Oh Ariston bless you !
Nothing worse Shock

I'm struggling a little with picking whilst cooking. I think it's because I leave it til I'm starving to sort dinner.

Half term next week so I'm going to carefully meal plan and do some baking and cooking to mix things up a bit.

Have a good weekend all - once it arrives Wink

beela · 26/05/2017 08:58

Hold that thought ariston - hopefully it will still be warm enough for an ice cream tomorrow Wink

I've had a slightly cheaty week - just little things like eating half of dd's ice cream (which was melting all over me whilst she was playing on a slide.... Wasn't sure how else to stop the drips??) and splitting my evening meal into two - bowl of cereal at 6pm, then a swim, and then some nibbles at the pub after swimming.

On the plus side though, i have resisted lots of cake at work, and found two summer tops that didn't fit last summer and are now perfect! My boobs have definitely shrunk. Yay!!

twofloorsup · 26/05/2017 20:43

Beela I've been splitting my lunch if necessary to go to the gym.
I have a banana before and a smoothie with fruit and veg afterwards.
I haven't needed anything more than this so hope it's ok.
Still don't weigh myself so I'm not sure what effect it will have on my weight.

PosiePootlePerkins · 26/05/2017 21:06

Sounds like we're all mostly on track, just a few niggles to iron out, I guess awareness is key though, keep on keeping on everyone Smile
Mary'splace you are doing really well. Completely agree about not having to count stuff, make special stuff, you can just get on with normal eating, such a relief!
We're off camping in our new campervan on Weds, I hope the weather holds. I think I might take a special day on the Weds as I still have one in the bank for May, will see how it goes.
Have a great weekend everyone.

twofloorsup · 28/05/2017 07:27

Posie enjoy your camper van and a Wednesday S day sounds fine if all planned out.
I'm not as strict with myself as I started off and I'm not sure how to get it back. I do want to get it back.
I think adding exercise in has made it more tricky for me but I know it's beneficial for me. But can someone tell my knees that Grin

beela · 28/05/2017 07:39

I feel the same.

I think I'm going to aim for a super strict week this week. I'll post here each day to say whether I've managed it. I think I need the accountability... but apologies in advance if I bore everyone! Join me if you like two? Or anyone else Smile

beela · 28/05/2017 07:45

Also just remembered it's half term so I definitely need something to keep me on track... I find it harder when out of routine.

PosiePootlePerkins · 28/05/2017 07:58

Hi beela and two. I have posted on the NoS forum about setbacks and apparently its really normal to have moments where you find it harder to stick to plan. I will paste a comment from oolala, a regular poster on the forum, she's followed NoS for 7 (I think) years and is a great source of wisdom!

You're getting it. (Not to scare you- I wonder if it bugs Reinhard that I tell people this?- but these little periods can recur for a few years, very likely as the body resists the new set point. And even those who've maintained for five years still have a 25% relapse rate. I hope that just makes you more determined.)

This was in response to a blip where I just wanted to eat, and managed to resist. I guess determination and a fair amount of stubborness is what keeps me going!
Good luck.

And yes definitely post on here no matter how your day has been, I think it really helps to keep going if you have a place where you can be accountable even when things haven't gone quite to plan.

Thanks Beela and Posie having the support here makes a huge difference and is a far cry from the walk of shame from the slimming world scales Grin
I'm up for accountability as I'm off for half term and love to bake while I'm home. Posting here will be helpful.

I've actually had a snack today in the form of a chocolate banana smoothie as we were up so early for the car boot sale and breakfast seems like an age ago !
Not beating myself up (much) as its allowed Smile

AristonAndOn · 29/05/2017 10:29

Hi everyone. Good idea to keep posting for accountability. Had S days yesterday and feeling the guilt! My back has got hurt again so can't exercise, my routine has gone, so feeling worried about bingeing. I will try hard! Not going away now as I'm caring for my mum who dislocated and broke her wrist.

AristonAndOn · 29/05/2017 10:30

Hi Two, my children have asked to bake, I find when I bake there is so much that I can't help trying and then eat loads!

beela · 29/05/2017 11:34

Day 1 of half term and my children have already requested that we bake a cake today as well! My cunning plan is to make dh's favourite so that he eats it all.

AristonAndOn · 29/05/2017 11:59

Good idea Beela!

twofloorsup · 29/05/2017 12:03

I'm ok with baking as I still just don't fancy any of it. I do bake savoury stuff when I do it but the thought of kids hands in anything makes me not want to eat it anyway even though they're my kids , teenagers and not dirty. I just can't stomach it Grin

AristonAndOn · 29/05/2017 12:34

Ha, you see I mainly take control when cooking, I find it hard. So they let isnto let them do it and it won't taste as nice 👍🏼

beela · 29/05/2017 19:06

Day 1 of my super-strict get-me-back-on-course week: did my exercise dvd and had a bowl of granola with stewed rhubarb for breakfast. Developed tummy ache (not to do with my brekkie, I don't think!) and haven't eaten for the rest of the day!

Quite hungry now so, having skipped lunch completely, I think I might try having some tea.

So not quite the triumph of willpower that I was aiming for but no cheating at least!

AristonAndOn · 29/05/2017 19:53

Well done Beela, that is very good, not your tummy ache but your determination. Hope you feel better soon.
My intentions went to pot this evening, had a meal out and pudding 😣 Now I have tummy ache too. Does anyone else find when you eat healthily for a long time, that rich food makes you feel ill? I need to start again tomorrow. I will be strict this week too.

twofloorsup · 29/05/2017 19:58

I've not managed so well , I've had a bite of this and a bite of that when I went to visit DS1. Had to mentally stop myself grabbing a handful of grapes when I unpacked the shopping just now. I'm so hungry but don't fancy what I'm cooking !
Did some exercise this morning but a half hearted effort as my knees still hurt.
Ariston I can't eat more than a spoonful of double cream after years on slimming world it just goes straight through me (sorry TMI).

beela · 30/05/2017 22:00

Day 2 - did it! I even wiped the drips off dd's ice cream with a tissue instead of licking them Grin

AristonAndOn · 30/05/2017 23:01

Beela well done really good. Please give me serious kick into touch. Can't cope with half term and losing routine.

twofloorsup · 31/05/2017 06:07

Well done Beela.
Ariston I'm also struggling with lack of routine and I just feel so hungry between meals. Seriously considering 4 plates on those days where I'm awake for 18 hours.

beela · 31/05/2017 08:07

18 hours is a long time. How do you space it out at the mo? Splitting sounds reasonable, especially if you are exercising too.

Ariston I've got my determined head on this week. Have you ended up going away? I found it really hard when we were away at Easter.

AristonAndOn · 31/05/2017 08:19

No I'm not away, but I'm always so busy in term time so can be distracted. I'm spending a lot of time at home at the moment and can't even go out for walks as I've hurt my back, my DH is home which is stressful and my Mum needs looking after. I'm getting the emotional eating urge and can't use my normal distractions of exercise and being busy. I'm cross with myself.

beela · 31/05/2017 08:28

Flowers could you get a project going to distract you.... sorting out photos into a photo book or something?
