Well done sesame! I can't honestly imagine being 10 stone anything let alone a size 10! I'd have paraded around the shop with it held up high!!!
Not I remember how stressful those kids parties were, I think you deserve wine later (not helpful lol!). As long as you keep me a rice crispy cake!

SesameSparkle · 18/09/2016 10:34

Thanks not and loli, that's taken me 5 months. I reached my initial goal in June - 11st3 - which was a size 14 and my happy weight, but kept going to get to a healthy bmi for the first time and now just a little bit further to see how the other half lives. I shan't keep going too much longer than this though as I'm terrified of gaining again and I can really see the difference it's made now. It would also be really nice to build up my wardrobe again.

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2016 11:19

It's incredible to think you've achieved that in 5 months, you must have been extremely dedicated. I'm around 11.3 now (no hot stepping today, be more like hot mess!) and 10.3 would put me probably 24 on the bmi? Be lovely to get there by Christmas. I know what you mean about seeing how the other half live, makes you appreciate clothes that fit & not being scared of mirrors. I've had that awful catch a glimpse of myself in a shop window & thought who's that shapeless old bag...oh yeah me! But getting the odd reflection now where I think I mightn't be described as a plump gal, ahh good times (the internal rhetoric is pretty abusive really, need to be kinder to oneself😉)

Lolimax · 18/09/2016 11:58

A quick question for those who do MFP and exercise please? I never 'eat'my exercise calories and try to stay under 1200. But on a day like today where I've done quite a lot (45 hard breaststroke easily 60 lengths plus I've just walked the dogs 6kms in an hour) is it better to increase my calorie intake or eat the same?
MFP is telling me to 'eat' an extra 1225 calories which I wouldn't but I'm also conscious I need to be sensible. Any advice?

coragreta · 18/09/2016 12:50

Well done. I would love to be a size 10. Although I'd have to get down a bit further than 10st to make that happen!
I think as long as you have a snack after you exercise and you've spread you cals throughout the day you should be fine. It might just be that your settings allow a 2lb loss at a higher calorie count.

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2016 12:58

I'd bank the cals loli, or at most eat 40% of what it calculated. Are you starving or feel unwell? Listen to your body as well. That's a tremendous amount of exercise for the day of rest - well done

madein1995 · 18/09/2016 13:34

Wow that's really good loli, I'd second listening to your body. I don't really tend to try and eat my exercise calories - I usually have a banana afterwards though. I'm usually under my original goal even with calorie goal, but if I fancy a bit of chocolate in the evening I do have it. I would eat something after exercising even if that means moving meals, for eg I have my lunch after exercising so I'm still eating afterwards but not being silly with it if that makes sense. Don't force yourself to eat if you don't want to, but at the same time don't deny yourself a bit extra if that's what your body wants.

Lolimax · 18/09/2016 14:35

Thank you all some sound advice. I don't think sometimes that I eat enough especially when I'm around the 1000 calorie mark and have exercised (although today is an exception doing 2 lots). It's all a bit of trial and error isn't it?
So it's a big Sunday roast without Yorkshires or potatoes but I am having cauliflower cheese as I love it, then strawberries and Greek yogurt as my pudding :)

SesameSparkle · 18/09/2016 14:52

not thanks. Have been logging every day over that period which is about as dedicated as I've gotten. I've got 1660 calories a day (half a pound a week) which means I can eat quite a lot of food - so that really helps. I often finish a smidgen over that, but only by 100 or so. Also I walk most days - 10,000 steps typically - but don't eat those calories. Once I get to maintain, I reckon my day to day intake would be pretty similar, I might allow myself a little more at dinner time and think that when I eat out I could probably let go a little, if I'm healthy the rest of the time.

I'm just about 24 bmi now - you'd definitely be able to get there by Xmas. I know what you mean about catching a glimpse in the mirror - it's amazing the difference a pair of skinnies can make (topshop 12s! Grin) - and to think if I was still the same size I was 4 years ago, I'd probably be in monsoon size 20 bootcuts....

loli I think the advice of eating back some of the calories is sensible. I find exercise calories give me a bit of flex, especially at weekends when I fancy a treat or the odd roast tattie.

cora I'm not exactly a consistent 10. My measurements mean a 12 is now better for me. It's just the loss means I've nae hips any more, and all the age appropriate brands from the uk tend to be cut for pears.

