Lovely to hear from you dawg, I think your average is admirable considering the emotional stress you've been under. V glad you were able to destress with a pal, makes a world of difference talking to a good friend - can lift a weight. I'm glad it's all calmer now & can understand your fear about your counselling sessions. I hope it doesn't make you too guarded and that you regain the trust in the process. As for me doing burpees, I can't really, I do an awkward version! I just cannot get the jump into squat position and have to clamber one leg in at a time & take it from there, but hey I'm giving up my best shot😉 Update from today's class, so a 35 minute class easy? Yeah right, brutal I tell ya! But I did it and I'll be paying for it tomorrow. Weights interspersed with cardio & abs.
Just finished dinner and under 800 cals, room for my fruit pudding...or some crisps. Love the mad yoke comment to need, a perfect Irish complement if ever there was one! And we Irish are obsessed with drying so now I'm agog as to how you managed 6 loads lol! You must have one of them eastenders laundrettes in your basement😁

Daw. I'm glad to hear from you too. What a week or so that you have had. I find emotional stuff extremely tiring, exhausting actually. Draining. I'm glad that you have made progress with DH, even if that has been emotional at times. I'm glad that you have had the opportunity to talk outside of the two of you to special friends.

Ha Not, but you did the class right? Therefore well done you! Good combination of exercise, covers all bases!

I have done a wonderful easy hours run tonight, before I cracked on with tea. Very easy pace. Also walked the dogs for 4 miles.

In addition I ate (after my run) a small chunk of cheese, small handful of cashews, lots of cherry tomatoes and almost a whole cucumber.

It's the exercise calories that are making the deficit, I'm getting to circa 1900 calories a day, then the exercise in addition.

The JO sausage stew is actually very healthy, just waiting for the rice to cook but it has a red, yellow and green pepper, tomatoes, celery, onion, garlic and chilli in. The sausages were fried in their own oil and the excess tipped out, before frying the veggies in the excess oil left.

JontyDoggle37 · 23/01/2017 19:30

Daw glad to see you back and that there may be some improvements starting
Need nice to find another horsey person on here - my boy is 18 years and 17hh, a Dutch Warmblood. He's never progressed past the mental age of 3....
Not keep going, you WILL get in that dress
Bath agree totally, sometimes you just really need a good chinwag with friends to put the world right

I've just sat and put today's calories in, 2200, which is not good. Been off sick today, up most of last night coughing, and GP has given me antibiotics this morning for strep throat. Have spent a bit of time this afternoon getting recommendations for a childminder too, thinking of taking DS out of nursery and into a childminder setting with less other kids to catch germs from and a bit more individual attention. He is finally looking a lot better today and smiling and laughing a lot more. Thank you everyone for well wishes, I'm normally a very upbeat person, but feeling a bit beaten down with all this at the moment, so your cheery posts are much appreciated.

Lolimax · 23/01/2017 21:40

Yeah Dawg is back! I missed your wise words and lovely updates.
Jonty that might be a good idea about your little one. They catch every bug going in nursery. Are there any good CM's available near you?
Need every time you mention running I look at your posts in awe!
Not that class sounds good. The ache will be worth it!
Latino tonight and she did circuits for toning after. It was brilliant. And even better DH is on nights so bed to myself (well, me 2 dogs and a bad tempered moggy!).

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2017 06:27

Hope you had a nice sleep loli, sounds like there wouldn't have been room for dh with the pets😉 I am awake from just after 4... and I'm up the last 1.5 hours cooking meatloaf. A bit sore but not too bad. It's going to be another lonnng day. Still no weigh in done here as I woke quite thirsty & guzzled water, now on the coffee in the hope it gets me through the morning.
Menu for the day:
B:poached egg on toast with tomatoes (does a great job of keeping me going)
L:wheaten bread with tuna mayo/rocket/tomato
D:Hairy biker meatloaf with spicy tomato sauce & mashed potatoes, garden peas
I think that's around 1000 cals so wriggle room in there for some crackers & cheese maybe instead of crisps. I'll see can I get a gentle jog or brisk walk in to maintain my exercise promise of 30-45 mins a day. Anyone else up?

