Squiffy cold, hungry and stressed sounds shit. No wonder you dived into the cake and crisps. However don't let that stuff up your weekend - what else works to relieve the stress? How about wrapping yourself up warm and going for a trudge through the countryside - not so fun in pouring rain but uplifting if weather is amenable. Can you talk to your work about your job changes so at least you're clear about what the changes will mean for you? Lastly warm baths, thermals, soup, anything to keep you cosy. If it's your thing can you focus on your well being this weekend? A bit of love and kindness towards yourself, would be nice, lots of non-food rewards?

Archduke · 27/01/2017 20:53

Pony well done on the 7lbs that's awesome. All the better for having gone through months of stalling. Fabulous.

Had an utterly boring day at work yesterday - I'm only doing a few bits and pieces work wise at the moment (long story) so this was my first day back in the office since Xmas. JESUS I'd forgotten how hard it is not to be obsessed with food when at work. I took in everything I'd normally eat in a day but by midday I'd scoffed the lot and was so bored I kept thinking of nipping out to get more. I was so hungry too. Work sucks.

Today am off to Parkrun shortly, legs still sore after my 16km walk so not aiming for a PB this week although will try my hardest. Then I have got myself signed up for a bike ride later before working this afternoon.

Oh also had some lovely NSVs where received compliments - one from a friend who I bumped into in the supermarket last night. I last saw him well before Xmas and he was verrr complimentary on my new foxiness Grin Grin

Squiffy01 · 27/01/2017 21:44

arch generally I have a bagel for breakfast. Some soup for lunch sometimes with toast or rice cakes. Dinner is normally my main meal sooo hungry by then and it's generally a hairy dieters meal. Definitely an apple as a snack somehere sometimes two. I also have a few mouthfuls of the kids dinner which I have got to stop doing! That's one of my points to work on for Feb.

Archduke · 28/01/2017 01:38

PB PB PB PB PB 31.19! Am stoked. Bluddy love Parkrun.

Also been out for a 15km bike ride. I'm a machine.

ponygirlcurtis · 28/01/2017 07:46

Congratulations Arch! That's fantastic. You are indeed a machine, a blinking powerful one!

Squiffy I always get cold when I am tired, which just makes me want to eat and eat. Could tiredness be a factor?

I got a taxi last night. Woops. Suffice to say that I won't be weighing today but I have an unexpected free afternoon so I will be heading out for a big walk.

HairsprayBabe · 28/01/2017 07:59

Well done Arch that is so good!

Squiffy put it behind you, you cant fix what you have already done but that dosn't mean you have to give up entirely. Try to get in nice snacks that aren't too bad for you or off plan and then if you feel the need to gorge aimlessly you can.

11.11 for me this morning slenderistas! That brings me to 10lbs for January! I am shocked tbh as I had some of the slowest losses ever in the 2nd and 3rd week plus I have had a big night out and pizza twice Blush

KikisDeliveryService · 28/01/2017 08:01

Fitness fricking queen arch! Not drinking alongside all the training perhaps is the key. On the back of yours and boop's successes with dry Jan I've committed to no booze myself - now one week in. I think it helped with me actually losing this month, beyond just shedding the Xmas Lindas in the first week anyway.

My methods koko are 1 or 2 fast days (500 calories) per week, the 2nd fast day often ends up more like a low cal day. I skip breakfast 3 days (2 of those are fast days), if I have breakfast I might then skip lunch so. I would say that 4 days a week I have only 2 meals. I avoid eating simple carbs most of the time so no sugar in the week, lots of veg and protein based foods with maybe a tablespoon of brown rice or other high protein grain. If I snack then I eat plain (raw) nuts or a yogurty/smoothie. But I try not to snack.

In reality there will be days where I eat a load of crackers/toast with lashings of butter or cheese but if I do that I will make that my meal rather than in addition to a meal. Thanks to fitting in eating with running or other activities and fasting, the family are used to me cooking differently for them or me not eating at all and I explain why and what not.

ArseyTussle · 28/01/2017 08:06

I HAVE LOST 7.3LB SINCE THE START OF JANUARY!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for shouting. As you were. Nothing to see here.

lastqueenofscotland · 28/01/2017 08:09

Arch and arsey you both nailed it!

