Hi all, mind if I join in? im 13st dead today and would like to lose as much as possible before the end of the month, but 7lbs is a good start!
I have been on the BSD since mid august and have lost 2st 3lbs so far! Things are starting to slow down so I think I need to start some exercise which is unfortunate as I hate it!

Any tips/ideas for someone who really really hates exercise? I don't mind classes but I am too chicken to go to one alone!

LizardBreath · 01/11/2016 09:46

Can I join please? Am 11stone at mo, 10.2 is normal weight and 9.9 'ideal' weight. Half a stone would be ace this month! Plan to up exercise and cut down on snacks/late night carbs.

Didn't have trick or treaters last night so loads of celebrations knocking around. 'Luckily' most of the good ones are gone though!!

Welcome to all you lovely new faces! Grin

I probably will go swimming BOOP - if I have a golden day, a walk and a swim, and then have a bit of wine and some leftover Trick or Treat chocs this evening if I really feel like it, maybe that's a good compromise?

Hello Hairspray and Lizard!

Walking is really good hairspray - put on some earphones and listen to music or a podcast and walk fast. Once I'd got into the habit of doing that I got into couch to 5k...

Lizard similar weight ideals here. I try to avoid food after dinner now in a 'kitchen is closed' type way. Don't eat the sweets!

Right I did a cardio pump dvd thing, did my physio and even the horrible leg massage business which hurts like hell, but is better than the long term soreness (trying to convince myself here, ugh). I am going to do my roots, have breakfast then go off for a long walk with a podcast.

quim you are making me really miss swimming! My gym's pool is closed for renovation at the moment but once it's open I'll get back to doing a morning a week at the gym: 40mins on machines, physio, weights, then a swim (then steam and sauna). Glorious.

Kiki you're a whirlwind of activity!

I've been trying dresses on for my do tomorrow and thinking "ugh" to all of them.

I'd love to join this thread. I need motivation and this sounds great!
BTW, I thought Mo was short for Maureen!

Report
normage · 01/11/2016 10:26

I don't weigh myself and don't have a particular weight in mind. But I do have clothes I want to wear again. Hardly anything fits me right now and I can't afford and don't really want to buy any more clothes. So, that's what I'm aiming at.
Feel motivated by all the posts about exercise!

I am DEFINITELY on board with this. None of my jeans do up!!! Will weigh self later when I find the scales!

More newbs! Hello, come and join us Smile

LOL at Maureen - maybe she's a fit slender lass we should aspire to!

Getting into favourite clothes is an excellent gauge normage. I am slightly traumatised at losing some of my favourites to weight gain and I do want to be back in them. Mumbo I feel your pain, jeans are very judgemental.

boop Oh no! I hope something reveals itself.

Checking in for November after a completely rubbish October, which ended with a net gain of 2lbs! Did I mention I'd been rubbish??

Glad to see lots of lovely losses tho.

So my starting point is 11,8.

Nice to see you Rshard you went awful quiet there!

Kiki getting into old clothes is my priority too. Thinking about it, I have this beautiful plain black dress which I last wore back in 2014; it started straining at the waist buttons at some point after that so I put it away, but I must dig it out this weekend and see if I've made any progress, I should be back into it by now Smile

QuimReaper · 01/11/2016 10:57

Oh God, I've just checked and it was actually only February 2015 I wore it last. (I happen to remember the event I wore it to, in case you're wondering if I have some kind of weird clothing diary Grin ). I always say the weight crept up since 2012-2013, but I must have gained such a massive fuckton of it in 2015 Shock

I am getting to that really annoying point where I am too fat for my old thin clothes and my fat clothes are looking too baggy on me! Belts are my friend atm I think!

I like the idea of HIIT so I don't have to spend forever doing exercise 15 mins twice a day sounds good, so I might get a video online or something.

I go climbing once a week as well, only started very recently it doesn't feel like exercise at the time which is why I think I enjoy it!

Another newbie wanting to join the ever-shrinking-gang.

I've realised that after 30 years of trying to manage my mood with chocolate that it hasn't worked very well.

I'm 5'4" and 14.6lb. So, according to BMI, am 5 stone overweight. But, BMI is a crock of shit.

So, I'd like to get down to a size 14, lower my blood pressure, be able to do a press up and enjoy exercise so I'm a good example to my kids, and then, hopefully, they'll not follow my stupid pattern of inactivity.

I joined a gym about a month ago - and, am actually beginning to enjoy it. Also, I have a little bicep beginning to appear out of the fat.

I'm doing HIIT on the elliptical thing at the gym, a bunch of weights and body weight resistance stuff and have a gym review on Saturday where I'll find out if I'vd dropped any lard. Scales haven't moved a single pound at home, but, I am changing shape. Weird.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/11/2016 11:46

stealth that sounds like good progress to me. I only do cardio stuff at the gym because the weights and stuff scare the bejeesuz out of me (I know, I know). I have decided that once I get back to a reasonable size I will go back to BodyPump

"I've realised that after 30 years of trying to manage my mood with chocolate that it hasn't worked very well."

Well, you gave it a reasonable chance I guess! Grin

I'm in. I need some support and having others around helps. Good timing as lunch is approaching and I have been sensible until now.

Put about 2 of the 3 stone I originally lost back on. Totally annoyed with myself. 7 pounds seems possible and realistic so thanks :)

Having just stuffed about 10 roses chocolates down my neck (had only intended on having 1) i think i should probably join. starting weight 10st 13.

Have tried all manner of stuff but inly manage to stick at any diet for about 24 hours before declaring it all too miserable. so have now started the easyloss virtual gastric band, which withe the exception of the roses incident appears to be successful in curbing my portion size and snacking. We shall see Confused.

That's the problem wity small sweets, how can one make any difference?

And just more more?

And the wrapper's coming off this one...

One more for the road.

OK two.

At least they are entirely calorie free at Christmas.

Food plans for today.

Erk, I already had a couple of chocolate brioches for breakfast 😑

Waiting for an online shop to be delivered, so there's no food in the house.

Except leftover Hallowe'en treats.

Hmmm.

I'm at a training course tonight, so will eat some kind of ready meal on my return later on.

That should be low enough in cals.

so far today ......

Breakfast was muesli (smaller bowl than I would normally have) and have been for a 40 minute walk. Have a friend coming round this afternoion but she'd on a diet so nothing to worry about there.

Am fed up of drinking tea, but can manage not to have sugar in it, whereas I HAVE to have 2 spoonfulls in coffee.
