The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

Quim that sounds like a great weekend. And I bet you looked great in your dress

Isn't the weather gorgeous? Well it is here anyway. Just stomped round the fields for a bit

Wine and pizza tastes a lot nicer though!

That first-week thing happened again - I'm down six pounds since the first of the month. If previous months are anything to go by, I have about a week before the chocolate gets the better of me. On the plus side, this monthly yoyoing is gradually shrinking me.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 10/10/2016 12:35

It would be one surefire way to look like a supermodel I suppose!

QuimReaper · 10/10/2016 12:47

Y'know, the dress was actually hanging off me, having been ordered almost a year ago! Grin

It's a stunning day here too. Feels like the first day of Autumn.

DoinItFine · 10/10/2016 15:41

Gorgeous day here too. Warm for October at around 13C.

I love that this thread now includes discussion of cocaine being good for weight loss Grin.

Shouldn't be surprised after 11,000 calorie day.

I had a pretty good weekend. Was drinking, though, so that will have brought up my calories.

It's a great feeling when clothes are falling off you that once fit well. Or were too tight, even.

I'm not good at letting go of them. Just in case.

Which is probably not the spirit.

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2016 21:34

Oooo! My ring is lose! (No tittering and the back!)

Just back from the gym. I've started the follow on from c25k which is supposed to make you run faster. Blimey my legs were like jelly when I got off the treadmill.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

What a lovely feeling Quim, to know all your hard work paid off - nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable all day in a dress. Smile

Not sure I am doing that well this month. If I stay where I am this week, that will do me!

plumstone · 11/10/2016 08:36

Morning all - yesterday was good - Monday is always a bit dodgy as I am out most Mondays - and there is wine, and crisps etc - however last night was cancelled so I am on track for the rest of the week.

On holiday for a week from the 21st so really want to see 10'7 on the scales that morning - holiday should not be too bad - staying with DF who loves a bit of a diet challenge - he is a ridiculously healthy eater and believes in the whole "eat for fuel" mantra - I put it down to being a war baby!!!! Anywho bless him he is totes supportive of my weight issues and caters accordingly.

Walking is going well and am averaging 12k steps a day over the last week - just need to keep it up

Have a great day everyone!

DoinItFine · 11/10/2016 09:29

Aww, so many lovely Dads on this thread.

My own DDad is really sick at the moment, so it makes me smile and cry at the same time. ☺😢

I had a pretty good day yesterday too. Made mackerel teryaki (ish) for dinner. Was really tasty and super easy. Kids wouldn't eat it, but DH and I liked it.

DoinItFine · 11/10/2016 09:30

That emoji didn't look like snorting water out my nose when I posted it 😂

BitOutOfPractice · 11/10/2016 10:55

Oh Doin I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. Sending him very strong get well vibes Thanks

55I'm still doing OK, despite wine on a school night last night. I have no food plans for today though and that makes me a bit panicky!

DoinItFine · 11/10/2016 15:46

Thanks, Bit :)

I know what you mean about food plans. I am fine as long as I have a plan to stick to.

QuimReaper · 11/10/2016 16:15

RIGHT.

Yesterday went to pot completely: I had a sore throat and was feeling rubbish and pre-coldy, so I made it to the swimming pool but just carried on past Blush Came home and had a not-terrible dinner... and Minstrels.

Feeling somewhat better today so I'm going to bladdy well get myself out there, then come back and eat a haddock fillet and veg.

Yes I am yes I am!

QuimReaper · 11/10/2016 16:17

I tried on a dress in Oasis this afternoon and my spare tyre was definitely in evidence to spur me on Sad

Helloheyhi · 11/10/2016 16:57

Sorry to hear your dad isn't doing too well DIT. If you want to talk about anything, we are here for you x

Quim do take care of yourself!

Sorry haven't been active here and haven't caught up with all the posts yet. Just busy preparing for an exam so weight loss has taken a back seat, no idea whether am losing or not. At a guess probably gaining as I have been eating lots of crap lately!

