Hello all! Didn't make it on the thread - or mfp - over the weekend, so just catching up on everyone's news. Great loss PJ. Keep doing what you're doing! And 1lb down too loli is great. Amazing you are officially at goal Sesame. And you are in the zone Need. Sorry you saw a bit of a rise sugar - but on the grand scheme of things, and considering where you started it is a minor blip. And restrained given your travelling. And good luck this week Not for your big push.

Tough w'end in the bath-household. Needless to say I turned to food & wine to cope. Not feeling energised enough for a run, but will take dog out for good long walk in a bit & hope to clear my head & burn off some of the damage.

Go us. And go Loli in new LBD !!! Star

Bathsheba3 · 14/11/2016 16:18

Can't stop thinking about food today. So far resisting the open packet of biscuits which I have hidden in a cereal box in the cupboard Wink. Munching on carrots to hopefully last me until dinner. I'm making kedgeree this eve & will substitute 1/2 my rice for green beans instead.

Nearly half the way through the month ...

Not2bObvious · 14/11/2016 16:56

Just did an afternoon weigh in - in advance of possibly being weighed at the gym. 11.9 - I am so over this. It's my rebound weight or so it seems. Trying not to feel down about it as let's face it the scales didn't get to that number by itself. I haven't even had my dinner as I'm scared it would come back up with a workout so I've only eaten 600 cals today so far. So I think I'm v likely h'angry.
bath pls don't slip, you've come so far and all excesses do is make us feel even sh*tter. Well done on resisting the biscuits. I'm planning a small piece is steak after my class and nothing could appeal less right now.

Needastrongone · 14/11/2016 17:55

Kedgeree sounds lovely Bath. I haven't made that for ages. Very satisfying for the hunger pangs. I get those hungry days too. Keep going. You resisted.

I AM in the zone. But this is new for me and I am seeing results. 3lbs so far since starting MFP but about 9lb in total. And I really really want to run the times I used to run. And to do so will mean tons of training and dropping weight. This is my own personal goal that motivates me and keeps me going. Saddo that I am Smile

Not You WILL feel better for exercising, I promise. Moving makes us feel empowered. Steak sounds yum too. Keep going. Tomorrow is a new day. We can all do this together.

I've moved quite a bit today. 3 miles brisk dog walk and 4.5 mile run, so I have 649 calories in the bank from exercise. I think it's the key for me, moving!

One of the guys at work who has been on holiday commented today that I had lost weight/weight was dropping off me. He's a serious cyclist, and we worked together when I ran competitively, so he 'gets' me. A welcome boost to the confidence.

Small Avocado on toast for breakfast.
Edamame bean salad and 2 clementines for lunch.
Some coffee.
Total is 506 calories so far. Having a JO risotto for tea but going to chuck in chorizo and have a glass of red and still should be under.

Keep going guys. We are all amazing. We can do it. Stay strong. Keep motivated towards whatever goal you all have.

Bathsheba3 · 14/11/2016 18:08

Thanks Not & Need. Have resisted biscuits, and will continue to do so now I'm accountable to you both! Great exercising too Need*. Good idea to stick some chorizo in your risotto too - much more satisfying for the taste buds. I am going to do my utmost to abstain from the vino again Mon-thurs this week.

Feel for you Not - you aren't really 11 9. You are just a lot of water, waste, & hot air !! Whatever you WI at later won't be real either, but it will be a marker against which you will be loosing from. And loose you will. How often will they be weighing in? You'll loose a bit just from sweating this eve! Good luck, and have fun.

Sugarandsalt · 14/11/2016 19:16

Well done on the will power Bath! I resisted a ferrero rocher offer so I'm also feeling virtuous. Late day in work sadly, just leaving. And another late one tomorrow but half day Wednesday. Not we all get stuck, I got stuck at 12 stone for ages but it always eventually moved. There's a science behind it if it helps.

I've had a good day. If I ever get home for dinner I'll be on 1250 call at close of day.

Not2bObvious · 14/11/2016 19:53

Thanks guys, your support is really appreciated. Felt v frustrated before I went out, now I'm just destroyed😁 I was this close to stopping for chips on the way home but I motored on (well walked on, walked to/from class 15 mins each way) Had my small portion of steak, mushroom, onion and a tablespoon of real Mayo. And it was very very nice. The workout was grim but I got through, booked in tomorrow for a 45 min session and I'll get weighed then.
I don't know how I'll dry my hair, can barely raise my arms!

