Shock look at all the posts, not had time to read them all just here for a quick check in.

Still 10st 7 think it's been 9 days at this weight drives me bloody bonkers the amount of time I go without losing now. Let's hope it's 16 days without a loss like usual and not 21 days like last time Sad

Welcome newbies and well done on the losses everyone Star

Not2bObvious · 03/09/2016 10:27

I think at this stage must it's clear your body stabilises between losses. Coupled with the fact you've lost so much weight, might be slower going for the next bit. 3 stone though, that's so good - you're the perfect example of how perseverance pays off😉

EmilyDickinson · 03/09/2016 10:28

Lolimax congratulations on being in the 13 zone. What an achievement! Halo

Fitter so sorry that you've had a week of tears. I hope this week is a little easier. ❤️

Work was really busy yesterday and I felt like I was on the go all day. Just soup and a piece of fruit for lunch and I came home starving. I did that thing of putting the calories for the evening meal into MFP in advance and realised I had about 20 calories to last me until dinner. I eked them out by drinking mint tea (zero calories) and luckily my DH was home early so I didn't have to wait as long as I'd feared. Succumbed to a glass of wine again - well it was Friday - which put me over my 1,200 allowance by 123 calories. Oh well.

Lolimax · 03/09/2016 10:42

Just checking in! Been for my early morning swim (45 minutes hard breaststroke), back for breakfast via Sainsburys (a girl HAS to have something new to wear lol!) then I'll walk the dogs in the rain for an hour before I wake DH up. He was nights last night but we're heading out to the big city for a few drinks later and some food. Not great for the diet but with the exercise I would have done hopefully the damage won't be too awful!
I had some advice on the Exercise thread about a Fitbit it seems the one I need isn't out yet so I'll hold on until the Flex2 comes out later this year. It's not bulky and is waterproof which is what I'm looking for.

I'm going to have a goal for September: to get into the 10s. Game on!

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 03/09/2016 11:35

I'll join you stew, ooh imagine seeing 10'something. I can remember ever being 10'something. I was 9.4 at 19 and 11.2 at 23 and never under 11 stone in nearly 20 years!

Bathsheba3 · 03/09/2016 11:51

Nice to catch-up on everyone's news!

Great goal Stewards - I would love to join you & Not but I have too far to go. Under 11.7 for me, which will be a whole stone in a month. You sound very determined and I'm sure you will do it!

Good exercising Lol. You have def earned your night out tonight!

Must - please don't be disheartened. You have lost 3 stone in the most controlled and consistent manner. You have stuck with it when I gave up and put it all back on. Halo

Emily - sounds like you really deserved that glass of wine last night, esp if it only put you 3 calories over !!!

I'm doing OK - not weighing until next week, but feeling OK. Even managed 5k run wobble (non stop!) thursday morning. Plus no alcohol for 4-days, but am constantly thinking of food. And I still want / expect huge portions, so am bulking up with salad & veg. I just like eating, fact.

Not2bObvious · 03/09/2016 12:00

Very well done on the 5k bath, I wanted to do park run today but it's bucketing down here and I'm not destroying my expensive runners & giving myself pneumonia unlikely but good excuse
I've said I want to get under 11 stone so many times now I'm considering setting it to music! But feck it, you have to keep at it don't you or break out the miu miu's. Best of luck to getting to 11.7, I'm challenged to stay under that the last couple of months. My body likes that weight a LOT

Hopefully · 03/09/2016 14:32

Bathsheba I love eating too. It's one of the things I have had to come to terms with during the weight loss process after each DC - actually I love food and it's always going to feel like deprivation to diet, I don't ever get used to it. I'm actually fairly happy to yoyo diet (within a tight 5-7lb limit rather than stone and stones) forever rather than feel slightly restricted forever more!

Gave in and had two (prepackaged, no germs!) biscuits at the course, but DH had unwittingly given the slice of leftover cake I was saving my calories for to the DC this morning, so it worked out OK in the end. Going to make soup for tonight so hoping for a 1,200-ish calorie day (no exercise to give me extra calories today either). Would love to wake up a fraction lighter tomorrow - I'm only 0.25lb away from my cardigan reward, I want to get there ASAP and then start working towards the next one.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 03/09/2016 19:52

Hello all have you got room for one more to join you?