Hopefully · 18/09/2016 16:01

Grr, I have completely lost count today with all the party food nibbling. First time I have failed to log a full day in months. Genuinely have no idea what kind of intake I'm on today, but DS1's party went really well (archery and zip wire, for 7/8yos) so I shan't complain.

Was pleased to get back to yoga this morning, even though I could hardly bend with all the sweets/cake/party food I have consumed over the past couple of days. i'll still be useless tomorrow, but hopefully back to normal by Tue.

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2016 18:12

Another one who hasn't a clue about what I've eaten! I know what I ate for breakfast but outside of that its been non stop picking of cocktail sausages, pizza, cake and chicken goujons. Oh well, one day out of the norm won't kill me. I'm now sitting down with a glass🍷 But only having a couple. Glad it's done & the birthday girl had a ball. Back to normal tomorrow. No word on my bootcamp so I don't think it's going ahead. My knees are aching so I'm ok with that

madein1995 · 18/09/2016 20:19

Given myself a rest day today and am pleased with my calorie intake, coming in at 1028. Pool only open tomorrow from 8.30 - 9.15 so enough time to get some laps in, will have to be up around 7.45 to get there in time. Am considering missing breakfast before going as I want to weigh in on an empty stomach, would it be ok to go swimming on an empty stomach? I'd eat breakfast straight after, but I don't want to be up too early and don't want to waste swimming time eating breakfast.

Didn't wake up in time for breakfast, and had 2 chicken tikka sandwiches for lunch and a can of pepsi max. Had a fruit winder mid afternoon. Tea was chicken thai coconut curry and rice, had 2 10 calorie jellys afterwards. Am now having a glass of wine.

Sugarandsalt · 18/09/2016 20:22

I'm just home. Will catch up on everyone's weekend later! Was ok today, coming in at 1500cals but to be honest Friday and Saturday were each verging on 3000+! So I'm not expecting a good weigh in, I'll give myself a few days! I've got my period a bit earlier than expected, so maybe loss of the bloat will balance out the massive binge and I'll stay the same!

Lolimax · 18/09/2016 20:47

Sugar hope you had a good weekend!
Made when I go swimming early (I went at 7:45 this morning) I had a cuppa before I went then breakfast when I got home, I was fine.

dailyarsewipe · 18/09/2016 21:23

Today I have got 929 calories left - surely that's not right?

I've had a two egg spinach and tomato omelette, a jacket potato with loads of salad and cottage cheese, an apple and a can of San Pellegrino (and water and herbal tea). I went for a bike ride this morning and walked round a bike show this afternoon.

I seem to be short everyday, am I doing something wrong?

Bathsheba3 · 18/09/2016 21:27

Just catching up on everyone's news over the weekend. Loli - great news on your loss, whilst on holiday!! That is amazing. And Sesame your continued weight loss is fantastic. A size 10 skirt no less.

Glad to hear birthday weekends went well - cakes looked delicious Not & Hope. I had my fair share of cake too. I also had my first alcohol in 2.5 weeks. Half glass white wine, and 1 G&T. tbh I had such a cracking headache most of the weekend I couldn't face any more drinks Sad. But I guess it was better for the calorie counting, which I have failed to do ...

coragreta · 18/09/2016 21:58

Sounds like everyone has had fun this weekend.
Daily. You're missing a whole meal?
Also does the 929 include your exercise calories? As long as you feel ok you should be fine.
I need some help motivating myself to do exercise. I planned a run but had a nap instead. Then planned to do Pilates instead but spent an hour on my phone. How can I get the motivation back? I would like to do a 5k tomorrow but I always feel so tired after working and putting lo to bed that I end up slobbing about instead. Help!