Bathsheba3 · 14/11/2016 22:19

Day 1 done Not, well done you. Hope all the gym sessions aren't going to pump your muscles into iron which obv will weigh more Wink

I'm in at 1189 today. No wine, so had 2 x decaf coffees instead. Kedgeree was yummy. Added peas, spinach & green beans on the side. Green goddess. Your steak sounded good Not. Can't believe you nearly got tempted by chips on the way home! Perhaps you needed something salty after your gym sesh? Don't forget to stretch-out to hone your body into lean and long.

Night all. Let us all get some good sleep & refreshed for another day tomorrow

Bathsheba3 · 15/11/2016 06:54

1 lb up to 11 11. Not surprised given my weekend. But I have 2 weeks + 1 day to reach 11 7 by the end of Nov. 2 lbs / week is doable. Shall I give it a go?

Not2bObvious · 15/11/2016 07:10

Hmmm interesting question bath So 4lb
and 15 days, so losing just over a quarter of a pound a day. 14,000 calories cut or burned. I don't know if that makes it sound easier or harder😁 1000-1200 calories a day would probably do it with some decent exercise thrown in too. You'd have to really stick to it, weekends would have to cease to exist, well weekend bad behaviour! Do you think you can do that? And that's if the body cooperated fully, I think we all know the scales is a savage biatch lol. I just struggle to be good 7 days on the trot. I want want want to be 10.13 by my Christmas party, there are people going I haven't seen since last years & shallow as it sounds I want to be slimmer than when they saw me last. Pathetic really, just too many years of being the fat one. And then I want to be 10.9 by my family party, probably less then 10 days after that. Impossible I reckon, a stone in 5 weeks. But feck it, I can give it a go😉

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 15/11/2016 07:48

I was at "no" by line 1 not!! I don't have it in me to be that religious, but I'll give it a damn good shot 'cos if I don't, I'll know what the consequences are.

I'd say 4 lbs in 2 weeks is easier than 14 lbs in 5 weeks, but I like your style!!! You are one very strong determined woman. Nothing in halves I'd say Wink. What did you weigh this time last year btw? Bet you were far from the fat one in reality, but you will already be down a dress size or two, and will shine Star

Sugarandsalt · 15/11/2016 08:28

Well Not you sound determined and that's over half the battle! Nothing wrong with being slightly shallow at times, I'm exactly the same. I have (yet) another wedding coming up in 3 weeks and would love to be 11 7 by then. Although I know that's somewhat unlikely given how slow I've been losing!

Bath well done! We are both dancing around the same few pounds, so I'm using you as my inspiration right now!

I'm back to 11 10.5. Due to the slightly early arrival of my period. Weight loss has really thrown my cycle, used to be 31 days but now it's 25-27. Hopefully it will settle soon.

Betweeen being sick a few weeks ago, having lots of guests and trips home I've got out of the habit of exercise. Going to ge back to 3-4 HIIT workout a week and keep up the Pilates. I'm staying in work late today so will start tomorrow.

Sugarandsalt · 15/11/2016 08:45

Sorry Bath I misread and thought you were down 1lb- wasn't being sarcastic!

Needastrongone · 15/11/2016 09:06

I'm new to all this, so don't have that many useful suggestions. I wondered if it's more realistic to plug into MFP just a 2lb loss at a time? Would that actually make you lose more in the long term and permanently? If that's any help!

How much have you lost overall Sugar?

Well done on your workout Not.

I'm just off to a toning and strength session. I'll jog down to the class and do a 3 miles run after to get the cardio in, plus the dog walk. Day off. Rest of day will be chores.

Had JO chocolate porridge for brekkie at 350 cals.
Avo and toast for lunch as one is 'on the turn'!
Salmon and roasted veg tray bake for dinner.
Grapes for a snack and a glass of wine for my treat.

Sugarandsalt · 15/11/2016 09:16

I've lost 4stone 2.5lbs. Just finding the last stone really hard going! Partly due to lots of trips for weddings/hen parties/birthdays lately and partly due to diet fatigue I think.

More motivated again this week though, plan for today:
Breakfast: overnight oats, chia seeds and a little cashew butter (220cals)
Lunch: Chicken veg soup and a small salad (350cals)
Dinner: Fish coconut curry (550cals)

Leaves me 200 for some fruit/snacks. Won't be home til late but should hit 16000 steps.

Annarose2014 · 15/11/2016 09:34

So this morning I worked up the courage to weigh myself. It's 7 weeks after birth so I expected it to be terrible but it was still Blush
84kg, or 13 stone 3 lbs. BMI of 29! Blush

So it's all a bit daunting.

I also am struggling to find the time to enter everything - do you all do it after each meal? My meals are very ad hoc with 2 tiny tots and I keep starting to enter it and then being pulled away halfway through....then forgetting to do it etc.

