Not, Sesame, as another one of the over 40s I completely agree your comments on the face/figure issue. I'm already at the point where I would prefer not to lose anymore on my face, but sadly still have some way to go to get enough off tummy, hips and thighs. Wish one could choose where the fat comes off!

Sugar, I agree it's Autumn coat weather. I have bought a new trench which I'm really pleased with, as my last one was a size 22. It's belted so I convinced myself it will still look okay if I lose a couple more stone.

I'm another one whose calories almost never go low enough to get a telling off from MFP, though I completely agree it's average over the week that matters and it's helpful to give yourself some daily flexibility.

Sesame, does your work canteen offer decent healthy options? I've given up on ours, as I decided the hot meal I was eating at lunch every day was usually very high calorie, and part of the reason I had put on as much weight in the first place. But I miss the social side of eating together with colleagues regularly.

Had another ridiculously stressful workday today, can only hope tomorrow will be better.

coragreta · 04/10/2016 21:01

Finished at 1206 today which is good.
However am not doing my shred today as I didn't get back from work till 8:30 and I am far too tired for anything other than bed. Need to do it tomorrow as I think it was helping. (My muscles were aching at least).

Bathsheba3 · 04/10/2016 21:10

Everyone doing so well with calories today. I'm in need of gin, but sufficing with slimline tonic. Just ...

Not2bObvious · 04/10/2016 21:15

Finishing my day at around 1350. I think my Fitbit is broken😩 It hasn't synched in days, I've rebooted it, rebooted the phone. Nada. So while I can see the steps on it, it's not updating on mfp/Fitbit app. I have had it either 3/4 years so I guess that's not too bad. I'll have to go....sob...read the manual!!!

Definitely not in danger of a telling off today Grin bravely swerved wine but wound up having an odd dinner of olives, breadsticks, mozzarella pearls, carrot sticks, dips and sundried tomatoes. Bloody events... On the upside I would usually have gone totally mad, had a few wines and then got a macdonalds on the way home on the basis I 'hadn't had a proper dinner' so progress of a sort? And I have recorded it all and come in at 1205

bath I hope you're still resisting the gin. If I can pass on wine anything is possible!

april great news about the trench! Totally get where you're coming from re canteen - as someone who works in an environment where food and drink is central, I do really feel like I'm missing out when I'm not getting involved. Is your canteen subsidised? DP's is and he always argues he can't justify buying a salad on the high street when he gets a hot meal for 60p or something silly...

I can honestly say that in almost five years of MFP membership (have used it after all three DC to lose weight each time), I have never eaten little enough to be told off by it Blush Grin.

Not really feeling it this week - came in miles over again for the third day in a row, but not above maintenance at least, and I'm logging dutifully to keep myself on the straight and narrow. Hope my mojo comes back in the next few days, or my grand plans of being at goal around Christmas time will start to look a little ambitious.

SesameSparkle · 04/10/2016 21:52

not and running Yes it's a fine line. I've been on mfp for 176 days and I have been obsessing about losing, and posting on here has been the boost I've needed to keep at it. If I did keep going the way I am, I reckon I could get to 9st by Xmas. That would likely make me a size 10 all over, but the whole problem of shrinking boobs and loose skin will probably be much more pronounced at that point - face it, I'm never going to have a bikini body. April I truly wish I could choose where I lose the weight from!

However all is currently still absolutely in a healthy zone, and my calories and nutrition are pretty decent, but letting go of all that focus and energy to maintain will still be difficult.

April yes there are healthy choices available too. Actually I do prefer to choose a hot main whenever there's something I fancy - I reckon a main plus veg, even if it's not as low calorie as I could make myself is much healthier in the long run as it fills me up and stops me from snacking through the afternoon. I never feel quite the same when I have a sandwich.

scribble that 'dinner' sounds amazing....

hopefully keep your eyes on the prize and hands off the bad stuff!

Kitchen closed tonight on 1746, so 86 cals over.

madein1995 · 04/10/2016 22:13

A type and dash this evening (will catch up properly tomorrow) finishing today on 1190. Porridge, blueberries and tea with 1 sugar for breakfast (first time I've eaten porridge with no sugar and it tasted ok with the blueberries - not the sweetest but not inedible either. Am doing well with the cutting down on sugar I think Grin). Lunch was stir fry - chicken, onion, red, yellow, green, orange and yellow peppers, mushrooms, cherry toms, noodles, 5 spice, soy sauce and chow mein sauce - was lovely, and a 10 cal jelly. Had a fruit winder as a snack. Tea was just now and was a tin of mushroom soup, toast and a scraping of butter, and 10 (I counted them in a little bowl) aero bubble balls. Have been trying to drink lots of water, only I'm not a fan of it plain so been sticking a slice of lemon in there. Am determined to do well this month. Have also rediscovered instagram so I fear I'm turning into one of 'those' people who put every meal on there - my feed is just my meals and photos of the dog who has broken me, after weeks of telling her off for going on my chair I've given up because she looks so cute and doesn't listen anyway so what's the point good day today Smile

Sugarandsalt · 04/10/2016 22:21

Ended up today on exactly 1310 which is the target MFP sets me. Don't think that's ever happened before! 30day shred level 2 and 13000 steps.

