bowbear and ariston you have inspired me. I'm going to set myself a mini target once I've been for my weigh in later (still don't own any scales so still have to make an effort to weigh myself! Probably a good thing or I'd get obsessed). Will report back.

Happy Friday everyone Smile

beela · 19/05/2017 13:21

Well I lost another lb, so still heading in the right direction.

I weigh 11 stone 3 now (started at 12 stone 9), so my mini target is to get below 11 stone and be 10 something.

bowbear · 19/05/2017 18:39

Thank you so much everyone! It's definitely spurred me on to stay on the right side of the chart :)
Ariston, that's amazing how much you've lost so far!! Mini goals definitely make it easier, I find it can be so overwhelming unless I break it down a bit.
Well done Beela - good luck with your mini goal!
Have a lovely weekend everyone :)

Evening all Smile
Does anyone else find baked beans too sweet nowadays ?
I can't stomach them since starting No S and I used to eat them about 3/4 times a week. I'm going to have a go at doing home made ones.

beela · 19/05/2017 20:53

Have you tried the low salt low sugar ones?

twofloorsup · 19/05/2017 21:50

No cos opening the tin on the regular ones makes me want to heave Envy
I'm starting to be more conscious of what's in my food too so I think I'll try making my own first.

beela · 20/05/2017 06:26

That will probably be healthier. I switched to the low salt & sugar ones when ds started eating them so even before I started no-s I found the regular ones too sweet.

I've promised both dc we can bake this weekend. Ds wants to make a lemon cheesecake. Happily I don't really like cheesecake so won't be tempted Grin

Have a good weekend all.

twofloorsup · 20/05/2017 07:30

I've offered to do some baking with my kids at half term and we've got cheesecake, lasagne and pancakes on the list. I can't eat any of that so happy days Smile

Lovelymonkeyninetynine · 21/05/2017 22:50

Hi everyone, can I join you? Your posts are very inspiring, I've had enough of bingeing/dieting and I want to embed really good habits for the future.

beela · 22/05/2017 06:42

Hello lovelymonkey, welcome Smile you've come to the right place.

Yesterday I had no s's. Usually at the weekend I do cos I can. But I didn't bother yesterday. It felt really good actually that I didn't cos I just didn't need to, rather that because I was following the rules. I just need to keep that up all week now. But that's ok, I am feeling determined this week.

Off to do my exercise dvd before the dc wake up.

Have a good week everyone

PosiePootlePerkins · 22/05/2017 18:30

Welcome lovelymonkey I hope you find NoS suits you, any questions just ask. Lots of information on the NoS website and there's a forum too which is helpful.
Beela awesome! That is real progress. Hope today continued to go well.
I am fine, maintaining my weight which I have made my peace with, it will come off when it is readyGrin

Welcome lovely monkey. There is lots of support here, I hope this will work for you, it's tough to start with, well I did find it anyway, but it has made the world of difference to my physical and mental wellbeing. Good luck 💐

twofloorsup · 22/05/2017 19:47

Hi all and welcome lovely monkey

I'm actually struggling today.
Change in work hours and too small a lunch meant I had to put in a 4th meal. Ok it was only a slice of crusty toast and a glass of milk but it still feels like failure.
If I'd had the toast at lunch it would have fitted on my plate. Funny how old guilt feeling has returned to haunt me I feel quite down about it. Yet I know I'm being ridiculous !

AristonAndOn · 22/05/2017 19:50

I find the half terms very challenging, and it looks like I might be going away for a few days to a seaside town. Lots of temptation there and meals out. I wonder if my resolve will hold?! I'm going with some big eaters. Also a fil that like to comment on my food choices, so slightly dreading it. Anyway, I don't want to mess it up as I've got a big milestone weight loss coming up. Just 1lb to get off and I'm half way to my goal! I really don't want to go on about it, but I'm actually very relieved to have got the weight off, i feel so much better, despite still so much to get off. Anyway, if I can shift a pound this week, I have then lost 4 stone 😊 I'll have to keep that goal on my mind so I can avoid too many fish and chips.

AristonAndOn · 22/05/2017 19:58

I totally understand two, I can feel I have totally cracked and then all of a sudden I have a bad day and all the guilt returns. For me it is when I perceive that I have lost control. I then feel rubbish all day and have thoughts of restricting the next day which I try not to do as it's a yoyo dieting slippery slope.
You haven't overeaten though two and sometimes I think you must listen to your body also. There is a difference between the being a bit hungry which you can cope with and perhaps your blood sugar was low, so you probably needed to eat. Don't worry about it, you have done so well.

PosiePootlePerkins · 22/05/2017 21:23

Two I think you should be proud of yourself for managing your hunger in a controlled and sensible way. Basically what Ariston said! It could have triggered a lot more eating but you did what you needed to do so no need to beat yourself up.
Ariston I completely understand about the holiday, when we went to Spain I had a real urge to just give up for the whole of April! So silly but I have such a strong link with holidays and eating. What I actually did was to allow myself two special week days, where I could eat treats if I fancied them. Then I was able to stick to meals on the other days. Shame about your FIL, it really is none of his business what you choose to eat or not eat, try and smile sweetly and just ignore it, whilst silently strangling him in your head! Seriously though come and post on here if its getting you down, we'll try and get you through it.

Ariston 4 stone is amazing! Can't believe I missed that part of your post! I bet you do feel so much better for it, well done you.

twofloorsup · 22/05/2017 21:26

Thanks I think you're both right.
I didn't have my planned cooked dinner I've gone for something more carby. I am exercising too so I guess that won't help.
I'm off half term too maybe we can check in here a bit - keep ourselves accountable Smile
Well done on your weight loss. I'm feeling slightly less blubby now I'm moving more.

twofloorsup · 22/05/2017 21:27

I missed that too !
4 stone is incredible Smile

AristonAndOn · 22/05/2017 22:30

Thanks for the well dones 😊 I feel a bit embarrassed writing about it. Not sure why. Perhaps because I've been here before, at slimming world, I lost really well and then lost it and put it all back on. I always feel like my weight is a fraud, that I'm not really that weight and any second I'll realise how fat I really am!! Guess I've got some issues there.
Anyway, I will keep accountable. I've picked a cottage with wifi so no excuse.

AristonAndOn · 22/05/2017 22:32

Will definately imagine strangling Fil 😆

beela · 23/05/2017 06:54

Ariston wow that's amazing! Well done you. I remember you talking about your fil before. Perhaps you could use the mumsnet phrase of 'did you mean to be so rude?'.... or at least keep it up your sleeve just in case Grin

Two that sounds fine, and as though it was you in control and not your stomach. Brilliant.

AristonAndOn · 25/05/2017 21:57

Have a happy weekend. This warm week has been a struggle with the temptation of ice cream, so my planned treat is an ice cream if the urge is still there tomorrow.

AristonAndOn · 26/05/2017 07:28

Oh dear, what a disappointment to realise it is Friday today....last night I thought it was the weekend when I woke up, oh dear, there is no hope for me.

MarysPlace · 26/05/2017 07:28

I ama week and a half into No S now. Am combining with a big effort todrink more water. Eating normal food. Portion of fruit with every meal. Weiight is definitely coming off. Not an S has crossed my lips this week. The key is the snacks for me. There's something about eating a snack that triggers the need for another snack. Also, no need to count out 22 nuts or make stupid protein balls. Thanks to all on this thread for getting me started on No S.
