The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

Good morning, chrispenrallt :)

Impressed at your getting up in the dark to run.

Good for you! I have to replace some runs with HIIT now that we've so much more dsrkness.

Hi everyone! I went to visit my parents, so did not have a good weekend. But I'm OK with that.

I'll just try to make up.for it in the week.

chrispenrallt1 · 17/10/2016 08:04

Yes I think I will have to see about the gym and exercise, but I enjoy the running and so does the dog!

plumstone · 17/10/2016 09:29

Morning all, thought the weekend was OK - however my "damage limitation" weigh in this morning had me back at 10"13 a gain of 3lbs in 2 days - this is sooooooooooooooooo bloody frustrating

However today is a new week, and strictly carb free in preparation for bootcamp which starts next Monday - it can only go downwards!!!!!!

Have a good day everyone! xoxo

KikisDeliveryService · 17/10/2016 09:55

Hello, can I join you all? Fed up with increasing rolls of jiggle thanks to having a stinking cold for ages which means no exercise and somehow means an increase in baked goods.

Day 1 of NO SUGAR and NO WHITE FLOUR.

DoinItFine · 17/10/2016 11:41

Welcome, Kiki.

No sugar and no white flour sounds very tough.

KikisDeliveryService · 17/10/2016 13:48

Thanks Doin, I regularly cut them out when my sugar addiction gets too much to deal with and I need to reset so not too bad as I'm used to the trauma!

Bunnyjo · 17/10/2016 13:58

BOOP, nothing is TMI. You're the only people who know my actual weight, apart from my mum, as I'm just too embarrassed to say it in RL.

chrispenrallt1, well done on the morning run and congratulations on your huge weight loss!

I've been for a 5 mile walk today - the knee injury is preventing me from doing c25k and I am sick of the side-effects of codeine - but, so long as I can keep the calories low and some physical activity going, the scales should keep going in the right direction.

Doing and plum, hope the weekend damage is quickly overturned and welcome to kiki.

chrispenrallt1 · 17/10/2016 17:31

Thanks bunny Jo it's much harder now to get off, but I'm trying hard. I really enjoy my early morning runs and now it's getting darker in the morning I will have to rethink it. I like to go when there is no one around, think is because I think folk will be amused to see me running. I told this to my daughter who is into life coaching and she told me not to be ridiculous. We had a good conversation about it so I'm going to try to go around 7.30 am when there are more folks about and hopefully I won't feel self conscious whilst I'm out.

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 17/10/2016 18:30

Oh everyone seems to be getting on so well with losses. I am a disaster - hubby took me for a surprise afternoon tea at weekend soppy romantic git so of course i indulged gorged myself in cakes. Ugh and they say fat people are supposed to be jolly!

QuimReaper · 17/10/2016 18:45

Good morrow losers!

I DIIIIIID IIIIIIIIT! I swam 48 lengths, that's a mile!

I've been RUBBISH this month, and barely done any swimming, so feeling much more positive with myself today Grin

KikisDeliveryService · 17/10/2016 18:47

waves Hope everyone's had a successful Monday. I have achieved day 1 of no refined sugar, no white carbs. Kitchen is now closed and I have a class this evening so no time to fall off the wagon.

Bit of background: I lost around 5 stone a few years ago by taking better care of myself - eating healthily and getting fit. Maintained that weight well but it's been creeping up and I'm now a stone over my happy weight (and 1.5 stones over my lowest weight). I need to put a stop to the slip sliding into weight gain which I suspect is to do with being injured on and off this year, and my sugar habits had got out of control. Bad combo.

So aims are to get back to eating sensibly more often, and gradually step my exercise levels back up.

ChickenVindaloo · 17/10/2016 18:57

As of this morning I have gone UP 2lbs to mean net effect of October so far is 1lb ON! WTAF?! (I was down 4lbs last week!) But then I, ahem, felt the effect of the recent upping of fruit and veg...
I'm confident of a good result if I weight tomorrow am.
Dieting does make one obsessed with one's bowels!
I'm also expecting Aunt Flo.

ChickenVindaloo · 17/10/2016 19:00

I've lost 6lbs in the last 6 weeks so at that rate I will still be down 4 stone by this time next year. Which would be an ideal weight for me - 9stone.

It is an absolute bugger though having to go past all the christmas chocs and cakes already in store!!

QuimReaper · 17/10/2016 19:08

Well done Kiki and Chicken it sounds like you're doing really well! Chicken, fluctuations are so annoying but it's important to brush them off.

A couple of weeks ago I weighed in thinking I'd been really good and saw a gain, so threw all my toys out the pram and stuffed my face Blush

Which, well, didn't help matters.

QuimReaper · 17/10/2016 19:12

Preach on the bowel stuff too Grin

chrispenrallt1 · 18/10/2016 07:09

Well done chicken vindaloo. You are so right about the chicks and goodies. I can't have chocolate in the house really I just can't. Thank god we are going to sister in laws for Christmas dinner and then on holiday shortly after so I won't be stockpiling too much chocolate and crap this year. I'm ok until the box or tin is undone, then it's open season !

KikisDeliveryService · 18/10/2016 12:59

Chicken Aunt flo brings with it a depressing amount of water retention so short term weight increase, but, hopefully, it'll all go, and more afterwards.

Wise move chrispen I always do start out quite well at Christmas but it is always a foodfest in the end. Certainly by that bit between xmas and new year there is rarely a moment where I am not at least 99% stuffed at all times.

God how I love that time.

However, day 2 of self-imposed no refined carbs going well so far. Forgot to weigh in but feel less gross already so spurred on by that. Had mega sugar craving yesterday eve but got through it with an apple and satsumas.

Craved bread for lunch but went for a more satisfying heating up of tasty leftovers instead. My issues with bread are that I will not stop at a sensible amount and will eat it with lashings of butter. I can cope with blanket exclusions of food groups better than trying to be moderate.

KiteyDelighty · 18/10/2016 15:02

2.4 lb off since I last posted which brings me almost back to where I started at the beginning of October but I am due on any day soon, so hope it will improve!

ChickenVindaloo · 18/10/2016 15:18

I was back down a pound this am.
Good luck everyone else!

plumstone · 18/10/2016 16:16

Cheeky fast day here - anything for a mid week loss!!!!

Wiggleyfingers · 18/10/2016 19:16

Kiki I am very impressed with your restrictions! Maybe I should try something similar...

Yesterday was a good day and I was feeling so positive! Came in at around 1300 calories but today is a different story. Note to self: once fallen off the wagon, do not follow up by throwing self in front of it. Started badly with a costa latte and pastry...then things wildly escalated.

Ah well, onwards and upwards. Confused

BitOutOfPractice · 18/10/2016 19:49

Hello all. It's been a looooong day of driving but I've managed to stick to just coffees at the services. Come home to a maelstrom of teenage woes (nothing serious just a whole load of "mom mom mom...") so I'm glad I have some calories left for a glass of wine. I feel frazzled.

BitOutOfPractice · 18/10/2016 20:18

It didn't work. Since my last post dd1 has gone to tell me how amazing the moon looks, and dd2 to tell me about her history essay

BitOutOfPractice · 18/10/2016 20:28

Dd1 needs a form filled out. Dd2 needs PE kit washed for tomorrow. Anyone else feel like this sometimes?

Oh yes ! Glugging vodka as we speak ( with lime and soda for low cal loveliness )
