3 page-starts in a row. Does that win me a prize, or extra calorie allowance? Wink

Haha no romance, visiting a good friend so there'll be rather too much of 🍷on the horizon.
jonty, I think you're doing well to be at this weight considering the health & work stress you've been under for weeks (prob months at this stage) You clearly haven't been eating your feelings. I empathise on wanting to have reached goal before your shopping trip - I remember you mentioning around the time I started "the dress" goal - I'm beginning to think goals aren't the way forward for me, I seem to go resolutely the other way! I think the new non goal will be to get through each week with varying degrees of dieting goodness. So a 100% week where you stick to mfp limit every day, get a few exercise sessions in, a 80% week where you get a decent day off from the regime etc etc, bearing in mind my maths is off but you get the drift. I'll have to go for a 50% week this week, I have Monday through to Thursday afternoon that I can keep a good control on. At least I'm visiting a v slim and not big water friend, that'll help.

Thanks Bath for remembering about the work probation, I've got a week left of the extension period and DS has come down with a nasty col - I'm handwashing like a demon trying not to catch it, I can't get ill again this week.

Not2bObvious · 13/03/2017 20:36

Evening all, quiet here today - hope that's a good sign? Busy day and ended it around 1150 so that's great, did about an hours gardening which was great. Then did around 35 mins of weights, couldn't get to the gym so it was the next best thing to do a couple of fitness blender sessions.
So today is a 100% day😉

Evening.

Nice to 'see' you Not. Good to see you re-grouping. I was never a fan of your 'dress' goal tbh. I felt it was too prescriptive and maybe a bit too focused on physical appearance if you don't mind me saying, like 1 or 2 lbs over meant 'failure'? I LOVE your thought process now, it's totally workable, gives room for normal life to take place, and it a change in lifestyle/approach rather than a weight loss goal. If that's okay to say?

Hope today has been a good day Bath. Smile

I think maintaining in those circumstances is brill Jonty. Fingers crossed you don't get ill, and good luck for the coming week.

Good day today. All good. All positive. 7 mile run done. Eating according to plan.

B - bagel with peanut butter (had a craving!!), 3 clementines.
L - edamame bean salad, massive bowl of fruit. 2 chocolates
D - veggie bol
S - cherry toms and one glass of wine.

Lolimax · 13/03/2017 21:15

Hello! Just been to my second Strong by Zumba. Anyone else gone? It's good, lots of planky type things and burpees. Had me sweating! Very attractive in a 47 year old.
Been good ish, out Saturday night with the girls but apart from that I've stuck to the straight and narrow.
Kitchen closed today at 1500 so I'm heading off to bed as DH is afternoons and I'm bored!

Not2bObvious · 13/03/2017 21:38

I don't think I've ever heard of something like that loli, so you do Zumba but also pretty tough cardio & conditioning? Honestly you are a new woman these days, you probably barely recognise yourself! Off to bed for an early one too, my dh has early shift tomorrow so he's gone to bed ages ago - bad mum that I am I have my 12yo keep me company, bout 30 mins past her bedtime...I will pay for that tomorrow morning😩 Backs creaky after gardening & weights, but with luck I'll be ok for tomorrow's afternoon class.

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 06:19

loli, class sound brill. I am usually a sweaty 45 year old so you are in company.

No running here today as tapering a touch for a race but lots of good food in the house.

2 classes, cardio and core this morning, boot Camp with DD later.

Have a good day y'all, lots to fit in in between.Smile

Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 18:26

Had a busy day, just having a cuppa before I head out to my class.

B - porridge, mango, grapes and blueberries.
L - massive green salad, dried fruit, some of last nights veggie bol sauce.
D - Jools Oliver spicy sausage and bean stew with rice and green beans.
S - maybe a glass or wine or glass of almond milk.

JontyDoggle37 · 14/03/2017 18:39

Loli well done on the class sounds good
Need that Jules Oliver stew sounds lovely
Will come in at around 1900 today but the day started at 4am, so extra 'keep me going' calories required
Will be early to bed tonight as exhausted. Last 3 days of working week set to be very full on as well.

Not2bObvious · 14/03/2017 20:46

Looked up Zumba strong after posting last night loli, sounds awesome! Sadly not in my little county yet😞 Another early waker here to jonty so I can see how the calories got a bit over. Hope the next 3 days go well - you got this😉 Not a bad day, but not as good as yesterday - around 1700 I think? I was proper tired after early wake up. I'm going to call this an 80% day on my new non goal scale

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 22:05

Evening.

2 classes was tough, but shows my weaknesses, I can run and run, the core strength and leg strength needs to be better. But that's great, 'cos working on my weaknesses will only improve the running and it's fun improving.

DD really enjoyed the class, found it easier that last week and says it has already improved her seat in riding. Good stuff all round. Smile

Jonty I hope you get a good nights sleep. 3 more days, get through tomorrow and that's just 2 more days, then 1, then bingo, you are done!

The sausage stew was dead easy Jonty. Fry off an onion and 2 cloves of diced garlic, stir in smoked paprika, cumin and seasoning. Add diced red/yellow pepper, leek (I omitted as DS doesn't like), tin of mixed beans, 1.5 tins of chopped tomatoes, some worcester sauce, tiny bit of mustard and some sausages that have been grilled/browned off. Simmer for 40 minutes, or stick in SC as I did because we all ate at different times tonight. Served with rice and steamed green beans.

Hope you okay Bath?

