made hope the run goes well.

not sending you some mn peer pressure to stay on track today.

Ack weighed in at just over 10st3 this morning. That meal out last night must still be hanging about. Bollocks.

Sugarandsalt · 05/09/2016 09:09

Hopefully onward and downwards! Welcome made. I'm mid cycle and starting to feel the bloat. Sure enough I was back up a half pound this morning.

Have a meal plan in place for the week, only challenge is to stick to it and avoid snacks!

FearsomeNasalHairs · 05/09/2016 09:44

Morning all, just a quick post I will come back later and read properly.
Scales still haven't moved this morning, 13.5 however the wii fit tells me I've lost 2lb since yesterday afternoon. Given the wiifit estimates clothes weight, I'm keeping at the same.. Plus side I haven't put any on I guess

Not2bObvious · 05/09/2016 09:59

Thanks sesame for a better kind of peer pressure😉 That's the problem with daily WI's, you have to take the flux with a pinch of salt, as long as over time the trend is downward. If the weather stays nice I plan on walking to collect the children from school, that's 10 mins down and a sloooww 20 back, they're not brisk walkers! And they'll likely complain the whole way, suck it up little missys😁

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 10:55

Morning all, can I join you? I've got masses to lose - I am 19 st 2 at the moment which is pretty disgusting. I lost over 100 a few years ago using mfp and found it really helped. I also used minimins and that really motivated me. I have a goal of 1310 calories per day and am aiming to get to 12 stone. I got to just under that before and was a size 12, I would be so happy to get there again. I know what I've got to do and how to get there, just need to keep focused

Not2bObvious · 05/09/2016 11:10

Very welcome call, pls don't be so hard on yourself - it's shockingly easy in our world for the weight to sneak on. You're here now that's what matters. There's lots of people who have lost 3 stone in 4-6 months here, if you stick at it that could be you by Christmas. Have you any idea how many calories you had been eating up to now, you don't want to be too hard on yourself initially & end up giving it up as a bad job. I bet you'll be under 19 stone by next week😉

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 11:31

Thank you Not, much appreciated. I am aiming to be at 17 stone by Christmas. I am most definitely my own worst enemy, I've been eating all sorts of crap over the last few months/years always with the same old thing of 'starting the diet on Monday'. If I can get in the mindset, I'm great in a diet, never cheat, however getting in the right
Mindset never seems to happen any more. I'm so ashamed and embarrassed about putting the weight back on, I never thought I would. I thought I had left the emotional eating thing behind, but definitely did not. Anyway onwards and upwards or downwards. Just making some butternut squash soup, total saucepan is only 186 calls.

How much have you lost?

EmilyDickinson · 05/09/2016 12:13

Welcome call. Excellent start with your butternut squash soup. Smile I find having soup really helps to keep those lunchtime calories at a sensible level.

Bathsheba3 · 05/09/2016 12:22

Welcome Call - glad you are joining us - and great goal. Totally agree with you on the mindset thing.

First things first - clear the crap out of the kitchen! If it's not there, you can't eat it.

Not2bObvious · 05/09/2016 12:27

I was just on 13 stone February 2015, I'm now wavering between 11.2-11.7. My worst was post pregnancy at 15 stone, first time round I lost 4 stone in 4 months through bf and manic walking - in hindsight I think I had a touch of pnd, it was a lot to lose & I was very down/lonely. I'm found it hard to get from the 12's to the 11's and now even harder to get from 11's to 10's - I love my food and wine at weekends and constantly play catchup. But I'm working on it - anyway lovely to have you here, lots of support when you need it

SesameSparkle · 05/09/2016 12:43

Yes, daily weigh ins are frustrating as hell, but I can't really stop myself from doing it either.

call welcome - some great advice here from the other mfp-ers. 4 years ago I was probably somewhere around the 15/16st mark and a size 20/22 - I never even knew how much I weighed then as I was too scared to look. Now after the latest loss (2 stone in 4/5 months) I'm 10st3 and a size 12. If I can do it, anyone can.

Onwards and downwards!

coragreta · 05/09/2016 12:46

2lb loss total this week. Not too bad considering I ate out two nights.
However. There is a large tray of cupcakes in the office. I am so tempted. I already had one this morning. I need more will power.

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 12:54

Wow, Not, Sesame you've done so well. It's such brilliant feeling losing weight and achieving something. Had soup and went for a quick dog walk, got aqua aerobics tomorrow night. I can't hit the gym or classes yet, think it would kill me. At the height of my last weight loss I was doing minimum 3 combat classes a week and loved them. I am desperate to get fit again, lugging over 19 stone around is just bloody ridiculous.

Thanks for the support, it really helps. Hope I can offer some back too.

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 12:55

Well done Cora. Walk away from the cupcakes.....

madein1995 · 05/09/2016 13:20

Don't do it cora, have a cup of tea or coffee with a few sugars thrown in instead? Or a bit of fruit - a sweet craving but healthier? You're doing really well Smile

I've done well so far today, I had a cuppa tea with semi skimmed milk and 1 sugar (trying to cut down on it slowly) and cornflakes and semi skimmed milk for breakfast, then I went into town to the jobcentre, then I did a bit of shopping and have done 2000 steps so far according to the fitbit. May take dog for walk later but it's raining and she hates it, so just sits on the pavement and refuses to move! Dinner was scrambled egg on 2 peices of toast, dab of butter, ketchup and grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. I need to weigh my food though, I just entered the toast on MFP but then thought the bread was quite small (end of loaf), weighed it and it was 60 cals for both instead of 180, so a close shave! I've had a cup of tea as well - semi skimmed milk and 1 sugar. I won't be cooking tea til 8 as DM's in work til 7.45, so I'll prob have a banana and fat free yogurt as a snack around 4ish. Dinner is a chicken breast (rubbed with garlic salt and basil) on the plate, pasta boiled and in a sauce of mushrooms, onion, pepper, tomatoes, tinned toms, passata and herbs and a bit of cheese on top and I'll have lettuce with it, I'll do bread and butter for the others but not me.