I hate level 2 tbh, can't wait to be done with it. I'm hopelessly badly coordinated so can't bear the plank jacks etc, terrified I'll land flat on my face.

I've signed up to Pilates starting Friday. Will probably be a class of slim, graceful women and me...

imwithspud · 04/10/2016 22:22

I used Instagram for posting pictures of food too 1995 Grin I figured it's more 'socially acceptable' to post food pictures on there than on other social media platforms.

Had a quick step on the scales tonight and I'm down 2lbs to 10st 10, and that's after an evening meal and what not. Won't record in MFP till Friday but it's given me a little boost to keep focused for the rest of the week.

imwithspud · 04/10/2016 22:23

Sugar I did 30 day shred on level 1 for 5 days a couple of years ago and then gave up. Not been back to it since, I admire your commitment. It's a tough work out!

Bathsheba3 · 04/10/2016 22:24

Great food-diary for today Made. And such restraint on the aero bubbles balls. Have you tried hot water with lemon? Rather sharp, but it does attack the taste buds.

Yes, I resisted the gin thanks scribble - and finished at 1196. Mutual halo-polishing club!!

176 days sesame is amazing. Can't do maths at this time of day, but it's 6+ months. Star

Bathsheba3 · 04/10/2016 22:25

fingers crossed for continued losses like that this week spud

Callmesausage · 04/10/2016 23:22

Evening all! Ended up at 1119 today. Well done on the loss imwith

Hopefully · 05/10/2016 04:58

Well done to everyone who managed a more restrained calorie total than I did yesterday!

spud fingers crossed for a great weigh in on Fri.

made I find that the less sugar I have, the sweeter things taste naturally - I had a major no sugar kick earlier this year and was amazed at how sweet things like bread or cream tasted when my tastebuds readjusted.

Down another 0.25lb this morning, still a pound up on last Friday. I still feel quite bloaty from the weekend/the lack of actually dieting since the weekend, so hoping I will deflate and lose the rest of the excess at some stage, and that will give me the nudge to get back on the wagon properly.

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2016 07:22

Morning all, down 1.4 to 11.2 this morning - I was 11.1.6 last Wednesday, maybe I should change official weigh in day to Wednesday! Not that sore yet after my class but not thinking I've got off Scot free, it's usually the second day the proper ouches set in. Need to start organising clothes for the holidays, I have enough summery stuff, just need to find it all! I don't want to leave it to the last minute so shall have to get the finger out. Still have my eldest dd party to get through, home invasion by gaggle (maybe giggle is more appropriate!) of preteens on Friday. Oh the thoughts😱

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 05/10/2016 07:26

Sorry that was all me me me.
Well done on the .25 hope, maybe you're struggling cause subconciously you're really close to your body's home weight which I reckon is always half a stone/10 pounds more than you want to me. I wonder is it mother natures way of giving you a safety net, in case of illness or just cause she's a biatch😉 Last few pounds or notoriously tough to go, you just have to be tougher if possible. Any rewards in mind for the next official pound off?

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 05/10/2016 07:31

Made I find the same as Hope- I'm much better staying away from sweet stuff, I want it more the more I have and vice versa.

Just a quick boasty post from me! I braved the scales and saw 11st13 (which is fantastic after my weekend/mid cycle bloat) and means I'm 4 stone down!!!! When I started I felt totally lost and like I'd never manage to lose 5stone to get into healthy range but now I'm 80% of the way there. BMI down from 38 to 28, and waist down from 37 to 27inches (my extra weight is now mostly found on hips/bum/thighs and unfortunately saddlebags). Feels great after foundering around the same half stained for ages (although I did take a month off in summer and aim to maintain to be fair).

Hope everyone has a great day. I think I need to pick a reward...

Sugarandsalt · 05/10/2016 07:32

Half stone not stained!

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2016 07:57

sugar that is fantastic! Remind me, how long has it taken? Oh you definitely deserve a reward, any thoughts?

Bathsheba3 · 05/10/2016 08:01

AMAZING SUGAR!!!! Huge fat congratulations to you StarStarStar

AprilLady · 05/10/2016 08:16

Well done Sugar, definitely reward time!

SesameSparkle · 05/10/2016 08:22

bath yes I'm just coming up to 6 months on mfp.

sugar congratulations! Star 4st is totally awesome - well done you!

Sugarandsalt · 05/10/2016 08:36

Thanks all! Sorry that was all about me!

I started in January, lost the first 3stone by may. This last one has been slow! But didn't try very hard over summer tbh. Really motivated to get down to BMI 25 to start with and go from there. Thinking of a nice pair of leather gloves as a reward. My old ones are tatty now and I have raynauds so need a decent pair as it gets colder.

Hope I think it's very hard when you are so close to goal. I went from 10st7 to 9st10 for my wedding and had to fight for every lb. Not hopefullu your muscles are getting used to the exercise so the pain may not kick in. I'm no longer in pain from level 2 if shred but I still hate it! Hoping level 3 has less planking!

Scribblegirl · 05/10/2016 09:20

That's fantastic stuff sugar, massive well done! Also great news on the loss Not Smile.

I actually have an Instagram dedicated to posting pictures of my food Blush Sometimes I feel like half my time spent on the internet is spent discussing food! I can't imagine how I'd fill my time if I ever reached goal weight ...!!