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2016 22:07

How many calories are you allowing yourself daily? Would what you had be somewhere around 800 cals? Eggs 80-100 each, potatoes are 80 cals per 100gr - could be 250/300 in a decent not huge potato, 100 maybe for cottage cheese. 80 cals for Apple, 140'ish for orange drink. When you say you have 900 cals left are you taking into account exercise cals? When you say you're short everyday you mean you think you're not taking in enough calories? How are you feeling, are you hungry/struggling with energy - if you're not I wouldn't worry too much but just be sure you're getting in a good mix of protein/vitamins/good carbs.
Speaking of calories made, when you say 2 sandwiches do you mean 2 slices or 4 slices of bread? And dry chicken tikka or with mayo. So that's either 300'ish for 1 x 2 slice of bread sandwich or maybe 450 if it has Mayo, assuming no butter. If it's 2 x 2 slices, you're doubling either figure. Was it a calorie counted curry & rice - reason for that question is rice can be pretty heavy cal'wise for very little & coconut milk is c. 180 cals for 100ml (less for light of course) I struggle to get a Thai curry in for less than 500. I know you're not asking but just so you're bang on with the calorie counts - the 1028 doesn't include the wine? I really need to work on my calories so I'm interested in how people are managing/how much and what they're eating on 1000-1200 cals, hence the in depth enquiry. I'm finding this easier than bsd but still quite difficult. Forgive the epic post, I need to see a drop this week and worry I've mucked it up with my weekend munching (so much for saying I didn't care what I ate today😞)

No problem not, I had 2 slices of bread but folded them over so tricked myself it was two Smile it was sandwich filler I had but I weighed 50g (88cals) into a bowl and limited myself to that, no butter. The curry sauce was an uncle bens one - odd person I am I weighed my portion out in a saucepan before stirring the cooked chicken in to make sure it was right. The chicken, I only cooked enough for me and weighed it before chopping Smile the calorie intake does include a glass of wine - but I measured out 175 ml in the plastic jug and just sticking to that. You really don't get much rice for the calories you spend, have just realised I entered the wrong amount of rice which takes me to 1100 for the day lol Blush I normally eat between 1200-1300 which is ok for now but when the time comes I think I'll find it difficult to stick to under 1200

madein1995 · 18/09/2016 22:21

Sorry for putting your post in mine not! I wanted to reply to you properly so copied and pasted so I could answer your wuestions without scrolling up and down my page and forgot to delete afterwards. Sorry!

dailyarsewipe · 18/09/2016 22:22

It said that my allowance is 1200, and then with exercise it went up about 600 and odd. I feel fine, not hungry at all really (but I did just have some peanut butter on toast and a cup of herbal tea so am now about 600 and something. I'm stuffed!

I eat quite healthily anyway but used to eat lots of fibre and sugar (in fruit) and not much protein so have been focussing on eating more protein.

dailyarsewipe · 18/09/2016 22:25

I didn't get up till mid morning so had the omelette as a brunch. I don't really eat breakfast anyway, no time! Used to have a smoothie but realised how much sugar was in one Shock

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2016 22:30

Oh made will you come round & make my food for me! You've got it sussed - you're not weird at all, I'd do the same thing with the curry configuration. My kitchen scales is my best friend/foe. I have to replace the battery a couple of times a year I use it so much (and I get panicky if I don't have a spare!) thanks for taking the time to explain - you're getting your money's worth from your 1200. I need a "you need a budget" app for calories😉
Daily disregard what you're being told on the exercise cals, they usually over inflated by up to 50%, bank them or just used half if you need them

dailyarsewipe · 18/09/2016 22:32

Great advice, thank you.

Hopefully · 19/09/2016 05:06

Urgh, am up to 10.4.2 today, from my low of 10.2.8 last Friday. Only 1.5lb up, but I feel bloaty and hideous after the weekend of fun food. AF due right at the end of the week, so I reckon I've got 48 hours max to lose this bloat before PMT bloat kicks in!

DH and I chucked ALL the party leftovers last night (apart from the DC's own sweets, each in their own labelled tupperware). This is total anathema to me normally - i am the queen of leftovers - but I am desperate to keep losing and he is running a half marathon next Sunday, so we definitely need to not be scoffing party food all week!

Going to start with egg/banana pancakes (I put in just a tiny bit of flour to bind them, but they are pretty healthy with chopped fruit and a dash of maple syrup), then some kind of avocado salad for lunch, then veg soup for dinner today - all as nutritious as I can make it to refuel my poor sugar-overdosed body.
