Hi all,
Have seen the No S threads quite a lot and recently read my way through them. Just wanted to say this seems to make an awful lot of sense. I think the no snacking bit is key. It's so easy to think oh I'll just have a 100 calorie snack. Then you can't quite decide which 100 calorie snack to have - kit kat, biscuits, banana, olives, nuts - and before you know it you've eaten all of them. Trying to disengage from food except at mealtimes is key I think. Which is especially hard if you're at home and in/near the kitchen a lot.
Anyway, haven't bought the book yet but started no snacks, sugar etc a few days ago. Was looking for something that isn't a diet, doesn't need special food, can be used for life.
Also, just read the book 'How to have your cake and your skinny jeans too' (recommended on another thread) and there's quite a bit of overlap here. She writes about taking up the eating habits of people who don't appear to put on weight, and I'm thinking that No S would be pretty close to that, with the exception that she talks about only eating when you're hungry, and one of you on this thread mentioned that that is not very practical in the modern world. I guess no S means that you are hungry when you eat though.
Need to lose at least a stone, preferably more. I notice on the NHS website that the weigh range for my height (5' 2 ish) spans over 2 stones - I am at least looking to get down to the top of that!