And Daw, are you okay? Hope so. xx

JontyDoggle37 · 15/03/2017 05:31

Not well done on the 80% day
Need thanks for the recipe I'll make it tonight for dinner!
Got a nice surprise in the scales this morning - 0.75lb loss! Even more miraculous as it's the start of TOTM. And, wait for it, I SLEPT EIGHT HOURS!!!!! I feel like shouting it from the rooftops Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 15/03/2017 05:35

Oh nearly forgot:
B: toast with half an avocado mixed with line, chilli and black pepper, a big wedge of steamed spinach and an egg
L: hot smoked sweet chilli salmon, green beans, cannellini beans, tomatoes, some fruit
D: Need's sausage recipe!

Not2bObvious · 15/03/2017 05:46

Hurrah jonty! I woke AGAIN just before 4am and I want to scream from the rooftops😂 That is great, exactly what you need, a decent nights sleep will get you through today. Yummy recipe need, will copy & try myself soon.
These few days before my trip I've been having only liquids before lunch, so a selection of slow pressed veg/fruit juices. Having my last one today, then what I hope is Thai green curry soup for lunch (I took it out of the freezer around 4.30am, tiredness & lack of labelling could mean I'm in for a surprise!) and shepards pie with lots of green veg for dinner. Some last minute holiday shopping this afternoon, then to pack!!! Only 1 more bad sleep to go😉

I think non-goals are the way to go not. Life is complicated enough than to make ambitious goals. Whilst every intention is there, it actually creates more pressures, and sets yourself up for more failure. Aim low, then the sense achievement is better! Ahh, the wisdom that age & experience brings says she having entered for two half-marathons in recent years, what the blazes was I thinking, luckily two fit friends could take my place without any additional training

So glad to hear about the sleep jonty, but sorry you were awake far too early again not. How exciting for your trip away. I really really hope you have a lovely time, so well-deserved.

Need - I have all those ingredients in, and am going to cook that delicious meal this evening. Thank you!

Out with work all day monday, 4+ hours driving, rest meetings. Am feeling very tired, and rather flat to be honest. I think anxiety or something similar is brewing. DD had a bit of a relapse too which for some bizarre reason knocks me more than it does her. Thankfully she's bounced back fine everything crossed. I'm the one now feeling concerned & deflated. Teary too. Which also means no exercise & eating too much. Viscous circle. Me me me, sorry folks. Know you all understand though.

Not2bObvious · 15/03/2017 12:55

Flowers for you bath, never underestimate the effect of tiredness & stress on moods - be nice to yourself wherever you can and don't worry about dieting or exercise but know that feeding yourself well will help you greatly and at least not send you into a guilty spiral again. Hope your dd is ok now.
I broke my liquid before lunch rule with a slice of multigrain toast & natural pb as was so very tired and needed something to perk me up. Thankfully I pulled the right frozen block of food from the freezer & had an utterly delicious and incredibly spicy green curry. I was going to blend it into soup but decided to leave it as is with beef chunks, it was soupy enough. Busy afternoon ahead, got to pack later😁 It is a stunner of a day here

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 15/03/2017 17:39

Ah, a mystery package from the freezer. Always interesting. Smile

Bath In addition to Not's comments, please don't underestimate how flat simply being tired makes you feel. I am an extremely positive person, but the only time I feel down is when I am shattered. Teary, flat, deflated. Take care.

Running tonight, usual 10 in total. I've eaten well though today.

B - spinach and mushroom omelette.
L - M&S salad, massive bowl of grapes and berries, 2 chocolates.
D - Will be bolognaise stuffed peppers, salad and halloumi.
S - Eat Natural bar, energy gel, wine.

Not2bObvious · 15/03/2017 18:46

Phew, all packed for my break and now sitting down with a cheeky 🍷In holiday mode, but won't go mad, just a couple of glasses. A pretty good day, I think I'll finish around 1600 - so not v low but I'm not that worried. I was down to 11.8'ish the last 2 days so getting back ontrack.

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 15/03/2017 20:23

Not enjoy your hols
bath hope you feel a bit better now, take care
Need enjoy your ten miles
Daw, Sugar, Loli and all others Missing In Action, hope you're healthy, happy and lighter!

Lolimax · 16/03/2017 07:50

Morning! Only I can bash a bloody kettle bell against my leg and get a great big bruise. Why???? Even the girl next to me heard it crack. Whoops.
Anyway so much for maintaining I'm down to 11.6. Life is pretty shit at the moment. Not only will I be out of a job sometime between June and March, I also have to deliver a plan to SMT as to who else goes. Who needs sleep anyway? DH says I'm working too hard (I've had to cancel leave and I'm in at 7am) but I feel loyal to my team to do the best for them.
Thank the lord or whoever for exercise.
And the good news. Oh. I haven't got any, sorry.

Needastrongone · 16/03/2017 09:04

Ouch Loli. That must have bloody hurt. I am so sorry to hear about the job and the repercussions for your team. Are they reallocating anyone? Can you find other work easily in your field. More weight loss.

It's great that you are viewing exercise as a stress relief though and can use it to your advantage.

Hope you have a super break Not

Ended up with 9 miles.

Not2bObvious · 16/03/2017 10:08

Oh loli, that really sucks. Hardly surprising you're in bad form and bloody ouch with the kb incident - I live in fear of losing control of mine and smacking myself in the face or taking a window out! So finishing somewhere between June 2017 and March 2018 yes? It's a horrible horrible feeling, happened to me a few years ago. I did manage to get another role in the org but I before that I just felt so angry & pissed off. Like I was worthless to the org, of course it's not personal but it feels it. Make sure you eat, the scales continually dropping isn't great if you're not trying to lose.
I'm waiting to leave now, oooh soo excited but a bit nervous too. I haven't been away on my own in a couple of years. Used to go monthly to the UK but since I changed jobs there's no travel. Scales went crazy this am, dh agrees, so I'm back to using an old scale that used to be a pound lighter than the new one. But I'm now going to use it only. So I'm 11.6.8 - feeling good😉