I'm 33 and weigh 13.5 stone. My whole adult life I've sat about 12(ish) but this year due to a thyroid issue I rocketed up to 14 stone.
I've managed to lose the half stone due to reducing my thyroid meds, with no real dieting, but it's slooooow going.
Tuesday this week I (re)downloaded mfp along with DH who is 23 stone now. I've got a 1200 calorie per day allowance which so far I've managed to stick to -despite feeling on Thursday like I could eat my own arm!

FearsomeNasalHairs · 03/09/2016 19:54

Sorry should also have said I'm 5'7 and aiming for a healthy bmi.. I've put 10 stone in mfp as I think that's about right....

Not2bObvious · 03/09/2016 20:11

Very welcome fear, well done on tackling this with thyroid issues. Very good that your dh is joining you on the mfp journey - it's great for him to tackle it now with you. If you're finding 1200 v hard, start a bit higher & work your way down. None of us got here overnight or will shift it overnight so a week at 1600, then the following at 1500 and so on might stop the chances of getting hacked off and giving up (or snaffling an arm😉)

Hopefully · 03/09/2016 20:24

Hello fear, welcome aboard. great that your DH is joining you. Mine doesn't do MFP but is also on a mission to lose weight this year (he has actually lost almost exactly what I have, making about 5% the effort I have, which I am slightly bitter about) and it's made it much easier.

Kitchen closed and I've finished on 1,276 without any exercise calories to help me out, which I think is my lowest calorie intake since restarting MFP in June! Fingers crossed for an amazing weigh in tomorrow to reward myself with.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 03/09/2016 20:51

Thanks for the tips I've read the whole of thread 4 this week, so inspiring to read!
Today funnily I've found 1200 easier, I think it's because Tuesday and Wednesday I was 'wasting' my calories by still trying to eat junk, just smaller portions. Realised thirsday afternoon I needed to make smarter choices.
I'm verrrry fond of a milky coffee, and nearly cried when I read how many spoonfuls per cup that was. Especially as my coffee 'cup' is actually a pretty large mug

FearsomeNasalHairs · 03/09/2016 20:52

Spoonfuls per cup?? Confused should have said calories

FearsomeNasalHairs · 03/09/2016 21:00

Was going to ask if you don't mind hope how big is DH?
Mine is just over 23 stone and mfp has given him 2210 calories a day, he's been laughing all week how easy he's found it.
Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow sure your hard work will have paid off Smile

coragreta · 03/09/2016 21:31

My husband is no help at all. He is slim and eats carbs all day long!
I imagine it will be a huge help to have moral support and encourage each other together.

Not2bObvious · 03/09/2016 21:37

On other threads you'd be told to LTB for that behaviour hope😜 Men eh? Good job on the final cal count, koudos!

SesameSparkle · 03/09/2016 21:46

hopefully I find it helps to bring my own snacks to eat while everyone else tucks into 'meeting biscuits'. Good luck for weigh in tomorrow!

stewards glad you have some progress there

not hope you managed to stay on track today?

must how frustrating! I was stuck at 11st1 for over 2 weeks and was close to giving up as a result - but the scales did eventually budge and I've had a slow and steady loss ever since.

Emily snacking before dinner is my weakness - well done for resisting!

loli I'm impressed with all that exercise - I was still in bed when you posted this morning - and you'd already been for a swim! Halo

stew and not that's a great plan. I still can't believe I'm 10st anything - I was already a size 16 at age 18, so I can't remember ever seeing a number that low.

bath well done on the 5k and staying off the booze. I think bulking up your plate with lots of veg and salad is key - make it as varied and colourful as you can.

fear welcome! Smile I know what you mean about milk in tea and coffee - I really had no idea how many extra calories it was before mfp.

Today was a good day, finished on 1511 calories. And it felt like I got loads of food for that, including French toast for breakfast, choc covered marzipan as a snack and pasta for dinner, followed by a big bowl of fresh fruit. I find weekends so much easier as I've got plenty to keep me occupied, and I don't feel the urge to snack in the same way as when I'm at work. Weighed in today at a smidgen under 10st 4lb - I'm glad the loss is sustained, but I would really like to see 10st3 now.... Please, thank you....