One issue I have is the evenings, I'm hungry in them and it's not just I want a chocolate hungry, if I eat tea at 5-6 I'm hungry by 10/11, and a cup of tea doesn't sort it out. I'm going to try having tea later, around 8 o clock ish because that'll see me through the night then. Also, I'm a lot more able to eat a banana and bit of yogurt at 4pm as a snack rather than at 9pm, when I think 'oh I've been good today, a treat won't hurt'and then eating a bag of crisps, a bar of chocolate, a handful of biscuits etc. I'm also trying to stop eating chocolate etc so much - easier said than done when parents come home with shopping bag full of goodies - but I'm going to try and have a little something every other day rather than every day - it'll taste better then if I look forward to something, and yogurt and fruit although it has a bit of sugar in, is probably better and more filling than a wagon wheel. I think I need to plan my treats and stick to them.

madein1995 · 05/09/2016 13:28

call I always loved boxercise classes and even though I was the biggest in my class, for some reason I didn't mind too much - yeah I was unfit compared to others but no one seemed to mind or judge me for it. The instructor was fab and let me stay at the back of the class in warm up etc and never did any 'penalty' stuff (in some I've been to, the rest of the class eeds to do star jumps til everyone finishes a few laps or whatever and I hated that and used to feel guilty - but there was none of that) it was just really fun. Try going to a class you used to love maybe? It takes a lot of confidence and I know it's horrible seeing everyone else being so slim, but it makes you feel really good at the end of it, and it'll only help in the long run Smile Don't worry about not being fit atm - when I started back at oxercise last year after a knee op (typical, I just heal one knee and then bugger up the other one) caused by cartilage, after 4 years of not going near a gym, I could barely walk a mile. I went at my pace and soon got fitter. Course, I'm back unfit now - bloody knee - but it's possible to get back up there, you can do it, just go at your own pace - i during warm up you cant run any more, jog or walk really fast, thats what I used to do.

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 13:35

Made, thanks for the encouragement, as long as I don't know anybody there, I will go to the classes, but really, even walking up the stairs and I'm out of breath. I can't ever remember feeling this unfit! I'm starting with Aqua tomorrow and will add on some swimming, then in a few weeks will join in a class. Is your knee on the mend?

madein1995 · 05/09/2016 13:41

It's getting better thanks Call, I've got a physio appointment on Wednesday and the dr seemed confident a few months physio would sort it out so that's all good. It's silly really, I had a bad left knee for years which held me back a bit, so after my OP and full recovery I decided to do things I culdn't before, this involved me going on a surf simulator in freshers and dislocating my right knee, I have all the bad luck lol! It's definitely getting there and I just remind myself that after my op I got back up to be able to run and stuff, so theres definitely hope for this weak knee haha. I love swimming - it can be really gentle, and the aqua gym I find more relaxed than the normal gym, enjoy Smile

Not2bObvious · 05/09/2016 13:47

Exercise for weightloss is vastly overrated but that being said its the effect it has on the mind that can't be beat. I think it's also good for maintenance in the long run, but a decent walk or aqua aerobics are just as good for the moment. It's only when you're doing the crazy amounts you see in the biggest loser or extreme weighloss (like 5 hours a day) that it works for dropping the pounds. Food's the key. I'm a demon for "treats" but try to remind myself a) am not a dog and b) excess treats is what earned me my jelly belly & chunky thighs. And at the end of the day, the biggest treat I could give myself is to lose this excess weight. Well at least all my lecturing is keeping my hands busy & away from the food 😁

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 13:53

Thanks Not, the exercise is purely to make me feel better, not for weight loss, totally agree with what you say. Just feel so lethargic at the moment, so getting moving might help that. Bloody menopause is not helping!

Sounds promising made, hops the physio can sort it out.

Lolimax · 05/09/2016 16:00

Welcome Call! I was 16 stone 2 lbs in April this year, I'm now 13 stone 12 lbs. This thread and the lovely people on it certainly help to keep me motivated. I low-carb and keep the calories under 1200. I also set myself little targets rather than huge ones audit helps me.

Callmesausage · 05/09/2016 16:38

Great weight loss Lolimax, well done. Logged everything on mfp so far today and trying to remember to drink water

coragreta · 05/09/2016 17:43

Not only were there cupcakes but someone brought a birthday cake and handed me a slice! I had a small one and should still come under calories but I'm not happy. I wish I had more will power. Cake is part of why I got to this weight. Feeling low.

Not2bObvious · 05/09/2016 17:46

Aww cora, don't be so hard on yourself. It's just 1 day. Slim people have the odd slice of cake & you've lost 2lbs over the last week. Guzzle water, have a nice dinner and move on. I got good at refusing cake but when I couldn't (faced with the g'wan g'wan brigade) I'd take it, have a taste and when no one was looking chuck it in the bin.

Sugarandsalt · 05/09/2016 18:35

Cora I had a toasted cheese and meatball panini with crisps followed by a double chocolate magnum last week and felt like you did. But remember it's 3500 excess calories to gain a lb. And we will all have the occasional splurge but it's about picking ourselves up again. I twisted funny on my knee today and have exacerbated an old injury. Again. So tonight it's time to RICE I'm afraid. Like Not2B I find exercise doesn't affect my weight loss hugely but really helps my frame of mind.
