I'll get my sledgehammer and see if I can break this 6month wall!!! 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨
Bow bear, I'm glad you enjoyed Greenday, I loved them as a teenager and recently downloaded their stuff, really brought me back lol!

AristonAndOn · 02/07/2017 12:53

Hi Monster, don't give yourself a hard time is what I've learned. Im not doing wonderfully at the moment, but I'm miles better than 6 months ago. You have a lot going on at the moment and it's so easy to self soothe with food which is what I do. It's doesn't ultimately make you feel better though, but breaking the habit is hard.
This diet is a good one, you are not tied to lots of rules about what to eat, that certainly makes it's easier if you have young children, making different meals to others is a total pain.
So I'd say just make a start, like I am at the moment. Fill your plates at meals times and in between meals distract yourself, or make yourself a cuppa if you need your mouth to be busy! There is so much support here, good luck.

MonsterQueen · 02/07/2017 14:40

Thank you for the warm welcome. It certainly comes over as a supportive non-judgemental thread. I like what I have seen on googling also, so I will pull up a chair and make myself comfy.

I have lost 2 stone with SW/WW, but have not budged for 7 weeks. Not gained though, so that is good, especially as not really sticking to it for the past month. I have about 5 more stones to go.

I think this is a way of eating I could follow for life.

twofloorsup · 02/07/2017 14:50

Monster the only thing I will say is it's definitely not a quick fix, more of a work in progress learning new things about yourself and food along the way. I've done slimming world and was very successful on it but ultimately gained it all and then some.

I don't really weigh myself often but I believe I'm about 1.5 stones lighter than in January. Not 100% sure as I used to weigh on carpet in my old flat and don't have to now.

PosiePootlePerkins · 02/07/2017 18:38

Hi everyone I can feel the positive vibes coming from the thread! Excellent support from everyone as alwaysSmile
Ariston hello, keep on trying lovely, that is all. I think it helps sometimes to ask what the alternatives are. I admire the fact that you keep checking in and being honest, it would be so easy to just be in denial but you are facing up to it and that counts for a lot.
I think you all have a valid point about a 6 month wall, April was around 6 months in for me and I remember clearly wanting to give up. We were off on our short break to Spain and somehow that tipped the balance in my head, I just wanted to eat and eat. I have in fact had many moments like it while following NoS! Sometimes I've given in and sometimes I've stayed strong, but the main change for me is that I have always got back on it. Whereas in the past I have just given up completely and gone back to the bad old habits.
Welcome True and Monster, I hope you find NoS suits you.
As for me, we've had a weekend away in our van and just back home sorting out all the stuff. How can one nights camping create so much chaos?! I have enjoyed some treats and am feeling OK. Main aim for this week is to do some exercise!

OP posts:
twofloorsup · 02/07/2017 20:07

Hi Posie. I'm trying to keep up the exercise with a busy diary this week so thanks for the reminder Smile

beela · 02/07/2017 20:38

Ok posie, that's all the proof I need - it's definitely a 6 month wall and I just need to get my head down and get past it Grin

There was a lot of cake this weekend Cake. Scary to think that all my days used to be like that. I'm actually quite looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow.

Good luck with all the mini goals this week... mine is eating enough lunch so I'm not ravenous at kids tea time!

twofloorsup · 02/07/2017 21:32

I went to a wedding yesterday and there was two massive trays of cake all sliced up.
I'll be honest it turned my stomach !
Previously I would have worked my way through 2 or 3 slices no problem.
So despite the wall I'm getting somewhere Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 02/07/2017 21:51

Beela hang on in there, it will be worth it when you're another month down the line! Good luck with the lunches, don't be afraid of eating enough of the right things to fill you up. Avocado is a favourite if mine, feels reasonably healthy and is filling.
Two that is massive progress, definitely the kind of thing to take note of and feel good about. Good luck with the exercise, I'll let you know how I get on!

