New week, new thread.

OP posts:
suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 21:26

WWB - didn;t want a round of applause etc etc from just you, wanted it from everyone [sulk]

Jackie - you may have hit on a winner and snappy title too "Kazakh women eat raw bacon and lose weight". Hmm has a certain ring to it...

Quokka from teh West London thread came around today and she said I should write a book about the experience - but you're right a diet book could solve all my financial worries.

However no excuse for a new wardrobe as this just means I can fit into everything that was too tight before. I am now in the size that I was trying to pretend I was in before I left (ie elasticated waists!)

PS Quokka thinks daniel is lovely - she's a fine woman, I've always valued her opinion...

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 21:27

Can;t remember when you're due MrsJC is it Feb?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 21:27

Oh and thanks for the b'day card Jackie, I was and that you remembered.

JackieNo · 02/02/2007 21:30

. Glad it arrived in time.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 21:32

Silly really I'd forgotten about it until the post arrived - I assumed the cards where new baby cards until I opened them! Even had one from my father . He wants to see us both, hmmm only about 10 years too late.

Have decide whether to relent and see him so many issues to consider.

MrsJohnCusack · 02/02/2007 21:42

yes, due in just under 3 weeks now sue

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 21:52

OOh good luck - is DH primed to post about it so we can get the news quickly?

MrsJohnCusack · 02/02/2007 22:02

no chance of getting him to do anything so useful. he's going to be in enough of a faff looking after DD and - shock, horror - DRIVING. Also I feel I may have been rather rude about him in the last few weeks on here re the DD on the road incident so would prefer to keep him away in case he decides to go snooping...
but I may get him to send an email to a predefined list in which case I can include you and WWB as I have your emails so maybe one of you could stick it up here?

JackieNo · 02/02/2007 22:11

MrsJC - could I CAT you to get your address? I'd love to send a card when it all happens.

CheesyFeet · 02/02/2007 22:20

Hi all, not been around much recently, have been poorly , totally lost my voice much to dh's delight!

I lost 2.5 lbs last week which i'm chuffed to bits with. I have hardly eaten anything for the last couple of days which means I must be ill!

suejonez, [round of applause]

mrsjc glad to hear things are improving with your dd

wwb, sorry you've had such a shitty day, another recommendation for arnica here, tis wonderful stuff. Your dh sounds lovely!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 22:20

Yes please include me. And I missed the DD on the road incident so I will even be polite to him!

MrsJohnCusack · 03/02/2007 06:08

of course you may Jackie! and very kind of you to think of that if I may say so

Think am maybe having a bit of a 'show' yesterday/today (that really is a vile expression). But I have a terrible feeling I'm going to be in this mild prelabour for weeks...lots of tightenings, baby really low, so uncomfortable. grrrrrrrr

my mother had her hip replaced yesterday, went to see her today and she is very well which is a relief. Still as grumpy as ever - usually a good sign!

MrsJohnCusack · 03/02/2007 06:09

I'm rambling I know but I am SO BORED

CheesyFeet · 03/02/2007 08:55

All sounds promising for an imminent delivery mrsjc, fingers crossed for you xx

agalch · 03/02/2007 09:49

Hope it all happens soon mrsjc can't wait to hear all about it!!

I am gonna really struggle this weekend,i am on my own for most of it.Dp is out at his normal job Sat/Sun daytime and out taxiing Sat/Sun night.Need extra money for the wedding.I have gone over the budget a wee bit so i have to send him out to work 24/7 lol.

I will need to go to bed early to stop myself opening the wine.We normally get a bottle for a Saturday and share it,if i open it i will drink the lot and want to snack.

Anyhow off to entertain the dd's so have a good day xx

agalch · 03/02/2007 09:50

Oh forgot to say WWB hope you are ok soon.My friend broke a rib 2 weeks ago but felt okish after a few days. Hope you do too xx

JackieNo · 03/02/2007 09:59

Cheesyfeet - well done on a brilliant loss.

Agalch - DH is away for all of this week (not back till next Saturday), so I'm having to stop myself snacking all evening too. I find it really difficult when I'm on my own in the house.

MrsJohnCusack - have CATed you, although as it's a Saturday, not sure how many people will be around to forward it at MN Towers.

Dottydot · 03/02/2007 16:50

Well I've managed to shock my body today - I went for a run!!!! I used to walk a lot but gave up about a year ago, but had a craving to go out running today as it's been so sunny and crisp. Didn't do too badly - managed to run (and walk in between) for about 3/4 mile! Now whether I'll ever do it again is another matter... Food tracking's going well - although we're out at friends tonight and they've just phoned to let me know they bought a gluten free double chocolate cake for me. Shall practice saying "Just a sliver for me please"...!

JackieNo · 03/02/2007 17:25

Wow Dottydot - that's brilliant. What nice friends you have, too. I'd find it hard to resist, though.

I'm doing potty training with DS (just turned 3), and after an initial reluctance ('I don't want those or those[pullups or pants], I just want my nappy') he's sat on the potty very patiently all day (well, on and off, all day, iyswim), and has just done his first poo on the potty. Cue huge amounts of praise, stickers, chocolate buttons etc. It seems ages ago we did this with DD, and I think she was much younger when we did it. And I'll have to restrain myself from eating all the chocolate buttons once they're in bed tonight.

Dottydot · 03/02/2007 17:34

Awww - Jackie - isn't it fab when they start to get the hang of it! We've just gone through this with ds2 - he started potty training himself a few weeks before Christmas and it's great (apart from last week when he had a slight tummy bug - don't even go there...). Amazing not to have to buy or cart nappies around - although he's still in nappies at night - although this morning was the first morning his nappy was dry when he got up! Our babies are growing up...

JackieNo · 03/02/2007 17:40

They are - I'm slightly that he's got to 3 without my even trying, but there you go. DH is away now until next Saturday, so it seemed like a good time. we don't have to go out anywhere (except to Waitrose tomorrow - will do pullups), and nursery will take over on Monday, so here's hoping...

Fauve · 03/02/2007 18:38

Well done on the run, Dottydot. I have a vague aim to start running in a lollopy sort of way. I can do eight minutes altogether in the gym, by doing two mins running, then two to three walking. I consider that an achievement! But if you continue, it might motivate me to keep trying - should really try to jog to school, I've done it (about once) in the past.

CheesyFeet · 03/02/2007 18:57

Well done dotty on the running, it's not for me at all and I admire anyone who can do it.

All this talk of potty training, I started with dd this week but gave up pretty sharpish when she got a cough - poor little love had no bladder control at all (know how she feels at times )

agalch · 03/02/2007 19:43

Dottydot..respect,god couldn't run if i tried lol.Don't think my pelvic floor would stand for it.

Just had a very very hot curry, made it myself(scottish slimmers recipe) so treating myself to half a bottle of wine

flutterbee · 03/02/2007 20:05

Thank-you for the crown wwb, but I think I have to bow down and offer it to sue for such a fantastic weight loss.

WWB -- Hehehe re the grammar/spelling thread.

Well I haven't been on here much lately because I too have been ill and I too have lost my voice. My whole mouth is red raw (possibly caught oral thrush of DS) and I feel as if I am swallowing razor blades.

It was my birthday yesterday and I had to cancel a meal out with DH because I just couldn't face going, I was really looking forward to it as DH and I haven't been out for a meal together (or just out) since my last birthday.