OP posts:
Lolimax · 24/01/2017 07:28

Up and in work as I get up extra early to let him get more sleep. Love your food for today Not I need to get that Hairy Bikers book.
Scales now definitely say 11.11 so I'm a happy bunny. I had the day from hell yesterday people doing as they please so I need to don my evil managers hat on today which isn't me.
But tea needed first!

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2017 08:23

Oh well done loli you're getting away from the 12's very swiftly! I've a pita day ahead too, ugh

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 24/01/2017 08:49

Well I lost the run of myself yesterday- work provided a buffet lunch and I had a bit of everything . At least 2500calories. Tiredness is a serious trigger for me. DH sent me to spare room last night so I got an uninterrupted nights sleep and I feel so much better now. So back on track now.

Needastrongone · 24/01/2017 08:58

Ah bless you Not, you are going to have a very long day! Your menu plan sounds absolutely lovely. I must dig out the HB recipe book, haven't looked at it for ages. Good that you don't ache too much. I had a chicken cooking in the over at 7.20 am. Smile

Well done on the loss Loli and hope today is a better day Sugar.

My day off today. I've walked the dogs on a freezing crisp morning and am looking forward to their afternoon walk, it's so lovely out there. I'm going to do a class, then meet my friend for a 5 miles run. Then chores, as per usual on my day off, like most of us. Smile

Needastrongone · 24/01/2017 09:12

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2017 10:15

JontyDoggle37 · 24/01/2017 14:59

loli best of luck with the evil managers hat and well done on the definite loss
Not hope the coffee is working and you're still awake
need it is a beautiful day out, going to head out myself with boy and dog soon for a gentle walk
I got back on the scales morning, sitting at 10st 8.5 - I thought it would be higher so that's ok. Menu today is bringing me in at only around 1,000, and I've crammed in every kind of superfood I have available to give my immune system a boost:
B: porridge with blueberries, coffee
L: home made Thai chicken noodle soup (very tasty and filling and only about 240 calories if anyone wants the recipe, I make it in batches and freeze the leftovers in portion sizes for work)
D: Filipino Beef Adobo with rice in the slow cooker (recipe is here: www.bbcgoodfood.com/user/4184401/recipe/slow-cooker-adobo-chicken, I've put 750g stewing steak in place of the chicken).

Needastrongone · 24/01/2017 16:09

I like the sound of the Beef Adobo Jonty, and very simple too. I think it's great we are sharing recipes, giving me loads of ideas and inspiration and somehow keeping me into the healthy eating.

I've done my class, had my run, walked my dogs (wonderful day for that) and have clocked up over 30k steps, so had a snack or two to keep the munchies at bay.

Breakfast - egg on toast with avocado (as was exercising most of morning).
Lunch - couscous salad, greek yoghurt and blueberries.
Dinner - chicken fajitas (warm baguettes instead of wraps, for a change).
Snacks - banana, graze box. Glass of wine later while watching silent witness with the DC.

Needastrongone · 24/01/2017 16:10

Hope Sesame is okay?

Bathsheba3 · 24/01/2017 16:37

Everyone's positivity, menu planning and exercise is rubbing off - hurray !

Food - Only all bran & Mango so far today, with chilli & rice for dinner
Exercise - I went out for a run!! 30 mins so that's about 5km, non stop.
Work - 3 of my clients v happy with me today Star
Family - parents evening last night - all amazing
Relationships - I managed to laugh at something DH did rather than let it annoy me
Chores - My downfall, I've done none yet today, breakfast stuff still in sink, but about to get stuck in
Treats - sofa, wine & silent witness, same as need
More Treats - think I will splash out on those cookbooks you all keep on mentioning
Weight Loss - no idea, will weigh in on Friday. Even 1lb to 11 5 will be amazing wishful thinking

Thank you all! Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 24/01/2017 17:03

Bath I ordered two new cookbooks last night - inspired by watching a TV series last night with Ken Hom and another woman on an amazing tour of the rural provinces of China. There's a cookbook that goes with it, so I ordered that, and also another one caught my eye by the Michelin star chef Tom Kerridge - he's lost 11 stone in two years and wrote a book about how he did it, so I'm hoping its gorgeous tasting low calorie food! I'll let you all know what they're like when they arrive Smile

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2017 17:08

Yes pls to the soup recipe jonty, I'm loving your menu.
I'm fading...not a snowballs chance in hell of a run, my pelvis is aching now. Had bad spd in both pregnancies and I get the odd twinge even now. I'm a bit hungry now but I'm holding off and drinking water (nods to need)
I'd better face up to the scales tomorrow, can't avoid it any longer. Bah!