Hopefully · 04/09/2016 05:12

Fearsome DH is a shade under 14 stone now, having started at closer to 15 stone. He's not tall though (5'9"-ish) so that had him into the obese BMI category. He definitely eats far more than I do for the same loss still! The tea/coffee issue is very depressing - I have become such a herbal tea aficionado, as it saves me 25 calories in milk each time! At 8-10 cups a day (which I was drinking), that's an awful lot of extra calories.

Humph, I weigh exactly the same, to the 0.1lb, as I did yesterday. I know people say it's more about diet than exercise, but I rarely lose after non-exercise days. I have wondered in the past if I need the exercise to kind of flush everything through. Ho hum, another strict day today.

Bathsheba3 · 04/09/2016 08:36

Morning hopefull. sorry there wasn't a big loss for you, after all your efforts.

I'm feeling very bleuh today. All this extra water & vegetables is making me feel rather inflated. Not on the scales til next week, which is probably a v good thing.

I also went over my cals yesterday by 1 x McCoys crisps (157 cals) & a minuscule bag of popcorn (77 cals). Everyone snacking around me watching sat night TV & the resolve went down the pan. But in my defence it was a good thing I had stocked-up on snacks in individual packets as I would normally have got through a whole big bag on my own, pig that I am Blush. Or rather pig that I was Hmm.

BE STRONG today everyone!

Not2bObvious · 04/09/2016 08:51

I think you were very well behaved bath, it was Saturday night - having a bit of junk is allowed and not even over 250 cals used, that's excellent. I was around 600 over what I'd planned but no damage on the scales, 11.5.4 for 3 days now - that's brilliant for me, my weekends invariably bring an increase of 3-6lbs which is insane! Need to stay strong today which I think can be done, Sunday's are usually the start of the return to good behaviour. Hope, you're due a whoosh of a solid pound since you're being so controlled, and it will be a real pound not a boomerang pound. Sesame you really did great with those calories, you'll see that pound off too no doubt.
I have 5 weeks to go until my holiday, need to get back doing exercise to firm up so I don't frighten the kids in the pool😁 I had been doing great, walking or jogging most days but lost interest the last couple of weeks. Have to get back on it

FearsomeNasalHairs · 04/09/2016 10:48

Morning all Smile

hope I woke up this morning feeling excited for you, I'm sure your loss will come soon like not predicts. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. not well done on the weekend too, I need to channel your will power I think! I actually find weekends easier to make smarter food choices minus the wine which I have so far managed to resist bit harder to get my step count up if we've got nothing planned to do. Even though I work in an office I find that it's been easier this week to take small walks of 500+ steps every hour or so, luckily my boss is a yoyo dieter so she's quite understanding!
I could have hit DH yesterday not really hit but you know what I mean he took the kids to McDonald's and still had enough calories for a prawn stir fry later and complained he didn't have enough calories left for a can of Pepsi at 10pm!
Like I said though I went from 14stone to 13.5 with minimal effort, so I know his time will come when his calorie allowance will drop and I shall just look on smugly when that happens insert evil laugh here!!!

EmilyDickinson · 04/09/2016 11:49

Hello all.

I had quite a good day yesterday. The usual porridge and tea for breakfast and low calorie soup for lunch. I did have a couple of biscuits immediately after lunch but then went for a walk I the afternoon and kept going until dinner. No wine as I was driving and although there was cake (my children are being inspired by the Great British Bake Off) I didn't have time to eat it.

I ended the day on 1,299, so a bit above my 1,200 allowance but still an amount that I should lose weight on.

Down another lb on my dodgy scales this morning, though, to be honest I don't feel any smaller. My clothes are just as tight as before. Maybe I just timed the weighing well. I must buy a tape measure and take some measurements.

I agree about the calories in tea and coffee. They really add up. Especially if you have a biscuit or two with every cup, as I'm prone to do. I'm trying to drink mint tea instead, at least for a few of my drinks. I have to have tea first thing though.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 04/09/2016 12:07

13.5 for the 3rd day running, I really thought my strict 1200 cal diet would have kicked off a bigger loss this week. Sad I guess that weighing daily does mean I will most likely see more smaller losses and less frequently then just weighing once a week though.

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday emily is the mint tea nice?
I've only ever drunk raspberry tea when I was pregnant and I really had to force myself to drink it as my midwife insisted. Maybe I need to try a different flavour?
I've noticed all the 'skinny' girls at work take their coffee and tea black with no sugar, but I don't like the aftertaste of black coffee.
