The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

Sandy you're in the right place if you're looking for a friendly bunch who chat about weight loss and food and general stuff and who will applaud your successes and not judge your slip ups. Every person here knows how hard it is. So you are very welcome Flowers

Imnot that's brilliant! Well done you

I have stopped sulking with my mean scales and had a decent day. I'm under target for calories, I ran for 25 minutes and I got out in the fresh air too.

Now I'm in my PJs on the sofa ready to perv over Gillian Andersson watch The Fall (and no I'm not gay but I fancy her something rotten)

I'm all about Jamie Dornan BOOP no matter how despicable he is. I can even forgive him 50 shades now he's got his beard back

2 and a half off! Very happy!

MsHeffalump · 07/10/2016 00:01

I've spent the evening telling myself that I won't have all the some biscuits, because 16:8 means it's too late in the evening. It's working so far, so I am feeling very virtuous. I did find a 100g white toblerone in the back of the cupboard at 6.45pm, which wasn't too late, but was delicious. Having had that sugar would normally leave me powerless in the face of the biscuits, so feeling extra proud!

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/10/2016 07:07

Good morning all . how do you all stop yourself weighing every day ? I would love to be all cool about it and just check once a week but I find myself on the scales every morning .

And 16:8 ? Is that as simple as it sounds ? You can have what you want but just for 8 hrs a day ?

Cheesetoastieyum · 07/10/2016 07:16

Hi everyone - some amazing losses this week well done! Only 1lb down for me. a bit annoyed with myself for snacking too much but relieved it is still a loss. 2 running sessions done this week and a Parkrun and 8k on Sunday coming up to help with my metabolism. I need to repeat as I run "I will not eat exercise calories, I will not eat exercise calories"...

Bunnyjo · 07/10/2016 07:27

Weighed myself this morning - 13st 2.5lb. That is a total weight loss of 19.5lb since I started (end Aug) and 3lb for this week/October loss.

DoinItFine · 07/10/2016 07:59

Jeepers, Bunny, nearly a stone and a half in just over a month.

That is amazing :)

I had a good day yesterday, including a long run. I am so fit at running st the moment. It feels great.

Now that it's getting darker earlier I won't be able to keep that up. I could barely see where I was running by the end of last night's run and had tonturn back ealrier than I wanted due to encroaching darkness.

leesmum - good luck with your virtuous weekend.

I never give up all treats. I just reduce them and space them out. I am also drinking again after my soberish September. Won't be a very boozy weekend, but will have something.

NightWanderer · 07/10/2016 08:12

I've started running in the dark. I am actually quite scared of the dark but I'm too embarrassed to run in daylight. I ran 4km yesterday. I'm determined to lose weight this time but it's not easy. Will plot my food on MFP and see if it helps.

plumstone · 07/10/2016 08:32

Morning All, great losses!! official weigh in day today - and 3.5lbs off so:

Start: 11st 0.0
Current:10st 10.5
Loss 3.5lbs

So relieved and happy, Howlong - I am a big fan of 16:8 and only eat between 12 and 8pm (however this week seems to have been more 8am to 6pm) I love it - I don't have a sweet tooth but cheese is my downfall and I can pretty much eat it all day every day!! With regards to weighing everyday - I weigh Monday, Wednesday and Friday - only ever record Friday's weight thats my weigh in day - but I don't like surprises. Also there is a thing in the Daily Fail today saying the best way to loose weight is to weigh in daily so maybe that is the way to go!!!!

Cheesetoastieyum · 07/10/2016 08:53

nightwanderer me too! Have you got a decent head torch?

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 07/10/2016 09:20

Howlong I weigh every day but pick a specific day for an "official" weigh in that I log on MFP. Thursday's work well got me as I tend to eat quite well Monday - Wednesday, then a loss motivates me into the weekend (sometimes!)

Re: 16:8 - you can't eat whatever you want in your 8 hour window. As with 5:2 you should be broadly eating your TDEE (lots of calculators online to help you work out what that should be). I've set my TDEE at what it would be at goal weight, so I can get used to eating like a healthy sized person. 16:8 is supposed to mimic some of the health benefits of 5:2 fasting (insulin levels etc) but is less intense for those (me!) who think they couldn't handle 5:2. Lots of bodybuilding sites advocate 16:8 and fasted cardio, I think because it's supposed to help cut fat faster - but I don't know how strong the science is behind that

BitOutOfPractice · 07/10/2016 09:41

Well finally, after my weight creeping inextricably upwards, despite not being naughty, I have lost 1.5lbs. What a relief!

My goal seems further away than ever though, what with my poxy new scales Angry

ChickenVindaloo · 07/10/2016 10:16

I weighed 12st 10 this morning. Pleasantly surprised. That's 4lbs off already. Funny how you lose nothing for a fortnight then several pounds in one go.

MsHeffalump · 07/10/2016 11:47

My version of 16:8 doesn't involve eating whatever I want for eight hours. It was just a helpful way of reminding my brain that a biscuit binge wasn't going to happen. After 7pm is when I do most of my eating junk, but if it's outside the eight hour window then it's off the menu and that's that.

As of this morning I'm four pounds down this month. Out for a drink tonight though...

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 07/10/2016 14:31

Great losses ladies! We're out for drinks tomorrow as desperately need to blow off some steam!

UpOnDown · 07/10/2016 16:51

I'm with you leesmum on a strict weekend!

Well done all on the losses!

leesmum · 07/10/2016 19:21

Well done you lot for all your losses and getting some exercise in 👍

I have just poured myself a large slimline tonic with lemon....in a wine glass of course. I will do it Grin

Have a brilliant weekend ladies Flowers

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 08/10/2016 08:00

Great losses ladies - well done. I went to the pizza express brunch yesterday and was actually able to be quite disciplined, I only had two slices of pizza and stuck to the salad. I then had several mojitos and after moving on to a karaoke bar later grabbed a kfc on the way home!!! But on the plus side I seem to have maintained weight from last week (so far) so will just have an extra good week this week. No more brunches planned so hopefully all be easier.