JontyDoggle37 · 24/01/2017 18:00

Not (and anyone else) here's my recipe for the Thai chicken noodle soup:
Ingredients are:
One onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 bird eye chilli, chopped (or a milder one if you don't like much heat)
Thumb sized piece of ginger, chopped
1 tsp fish sauce
3 tsps soy sauce
1 chicken stock cube, made up to about 1.5 pints with water
1 large chicken breast, cut into bite-size cubes
A couple of handfuls of whatever greens you have: kale, spinach, I there some sugar snap peas in today.
1 section of Sharwoods Medium egg noodles.
Method:
Put the onion in a big saucepan with a tablespoon of groundnut/vegetable oil and cook gently until soft, then add the garlic, ginger and chilli. Cook them for 2-3 minutes, then add the soy and fish sauce, and pour in all the hot stock. Bring it up to the boil and put all the chicken in, dinner it for about five minutes then add the noodles and the greens. Cook for another four minutes, serve immediately. I can normally get about three portions out of that for a lunch, or maybe two for a really filling dinner. Enjoy!

JontyDoggle37 · 24/01/2017 19:01

Quick follow up note to earlier meal plan: the Beef Adobo was weird, and in a slightly unpleasant way. Not one I'll be making again!

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2017 19:34

Was it the apple cider vinegar I wonder jonty? Loving the soup recipe, I'm looking forward to giving that a go - sounds so fresh. Kitchen closed at 1350

Did somebody say sesame....? Thanks need Grin

Sorry, I've been a bad bad girl, I'm really behind in catching up with the thread and I have no clue how much I weigh. I've been busy at work and enjoying my birthday weekend with some moderate over indulgence. Yet I'm still logging every day. 288 days in in fact! Halo

Did anyone spot the man on how to eat well for less tonight - 5ft4 and weighed over 19st? I worked out that's 2 of the current me! Shock

Sorry again for the lack of personals. I'm still cheering everyone along. And sending Flowers to those having hard times like daw.

Oh btw, upping my milage on the runs has resulted in sore knees. What's best to do now? Scale back the milage? Avoid anything hilly? Is strengthening the only answer? [sigh]

Not2bObvious · 25/01/2017 06:04

Hi sesame, hope you had a wonderful birthday! I watched that as well last night, but kept dozing so didn't get the full story. I was gutted as I love those programs, what with being a keen fat fighter.
Got til 5am this morning & an early night last night so feeling much better. The scales is showing 11.4.8, down from 11.6 last Friday but I'm not taking that as gospel, as last Wednesday I was 11.5.2 and then up to 11.6 for Friday despite being v well behaved. So far my losses in Jan, if you'll let me bore you:
Week 1 - 11.8.6
Week 2 - 11.6.4
Week 3 - 11.6
Food plan same as yesterday except I'm make a pizza with a Mediterranean wrap for my dinner. What's everyone else having?

JontyDoggle37 · 25/01/2017 06:15

Morning
Sesame well done on continuing to track, just doing that stops you splurging too much I think
Not well done on another loss, sure it will be real!
Scales have gone down for me this morning. For a second it looked like I might have lost a whole pound, then they flicked back up again at the last minute to show a 0.25lb loss lol! Oh well, at least it's a downward move 😁
Food today is:
B: egg and avocado on toast
L: Thai chicken noodle soup
D: chicken and Chorizo paella
First day back at work today after being ill, hopefully I can get my head back in the game quickly!

Not2bObvious · 25/01/2017 06:22

Thanks great jonty! Pity it wasn't the full pound today but in the next couple of days I'm sure you'll shift the other .75. When my scales jumps around like that I like to think it's rounding up😉 Hope you're well enough for work, take it easy, strep throat is no joke - is it much improved? How's the little fella now?
I'm planning to do a weights class tonight, all going well. Shoulders quite achey but you have to push on I find. In fact, I'm going to book it now & think no more.
