Wow so many updates!

spud we haven't had lasagne in ages yummy. Your posts really ring true with me - my progress is very slow but I'm finding it much easier than I thought I would and I'm having my biccies so not feeling deprived. Get well soon - lots of (low-calorie) chicken soup Wink.

cora and sausage great calorie totals again for yesterday!

made that's great that the interview went well. Fingers crossed!

Aw Scribble so sorry about work stress yesterday. But don't lose heart - can't improve on the advice given already but whatever happens, don't lose hope! I agree with everyone else - sometimes the scales can just be downright evil.

Ah Not you've done so well with all the classes already! A day or two of deviation won't have any long-term effect because all those new muscles will be burning calories much faster Grin.

Sesame well done on resisting all the yummy food at work yesterday! 9 cals under and not feeling hungry is a great result!

Loli hope you had a lovely date night! And that's great that you've reached the 3 st mark - well done Star!

sugar you are doing so great - steps, exercise and calories - well done! Good luck with the Pilates tomorrow!

Running wow 1450 with a slice of yummy cake is great!

Aw Hopefully some good advice there from everyone - but I think you have to be kind to yourself and realise that yes - as you're close to target - unfortunately it might take being really strict to see losses more frequently. Please don't lose heart - you have done so well already.

Over I think Bath is right - you will have a whoosh soon - the numbers will have to kick in.

Ugh Bath that's a horrible feeling - could you try the classic lots of coffee trick?

Wally congrats on being in the 12s! Well done Star!

Welcome newbies !

Was v naughty yesterday - knew I had a box of choccies leftover from my birthday that I'd been ignoring, but the best before date is nearly up so thought I would indulge...'as an experiment' Hmm. With all my historical issues with chocolate I knew it was a risk, and true to form I ended up eating 4 instead of the planned 2 ( as well as some biccies), so finished up on 1465 yesterday.

Had 2 more today so should finish at 1300, but I realise now I can't be trusted with them in the house. Even the smell when I open the lid just gets me going. Back in the day, the whole box (530g ~ 2,800 cals) would have been completely devoured in about an hour after opening, so I guess that's progress, but I know it would be so easy to go back to that sigh.

Bathsheba3 · 06/10/2016 18:22

So true Dawhead. You were very restrained to have just 4. All or nothing for me. Just to prove, I have munched my way through a whole box of seeded ryvita thins this afternoon in 10 mins. I knew they were there, and I wanted to munch on something. I'll certainly need some serious coffee tomorrow to help Wink.

8/10 is still an A in my book Not. More important to get the decks cleared so you go on your holidays relaxed - otherwise you will waste the 1st couple of days being tense.

coragreta · 06/10/2016 19:32

Urgh. I'm at 1475 and I don't even feel like I've eaten much today. It's official weigh in tomorrow and I really wanted to be down. Guess I'll just have to keep going.
Hope everyone else is doing better than me today.

Sugarandsalt · 06/10/2016 19:42

I was on track for 1160 but just got in from work and need to shred pre dinner so had a handful (20g) of pecan nuts. So should end up at 1300. Which is ok.

Daw I think you were very restrained too.

imwithspud · 06/10/2016 19:43

Finished the day at just over 1500. Not great but I am under the weather and maybe I could do with the few extra calories to keep my strength up excuses excuses. Weigh in tomorrow morning, I'm intrigued as to what the scales will say.

Bathsheba3 · 06/10/2016 19:55

Great shredding sugar. Hope you feel better soon spud. 1475 is still pretty good cora, so don't be disheartened. But keep out of the kitchen this eve, & don't make yourself feel worse by meaningless snacking can't talk I know.

I'm done at 1346. Made a delicious pot of curry tonight - diced turkey breast, onions, cauliflower, carrots, red pepper, peas, tikka paste & 2 tins tomatoes. Plenty more for the masses another night too.

Looking forward to my glass of slimline tonic with ice & lime.