The weekend was a disaster with a sick toddler so tbh none of us are proper dinners . He wouldn't take anything decent so DH and I just picked/threw together sandwiches.

Do any of you have tips for when life is a whirlwind?

Bathsheba3 · 15/11/2016 11:30

Anna. Congrats on your baby Grin. 7 weeks post birth is still so v early to be worried about your weight, especially with a toddler to be looking after too.

My best advice to you is to not worry about your weight at this stage. I'm no expert, & you'll have done it all before with DC1, but your body will naturally be holding onto every last energy reserve for the time being, if not for bf'g, then to give you the fuel to make it through each day!

Make sure there is good, wholesome, nutritious food in. So if you need to pick at something, it is protein-rich, a scrambled egg, or an avocado on toast, rather than grabbing sugary biscuits, cakes etc. Prawn / chicken stir fry takes no time if you buy everything pre-chopped & noodles pre-cooked. Don't set yourself too high expectations at the moment - the weight loss will happen. Give yourself, your body & your baby until the new year at least. And everyone will be too busy cooing over the new baby & an excited toddler come Christmas season, to notice what size you are in Wink

Needastrongone · 15/11/2016 12:38

I agree Anna. You are 7 weeks post birth. 2 small children. Breastfeeding no? If you are feeding, that will take a lot of your energy. I fed both of mine for a year. I promise the weight drops off because of this. Just try to eat really good stuff as much as you can. And keep posting.

Sugar That's such an incredible loss, well bloody done. I can see why the last bit is a struggle physically and mentally.

Glass done, way way tougher than I imagined and I ache all over. Not so much cardio but tons of abs and strength work. I jogged there and back for a total of 1.5 and going to take the dogs on a long walk now. It's really mild here.

Annarose2014 · 15/11/2016 12:44

Yep am breastfeeding. I guess it's not so much for weight loss (though I do want something of a waist to emerge) as not allowing it to go upwards.

It did last time! Blush

Bathsheba3 · 15/11/2016 13:35

In which case Anna the fact that you are on the case with yourself & posting on here means half the battle - and the hardest imo - is won! The other half is just making sure you don't go mad & pig out, over-compensating for bf'g. Keep posting here & be accountable to us Smile.

Not's stern talking to me this morning has already resulted in me going out for a run, with some squats, lunges, and push-ups thrown in Wink. Probably not quite up to need's super-fit level, but every little bit helps!

Bathsheba3 · 15/11/2016 13:40

Knew it was a mistake Sugar. As Need put so well, well bloody done. We are all in this together. Hope everyone else are doing OK ....

TheQueenOfItAll · 15/11/2016 14:23

Hi all,

Wondering if there's space for one more here? I started in the "lose a stone before xmas" thread, but found it a bit too busy for my liking!

Just some info, 24 and looking to lose 3 stone in order to get back to my old weight of ~9 stones.

My weakness is definitely snacking - I go to an evening class twice a week and find it really difficult to time my meals and end up pigging out when I get back home at night.

Not2bObvious · 15/11/2016 14:59

Well done bath, you'll say goodbye to that pound no problem if you keep going like this. Not so much a stern talking to, more a this is what you'll need to do to lose that amount of weight in that time😉
Anna here joining in with the relax its early yet school of thought. My swelling had barely subsided after 7 weeks, be concious but not obsessed I'd say. Lovely new squishy baby, oh I'd love that (not allowed anymore sulk) Very welcome thequeen, sorry to rush without saying more but have to get changed to go to the gym to get officially weighed and then do a 45 minute class. Wtaf have I let myself in for😩

Needastrongone · 15/11/2016 16:41

Hi Queen. I'm very new too, but these guys are extremely friendly and lovely. I wonder, could you have a snack before your class? Or a meal at lunchtime?

I am honestly not super fit yet. I hope to be. I've had a 5 year break. All those years of my fitness base completely gone. I alternate between joy at being able to run and exercise again and despair at effectively starting from scratch. But not much, in the main I am energised and feeling brilliant for dropping weight and starting to gain fitness. My skin is better and my will power after seeing some results is strangely stronger.

I walked 4 miles with the dogs. So they are happy. 300 calories in the bank.

Bathsheba3 · 15/11/2016 17:08

Welcome queen. How are you doing so far?

Just managed to sneak in a crafty trip to shops after work meeting. I am now the proud owner of a pair of size 12 wide-leg black trousers for xmas. Rather tight, but 14s too loose.

Am out this eve, so will look forward to update from not upon my return. Will stick to fizzy water .... I hope ....