Can I also please ask, given how quickly this thread is filling up, that one of you lovely ladies starts the next one when we need it - I would feel a little silly being the OP again when everyone is in this togetherSmile thank you!

If I'm on here when it gets close I don't mind doing it Posie.
It will motivate me to keep posting and make me accountable Smile

AristonAndOn · 02/07/2017 22:58

Wow, I remember asking whether we would all still be on here when the next thread fills up and there it is a testament to the confidence in the diet that lots of us still are! Here's to a thousand more posts 🍾🍾🍾

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/07/2017 05:58

Checking back in after the weekend - lots of wine, lots of food, and then I was hungover yesterday so it turned into a fail (my usual S days are Friday and Saturday). Oops! Mark it and move on, I think.

Welcome Monster and True! Bowbear, Green Day sounds awesome!

beela · 03/07/2017 06:29

ariston I remember you saying that.... and I said we'd all still be here but thinner! I've just checked and I am about a stone (and a dress size) smaller than I was at the start of this thread!! Thank you so much for the fab support lovely ladies. I couldn't have done it without you lot.

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/07/2017 07:18

Thanks two that would be fab.
Ariston I'm up for that! I feel confident we will keep this running.
Beela interesting, have had a look back at my weight at the beginning of this thread and am around 9 pounds lighter! This NoS thing does seem to work its magic somehow!
Cheddar yep mark it and move on, today is a new daySmile
Have a good Monday everyone

Thanks Posie and beela

Good morning all and welcome truelove and Monster

My S -Sunday was so-so. I actually didn't enjoy eating all over the place, didn't feel good. But I tried to be a bit more observing and actually learned a bit about possible triggers.
Also, I was so excited to have some of my – what I thought – second favourite chocolate and it was just 'meh' at most. Astonishing.

Right, a few things to do and then off on holiday!
I'll have patchy internet connection but might pop my head In as it were.
Have a good week everyone!

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/07/2017 14:10

Have a lovely holiday VenellaSmile

Giddyaunt18 · 03/07/2017 14:19

Hi all, I'm still here. I started this in April and have gone from 10st 2 to 9st 5. When I got to 9st 9 I plateaued so carried on No S but blended with Intermittent fasting or 16:8 so Haven't had breakfast since half term. That got me losing again so am now 1lb off my target of 9st 4. I don't think I could've done no breakfast if I hadn't got really good on No S. Not eating a thing between meals is now second nature and something I will carry on beyond my target. Good luck everyone.

Giddyaunt18 · 03/07/2017 14:21

just wanted to add It is so worth it. Can't tell you what a kick I get out of slipping gone trousers that I was struggling to button up in April. Keep at it!

Giddyaunt18 · 03/07/2017 14:21

Slipping on!

twofloorsup · 03/07/2017 14:56

Well done Giddyaunt that's fab.
Have a lovely holiday Venella.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/07/2017 15:50

That's brilliant, Giddy! It is so good to hear inspiring stories of No S.

I am learning that a bad habit is to declare S days for an awful lot of things. Pay day. First day of period. Any night out/hangover not covered by my usual Fri/Sat S days (friends keep organising nights out on Thursdays!). Meals in proper restaurants. Days off work - bearing in mind that we get a lot more holidays in the UK than in the US, I need to really watch this one! Halloween. And that's before we get into the usual round of birthdays, weddings etc! This week I have a wedding on Friday, family get-together on Saturday and DS's birthday on Sunday. DS's birthday has to be an S day so I can have birthday cake. The self-control comes in on the Thursday when we will be staying in a holiday cottage with family - must stick to 2 drinks! Usually a 6 hour drive would be an excuse for throwing all restraint to the four winds and eating endless Maltesers in the car 'for energy'. Hmm

twofloorsup · 03/07/2017 17:56

TooExtra just remember that vital S - "Sometimes" Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/07/2017 18:07

I think the official line is two non weekend S days a month, planned in advance wherever possible. Just saying CheddarWink