Callmesausage · 06/10/2016 20:02

Well done Loli, 3 stone is brilliant. I'm coming in at 730 calories after having dinner, so plenty of room for a snack if I need it later. Been really busy so not eaten much thankfully.

SesameSparkle · 07/10/2016 00:48

sugar hope you enjoy the pilates - the classes should really help you with your core

dawhead only 4 chocs is still in the right direction, and your cal count is still pretty reasonable

spud good luck for weigh in

bath hope you enjoyed your fake g+t

call well done on your cal count

loli well done!

wally sounds like you are back on it now - congrats on the size 14 dress

scribble hang in there!

Finished today 209 cals over on 1869, so unless there's some over estimation (which is possible) I was right around tdee. I don't think I ate an extraordinary amount of food though, just there were a couple of extras in there, like a boiled egg and a smallish piece of homemade fruit cake. I think this'll be tricky to get my head round when I start to maintain - as I reckon I would need to try harder to hit smallish calorie totals on most weekdays, in order to get the right average across a week.

imwithspud · 07/10/2016 07:20

Thanks, did my weigh in this morning. 10st 10 so the same as the other day, which is great. I've now lost 4lbs in 3 weeks.

Hopefully · 07/10/2016 08:10

Ate at maintenance again yesterday, have been struck down with a horrible cold which perhaps explains my total lack of motivation this week. Aiming for maintenance again today and probably over the weekend too, rather than stressing myself out while I feel like crap. Maybe doing maintenance for a few days will give me a jump start when I start again too Smile.

Feeling too pathetic to scroll up and down and name check, but it looks like lots of you did well yesterday with good calorie totals. Pom poms for all of you.

Sugarandsalt · 07/10/2016 08:19

Hope there is some (decent scientific) evidence that periods of maintenance during weight loss can lead to more sustainable goals- it's to do with metabolic rate recovery.

I've decided to return to weekly weigh ins as was getting completely obsessed with the day to day variations on the scales.

Well done spud that's a very solid result.

Well done everyone on their calorie counts too- even the bad days are fairly modest and shouldn't lead to gains.

Today I've had porridge (180cals), made a cauliflower and blue cheese soup for lunch (very rich and filling, 350cals) and have my beef stew for dinner (450cals). Which gives me space to have a side dish with dinner or snacks for 300cals. Pilates tonight, may try to force myself to do the shred as well (mainly because I hate level 2 and want it finished!) but I'll see how I feel.

Not2bObvious · 07/10/2016 09:12

Morning all. Very greedy couple of days in mine so I'm taking Wednesday as my official weigh in this week. So sadly didn't make it to under 11 before the holidays. I think my body is going through a metabolic adjustment you mention sugar or at least that's what I have to tell myself. It took me a long time to go from the 12's to the 11's and that appears to be my pattern. Few hours peace before the giggle of preteens descend. Not an awful lot to do today, everything that could be prepped has been and chances are if I precook anything I'll nibble on it. I'm going to dedicate an hour to packing, do a bit of office admin & then, if I can make myself, I'll do an exercise session before my shower. Sausage & toast for brekkie, oops in holiday mode already

OP posts:
coragreta · 07/10/2016 10:10

Even though o was over yesterday o still lost 1lb. Yay. Finger crossed for the next week.
Maintaining for a few days can be good. Just remember not to be too hard on yourself.
Have a great holiday! Enjoy yourself.

Not2bObvious · 07/10/2016 10:27

Ahh that's brilliant cora well done & well deserved! Thanks too for the nice wishes, the scales may not be playing ball (repeats own words, inanimate object) but my clothes fit - I look, dare I say it, the slimmest I've been in years. I'm thinking I'm going to get all nicely done up today, spend some time on my hair/makeup instead of airdrying & slapping tinted moisturiser on. Going to do a small wander around the shops before collecting the kids. Maybe buy a mag & have a coffee. Feck it, I can pack tomorrow😉

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 07/10/2016 10:55

Well done Cora! And Not I think your clothes are more important than the scales, so well done!

