I've asked for a lot of help lately. Feeling a bit embarrassed. I do realise I'm struggling after years of disordered eating 😩 I need my confidence back! Perhaps tomorrow I will get back on track!

beela · 17/06/2017 06:43

Don't be daft ariston! Supporting each other is what this thread is for. And talking it through makes us stronger. You've done so well - iirc you've lost the most out of all of us? It sounds like you need to take a deep breath and make a fresh start.... I know that is easier said than done.

Be kind to yourself Flowers