I'm off to parkrun in a bit. Then driving all day so trying not to fall foul of car snacks!

ponygirlcurtis · 28/01/2017 08:45

Yaaaay Arsey and Hairspray! Brilliant stuff. Well done. Star

KikisDeliveryService · 28/01/2017 08:47

I've still got time to lose 1 more Linda before the end of Jan Smile. The chance of me ever losing 7lbs in a month again is pretty tiny (not much to lose) so would be nice to do so this time! A small but steady downward trend is all I'm after instead of the small but steady upward trend I've been on for a year or so.

I think that might take me a whole Linda down from my weight when I first started on these threads in October Haha, I'm not very good at this am I? November of 2016 was harrowing for me so it could have been a lot worse I suppose.

KikisDeliveryService · 28/01/2017 08:49

Brilliant work arsey!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/01/2017 08:53

Yay Arsey! Brilliant!

Spuriouser, I'm doing the same plan as you - 2 fast days, 3 days of 3 meals, no snacks, no sweets, no seconds, and relax at weekends. My weekends are Friday and Saturday and I revert to my 3 sensible meals on Sundays.

I'm also Shredding (average 3 times a week), lifting weights (ditto) and going to trampoline classes twice a week. And I'm going to start running, although I don't know when!

I've lost 6lbs since 4 Jan. I am contemplating doing BSD at some point, though!

NSV so far: I am finding it surprisingly easy not to snack! When I do snack/eat sweet things at weekends I can't eat nearly as much and feel stuffed very quickly.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 28/01/2017 08:54

9st10 this morning, so 2lbs down. 4lbs to go to be back at my pre-Christmas weight. Have eaten all the Christmas food and all the biscuits out the cupboard. I'm like he tiger that came to tea!

BitOutOfPractice · 28/01/2017 10:12

Just popped in to say hello while I have done wifi and see that everyone is doing brilliantly! Goals achieved, PBs, the lot

I'm just off to have my body scrubbed and massaged at a traditional Moroccan hammam.

ArseyTussle · 28/01/2017 10:38

Just had an odd moment I'll share with you. I caught my full length reflection in a glass door and instead of getting a wave of self loathing I thought, "yeah, I'm fat, but I'm getting thinner". It was nice.Smile

Mummysh0rtlegs · 28/01/2017 10:42

Nice nsv that! I've put on weight over Christmas but I have to keep reminding myself I still look ok. I caught sight of my legs and realised I'm really ok. I want to be slimmer but I'm ok.

ArseyTussle · 28/01/2017 11:26

I'm not convinced I look slimmer yet, but it was so nice to know I'm doing something about it.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 28/01/2017 11:34

I bet young you do. I think we are often the last to really notice.

teaping · 28/01/2017 12:51

Great losses this morning again ladies, and so impressed with you park runners! I have barely moved this morning apart from to do some housework.

I stayed the same but given I went out for dinner last night and drunk outrageous amounts of wine I am super pleased!

I've just made myself a really naughty brunch of cheesy scrambled egg, grilled pancetta and low carb sausage. But I had a little NSV - I put two sausages on my plate, but instead of my usual stuff-myself-silly-on-auto-pilot-without-paying-any-attention-to-whether-I'm-hungry style, I decided I didnt need the 2nd sausage and I left it! YAY! Sounds silly but I feel like it's a real achievement when something like that happens - shows I am successfully changing my attitude to food and eating.

Out for dinner tonight again, ahhhhhh! But will aim to have steak with a big green salad so hopefully won't be tooooo bad.

ponygirlcurtis · 28/01/2017 18:20

It catches you unawares Arsey, in a good way. In my head I am still very much heavier and I still half believe that it's all an illusion!

Massage sounds just perfect BOOP, enjoy it.

BitOutOfPractice · 28/01/2017 18:35

I actually looked in the mirror today and though "you actually don't look too fat". That's a breakthrough

OP posts:
ArseyTussle · 28/01/2017 19:09

A victory indeed BOOP.

I feel a sense of relief and calmness that I'm actually doing something about my size, and it's working AND I feel confident I can continue. That last bit is really important, I've felt in the past that it was all so perilous and I'd give up at any time.

Archduke · 29/01/2017 06:17

Glad there's lot of positive thinking on this thread.

I think I'll be at 8lb loss for the month.

Roll on February.

lastqueenofscotland · 29/01/2017 09:05

I am trying to persuade myself to go for my long marathon run.

I'm having my wisdom teeth out on Thursday so should end up with a default good start to February as I will hardly be able to eat anything!
