Get some lemon tea and take it with some psuedoephidrine and paracetamol. Calorie free Grin
plus lemsip is minging

BeyondUnderthinking · 15/02/2017 09:12

Plus I seriously recommend this lemon and ginger twinings tea. I am addicted to it and when i was ill I was drinking about five (big) cups a day

willhazboz · 15/02/2017 09:28

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!
I am also trying to cut out snacking. I have managed 2 nights with nothing after tea. But dh has been working nights so it's easier when he's not eating next to me.
I can seriously make an excuse to eat about anything! My daughter just head butted my nose by accident and I thought (after the bleeding had stopped-I thinks she's broken it) best have a cuppa and a slice of toast! I'll settle for the cuppa.

ponygirlcurtis · 15/02/2017 09:51

Fab stuff Arsey!

Arf at Beyond being the thread giant. I now have images of Madame Maxime from Harry Potter. Or Gandalf with all the hobbits. Grin

Sorry to hear you have had an emotional week Soft. An Indian meal could be OK though - stay away from the naan bread, and stick to something like tandoori chicken, think that's the baked one with no sauce?

TVHubbyClaire · 15/02/2017 10:02

Hi everyone
Looks like a lot of ups and downs over the weekend
I have had hotel breakfasts for last 4 days but did miss lunch and no desserts at dinner, anyone's guess as to what weight will be....

We did manage to get above the 10,000 daily steps and I did a bit of swimming with DC before breakfast and dinner each day but I guess the scales will tell me all I need to know tomorrow.

Going to have a cheap and hopefully healthy next 7 days before away again for one night and a big lunch next Wednesday.

Going back to 16:8 is a challenge today, feeling pretty hungry as my stomach seems to be missing the sausages and eggs, and nibbling on a few grapes to see me through is not wholly satisfying!

Tweetypie30 · 15/02/2017 10:18

Hi Everyone, after joining this thread two weeks ago all thoughts of healthy eating and exercise went out the window as I've been unwell with a chest infection. Finally on the mend so I decided to step on the scales today. I can't believe it but I've actually lost 2.5lbs!!! I really thought I'd gained. I feel so motivated now to crack on and aim for my goal of 7lbs this month.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/02/2017 10:18

I have put ahem some weight on Blush. I have now retrieved my grip from down the sofa cushions and I am back in the room

Well done tweetypie Smile

HairsprayBabe · 15/02/2017 10:22

It is ok Boop let us help you back on the wagon. Flowers

Today is a new day after all.

AugustRose · 15/02/2017 10:24

Ok so luckily I managed to lose 0.5lb this week even though it's not been great, poorly DC and not a lot of sleep at the weekend means I have not eaten well or exercised much.

It's DD1's birthday today to so that meant scoffing tasting left over cake and chocolate buttercream yesterday Blush On the plus side I have been managing to avoid snacking in the evening, I just need the house to warm up now (come on spring!) as I hate starting yoga in a cold room

ArseyTussle · 15/02/2017 10:38

Well done Tweety, August, and TV.

Delivers long distance Full Metal Jacket type speech and slap round the chops to BOOP.

KikisDeliveryService · 15/02/2017 10:41

I know it's only 10.38 but it is also half term and being out of routine makes it all much harder. BUT. So far things are going well after falling off the snack/carb/sugar wagon quite dramatically (I ate a Danish pastry ffs, AND chocolates) yesterday.

I have been for a morning run for first time in ages (my evening running buddy is away). It's a good start. And that's encouraged me to have a sensible yogurt/fruit/nuts breakfast rather than attacking the bread supplies.

I think I've got this. Hoping everyone else has too...

BeyondUnderthinking · 15/02/2017 10:49

Come on BOOP!!!

ArseyTussle · 15/02/2017 10:56

You've got it Kiki, a morning run really helps me feel more motivated and that I'm Trying.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/02/2017 10:57

Thanks you guys!

I am annoyed with myself as I actually got to the gym and realised that I hadn't got my bag with me containing headphones, money for a coffee (I was desperate - been up ages with no drink) and gym pass so I left without even getting out of the car. No time to go now till much later (lifts, hair cuts, work) but I must go. I find it so much easier to stick to the diet when I've worked out.

TweetyPie sorry to hear you have been unwell, but well done on the loss!

I am plodding along with no breakfast today. I'm aiming for a 16:8 type thing so will have lunch literally exactly as the clock strikes 12 after sitting staring at it all morning around noon.

BeyondUnderthinking · 15/02/2017 12:26

Lunch - steamed cod with lea and perrins, bulgar wheat and bean salad, and avocado. Six garlic stuffed olives. can of Diet Coke

BitOutOfPractice · 15/02/2017 12:29

I'm having M&S spicy lentil soup as I'm pushed for time. It's very tasty and super thick. More like a stew. Vair nice

Lunch
200 cals of greek yogurt and blueberries... I am a wild woman Grin

Dinner - fuck knows I want to be in bed! HA

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 15/02/2017 12:56

Yesterday was very very bad. Ahem. There were crisps, hummus, fried bread with pate, lamb shanks, strawberries and cream AND cake. The cake was not even that good, grr! I felt exactly like a python who had swallowed an elephant afterwards.

I WILL get back on the wagon!

KikisDeliveryService · 15/02/2017 13:22

Does anyone have any tips for combatting anxiety/stress? Having had a few blissful weeks of not having to worry about my sick parent, issues are rearing their head again and I feel catapulted into being back on edge. I need better strategies for coping.

HairsprayBabe · 15/02/2017 13:30

Kiki

Stress busting tekkers
Get enough sleep, easier said than done but try to get 7hrs minimum
Do something every day just for you - not food related
Get as much natural light into your home as possible
Try and find a smell that calms you, have access to it at all times, in times of high stress sniff and it should have an instant effect as the olfactory system is so closely linked to our emotions
Exercise as often as you can, preferably outside
Try mindfulness or meditation - there are guided ones available on youtube
If you are so inclined try prayer
Get an "emergency" box ready, facemask, fave CD/film a simple craft you like or a magazine. Stick it all in one place, if SHTF then you know it is there for you to fall back on to just chill for 1/2 an hour.
If possible keep at least one room in your house clean and tidy so you can go in and shut the door on the chaos of the world.
Be kind to yourself when things are hard

Flowers [tea] for you

QuimReaper · 15/02/2017 13:35

Oh Hairspray you've got The Lurg, I'm so sorry! I'm in the snotty phase and DH is 24hrs behind me and is basically a zombie. We went to the theatre last night and I'm pretty sure he had barely the slenderest grasp on what was going on.

Wasn't too bad food-wise: I was shaking and weak so had a big comforting lunch, then pasta for dinner, but didn't go too crazy on the wine and didn't have pudding or anything.

BOOP I HATE it when that happens! I got all the way to the changing rooms a couple of weeks ago before realising I'd forgotten my swimming cossie, I was livid Angry Well done for rediscovering the wagon so quickly though, very impressive! I'm still sort of vaguely wafting around mine, this cold has really thrown me.

Welcome will! Your poor nose, is it any better now? Hopefully not actually broken?!

HairsprayBabe · 15/02/2017 13:44

Yes Quim I thought I may have caught it off you Grin

If I am sore and achy in the morning I am staying in bed tomorrow, I contemplated it today but I have fought on.

I am hoping it puts me off my food for a bit anyway!

KikisDeliveryService · 15/02/2017 14:00

Hairspray Flowersgosh, thank you. I've screenshot your words and am now pondering on smells. I used to do a calming yoga session with a particular oil burning so I should get back on that, along with meditation.

Sorry you're unwell. Hope the snot subsides soon!
