Happy Advent!

Here's the link to the November thread where we cheered each other on to be MoSlender

Now we slide frostily into Christmas with the hope of losing more (or at least not losing our grip completely)

Well I have just weighed and gained a pound! Probably because I have been utterly rubbish.

Back on track today. About to have porridge for breakfast and made a batch of soup yesterday which I will have for lunch. DH is making curry for dinner. His normal one is quite healthy and I will have with cauli rice but he is talking about trying anther recipe. Will have a look to see if it's ok.

Exercise - I went to spinning twice last week but seem to have done something to my leg so giving it a miss today. Planning on sorting out th under stairs cupboard and doing a general house tidy before Xmas tree goes up so hopefully that will help. Less sitting on my backside at least.

Also planning lots of water and green tea and no alcohol.

Beyond - glad you are free. It all sounds quite traumatic! Flowers

BeyondTheHarpy · 05/12/2016 09:21

Technically it was a December birthday, but anyone who has one of these (I do too) will know that xmas pervades the whole month! The only menu option where we went was that of xmas dinner, as it often is up to about mid January!! Grin

I weighed and I have gained a few lbs, but I'm guessing that is probably mostly water from eating more carbs than normal. So will be gradually easing myself back in today, ready for 800's again from tomorrow. After all, I have a bag of schocobons to finish Wink

I have a tree to finish today. Boys have kindly sorted the baubles into colours though, ready for me to do

QuimReaper · 05/12/2016 10:45

Space is the major issue for me with Shredding too. It shakes the whole house, I can't do it in the living room in front of the TV because that room has another flat under it, and it isn't fair to be clumping all over their ceiling. Any other room doesn't have a television in it though, and it does help to be able to see the screen while you're doing it. (I watch it on my laptop, which is fine for the jumping and squatting, but then you have to lie on the floor.)

BitOutOfPractice · 05/12/2016 10:57

I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to do the shred with my dodgy shoulder.

BTW I phoned the hospital for a scan appointment for my shoulder. They have none. No appointments at all to give out. At all. WTAF is that all about?

QuimReaper · 05/12/2016 11:21

BOOP you can adapt it - I go easy on the squatty stuff for my knees, and you can ignore the press-ups with your shoulder and just do something else.

No appointments... what, ever? Shock

BitOutOfPractice · 05/12/2016 11:24

Nope, nothing. Ever. I was gob smacked. They said I needed to have phoned quicker. I said the letter had arrived ten minutes earlier! She said they may have new clinics released this week and they'll ring me. Not looking good is it?

"you can ignore the press-ups with your shoulder and just do something else" - what like? Drink beer? Wink

I also feel like a bit of a weirdo just working out in my living room I did Bender fitness a few times in the summer and just felt really self conscious the whole time even though I was the only one in the house, so I gave it up. How can I get over feeling like such a nob?

Mummyreindeerlegz · 05/12/2016 11:28

Hospitals are so pushed it's beyond a joke. Using theatres for wards, using hca's to do extended roles. They probably have just got to wait until the next set of appointments are released and you've phoned just before that. Happens quite a lot round here. You can't book the appointment you have to wait for them. It's super annoying but you will get one.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/12/2016 11:32

I know mummy I'm not cross with them. Just this bloody government. But anyway, I shall keep ringing. I am in so much pain, even with a morphine patch on

OP posts:
Mummyreindeerlegz · 05/12/2016 11:37

That's not good, do you take naproxen or anything along side it?

BeyondTheHarpy · 05/12/2016 11:55

Are there any other hospitals in the trust that you can get to? My appts have become much easier since I pointed out to them that I can get wherever they want me to (plus half an hours drive is easier than attempting to park at my local anyway!!)

Mummyreindeerlegz · 05/12/2016 11:58

Choose and book should mean you can be seen anywhere. I've been having physio at Oxford and see consultants at the noc and I live in another county.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/12/2016 12:34

Oh I don't know - I shall ask

I am an angel, just made my christmas fudge and didnt eat any!

QuimReaper · 05/12/2016 21:24

Wowzer Hairspray - not even a tiny bit just "to make sure it was OK"? You get a definite Star for that!

I'd like a special prize as well please. I was feeling totally cold and freezing and floppy this afternoon and just wanted to hibernate. I knew I'd feel terrible if I just stayed in though, so eventually dragged myself upright, and decided to just go for a short walk. I took my swimming things just in case, mainly because I'd packed them in an earlier fit of optimism but didn't think I'd end up going.

Well... I did! I did my usual 48 lengths and walked a smidge under 9km, and on a golden fast day an' all! I am vair proud of myself Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 05/12/2016 21:52

Halos all round hairspray and SlimQuim

I've only just finished work and eaten dinner. Off to pick BF up from a works do. It could be messy!

Well done Quim and Hairspray! Both truly angelic.

I've just weighed myself for the first time in ages on my normal scales (they were misbehaving during the last week of November so I gave up somewhat, and this last few days I have been staying with my sister and her strange scales) and I have lost 3.5lbs! Not sure how, because I didn't do anything differently, but I will thank the scale gods and take it. So I am now down 7.5lbs in total since the start of November Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 06/12/2016 07:57

Well done spurious!

You are right. The gods of the scales are a fickle bunch

HairsprayBabe · 06/12/2016 08:19

Thanks for my halo, I shall keep it well polished and not tarnish it with wine or other yummy things!

Nope not even a taste, I have a v helpful DP who did that for me! What a hardship that must have been for him Hmm

12.2 again this morning, bit disappointed as I was so good yesterday, but I often stick the same for a few days and then it falls off in one go, a woosh! I only have 1st to lose before I am a "healthy" weight now (according to BMI) but tbh I am just excited to see 11 something on the scales atm!

We saw DP's brother yesterday, he lives an incredibly glam lifestyle working in graphic design in Cardiff, we last saw him about a month and a half ago, he said to me yesterday "OMG! Where have you gone!?" It is very hard to take a compliment graciously when you just want to do a happy dance!

BeyondTheHarpy · 06/12/2016 08:22

Back on track today :)

Brilliant to see how well you are all doing

Rogeliodelavega · 06/12/2016 23:12

Just weighed in I have lost 3lb since the 1st. Shred is going well

BitOutOfPractice · 06/12/2016 23:37

Hello. Very. Hectic. Day. Started off with a panettone breakfast with clients and sort of rolled downhill from there.

Oh well. Worse things happened at sea.

ponygirlcurtis · 07/12/2016 07:53

Everyone is doing so well, it's great reading about even the smallest of scale (and non-scale) victories.

I am happy to be in a holding pattern for December. I don't expect to lose as I have a lot of eating and drinking nights out coming up. Focusing on not going overboard and keeping the scales where they are.

How are you feeling Beyond?

BeyondTheHarpy · 07/12/2016 07:58

Crap tbh, I have had a headache every day so far. I blamed the lights in hospital but now I'm wondering if I've been left anaemic and should prob see a dr.

On track day yesterday ended in takeaway, so trying again today

Mummyreindeerlegz · 07/12/2016 08:01

Trying again today, here too. I've been dragged into eating festive friends and cheeselets and all sorts of rubbish. Ive got a dreadful cold and may have hand foot and mouth so I'm hoping that'll slow me down. No gym for me though as my chest is bad :-((((