Stellar67 · 11/10/2016 17:19

Sorry to hear about your dad doin.
Quim take care. Lots of liquids and rest.

I have discovered orzo. Tiny pasta, very filling. Had some with roast veg and chicken for dinner.

I'm getting quite into this. Don't post a lot but I read the thread.

QuimReaper · 11/10/2016 21:48

I've got the right moody blues this evening. I don't seem to be having much luck with this beastly month.

Made it to the pool but only managed 30 lengths since I got a persistent cramp in my right foot.

Going out for a posh lunch with DH tomorrow and all of my nice clothes are being held hostage by the building works.

I have a couple of old dresses here and just tried on a lovely red one. It barely did up and looked hideous Sad I remember wearing it to a wedding 3 years ago and I'm pretty sure it was a "fat dress" back then!

I can't weigh heaps more than I did then, maybe 5lbs at the absolute most (more likely 4) but it's like my body's just holding on to it around my hips and tummy which is such a pain in the jacksie. I guess that expression "a moment on the lips..." is more true than I realised.

Waaaa!

QuimReaper · 11/10/2016 21:49

Careful with yer loose ring BOOP, sounds messy Shock Wink

ChickenVindaloo · 11/10/2016 21:53

I've only lost 2lbs so far this month.
BUT I haven't binged for about 6 weeks.
And am still 1.5 stone down from this time last year so overall going well.
Keep going, all you other losers!

ChickenVindaloo · 11/10/2016 21:55

Went to lidl today and stocked up on lean meat, fish, fruit and veg so hoping for a good week ahead.

MsMermaid · 11/10/2016 22:27

I've got a loose ring too BOOP. It feels very strange to have lost weight on my fingers. My shoes are looser too. So my belly is still massive but my hands and feet are slimmer Hmm

I'm having a fairly good week so far. I shall gloss over my dinner of chocolate croissants and crisps, the rest of the week has been pretty good. I have reached my step target of 10,000 steps today after only doing 3,000 yesterday

Msqueen33 · 12/10/2016 03:52

I'm joining mid way through October as I've finally had enough. I put on a stone over summer and need to lose at least two stone now. Somehow raising three kids (two of whom have autism) means I spend a lot of time eating chocolate which I must give up. Dieting sucks and I suspect I will be on a diet for most of my life.

BrainPrions · 12/10/2016 04:05

Ooh, I didn't know a weight loss thread existed! Awesome. I am trying to lose weight too so I look good in the holiday card photo

I've lost about 3lbs this month. Doing cardio and strength training to build muscle.

Starting weight: 12St, 12lbs
Goal weight: 10St (or as close as I can get)

Any suggestions on how to get stubborn tummy fat? I have a little tummy pooch from DD that's being stubborn.

Howlongtillbedtime · 12/10/2016 07:12

Morning all , weigh in day for me today . I have only lost a pound which is a bit rubbish so I need to buck up this week .

I keep cheating and having "just the one " biscuit , handful of nuts , beer Blush

So my first aim is to log everything and be honest and my second is to walk more . I do at least 10000 steps a day but i am going to aim for 15000 this week

Good luck all .

DoinItFine · 12/10/2016 07:29

Any suggestions on how to get stubborn tummy fat?

I have no idea, but the Internet is always trying to sell me the secret. Grin

Maybe we should club together and find out? Wink

Thank you all for your kind wishes :) He has stomach cancer and is struggling to eat and maintain weight, so weirdly close to subject matter of the thread. I wish he had his big belly back :(

Anyway, I had another barely eating Tuesday. It's like an accidental fast day, except I crack around 6pm and eat crisps Grin

Inspired by BOOP I have started a training programme to decrease my 10K time. Have no idea what I'm doing. Probably need a running watch so I can estimate my pace.

I did a mile rep run yesterday. Today I feel like I was drinking last night. Guess I didn't rehydrate yesterday.

I was at a networking event last night and didn't have any pizza. I've started eating before I head out to things like that. A tummy full of salmon and rice definitely helps with resistance.