I've had a mad morning. Running around like mad. Have already hit 10k steps though. It's left me starving so I've got some vegetable dumplings to eat with my soup (190cals). Will bring me to 1200. Having a hungry day though so I expect I'll go over.

Runningupthathill82 · 07/10/2016 11:39

Just a quick question, lovely people - when you post your calories at the end of the day, are you including the amount taken off for exercise calories, or not?

I'm grouchy, have GAINED 2lb. I bet it was that slab of cake the other day. I really, really can't go over 1200 at all, ever, if I want to maintain 9st. Grrr.

Still, 9st 2 is fine. More than fine - I never thought I'd get this low. Maybe my body is telling me it doesn't want to lose any more!!

Sugarandsalt · 07/10/2016 11:44

I don't include exercise calories. I think MFP massively overestimates calories earned. I like to have some as I see them as a cushion, but that's all. Exercise more for 1. Toning and 2. Mental health in my opinion!

Running 9st2 is great! Remember there are day to day fluctuations of up to 7lbs, which you will see.

Not2bObvious · 07/10/2016 11:57

Unless you ate the slice of cake followed by another 14, that's just a bit of bloat running (any consolation 2 days @2000 showed around the same for me...sob)
It's a ball ache as the lads I worked with used to say😉

OP posts:
Runningupthathill82 · 07/10/2016 12:28

Thanks both, I'm not too het up about it, but it's annoying! And I completely agree with this: I don't include exercise calories. I think MFP massively overestimates calories earned.

The only time I include exercise calories is if I go for a big run and know I need to eat a bit more so I don't crash. But I don't include walks, short runs, exercise classes, day to day moving about etc.

The 2lb is possibly constipation Blush

Bathsheba3 · 07/10/2016 13:40

I ended up with a glass of red last night, as just felt like it. Was delicious at the time, but paid for it this morning - headache, grouchy, plus the sweats. I really don't think wine & I agree. Should have had the gin!

Hope the party goes well this evening Not, am sure you will look gorgeous this eve as well as slinky malinky too. I'm dressing up this eve - charity dinner - and tomorrow - wedding - both kind of sprung up. So I guess I shall just write the weekend off now ... If I don't get a chance to check-in again (which is highly likely given how the logistics of kids & dog with 2 functions in 2 days out-of-town with both sets grandparents selfishly away) wishing you an amazing holiday Not. I hope you have a really lovely holiday - you deserve it. Will miss you ... awwwwww Wink

SesameSparkle · 07/10/2016 15:52

spud well done on the loss

hopefully get well soon

sugar weekly weigh ins sounds sensible

not have a lovely holiday! Where are you off to?

cora well done on the lb loss!

running I don’t really get much in the way of exercise cals to post. I walk a little every day, but this is my routine rather than extra effort, so I don’t bother about entering/deducting my calories. I do however enter the cals for running – I only go out once a week and this then gives me a wee extra for some cake.

bath enjoy your parties, and mind you stick to the gin! Wink

Weighed in at 10st this morning, boo! It’ll just be bloat though, as I’m waiting for af to arrive any time now – and I reckon I won’t see any more loss until she pisses off again.

madein1995 · 07/10/2016 17:44

Sorry I've not been on here lately been a busy few days. Maintained this week 😊

Sugarandsalt · 07/10/2016 18:36

Well I got my coat. Size 12 in topshop, so while it's not a small size at least I know it's probably a truer size 12 than some alternatives! Got some size 12 Jamie jeans too which fit very well.

Having a hungry day though. Will end up over 1500. So despite my earlier (true) statement about not using exercise cals I've walked 20k steps and have Pilates/shred to do so should hopefullynot do much damage.

imwithspud · 07/10/2016 19:47

Definitely a write off for me today. I don't do well when I'm not well. Oh well, tomorrow's another day!
