Caravan holiday update....after a good day yesterday (we won't mention the Pringles/olives/wine slide last night but I actually still came in under 1300 calories!) we're starting the day with a cooked breakfast. Mine involves halumi, poached egg, mushrooms and tinned tomatoes so not too bad, and I've just been for a 30 minute swim. No lunch then steak and salad for tea. Off to an ice cream parlour where they do those mega things involving doughnuts and cream and a months calories. I shall sit with a pot of tea (and the odd foray with a teaspoon) whilst DH makes a pig of himself!

Not2bObvious · 13/09/2016 11:55

Oh wow loli I envy your reserve! No lunch and watching someone else chow down? I'd be a slobbering wreck. Egg & toast still keeping me going but must admit I'm not sure how I'll manage the rest of the day. Doing taxi driver for my dad, collecting kids, collecting dad again. I'm trying to figure out when I'll eat! Will have to get a sambo in, between all the driving. In work for another bit then off and about. Knackered just thinking about it. Hope to have lost a gerbil by Friday though😉

Sugarandsalt · 13/09/2016 12:44

Loli I greatly admire your willpower! Busy day Not2b, fingers crossed for that gerbil! Incidentally I'll be gaining 2 in 11days as DH has signed up to have the nurseries pair as "treat for DD". Hmm.

I've entered my calories for breakfast and dinner and have a fairly healthy allowance of 450, which I will be having after my lunchtime meeting finishes. I think I'll head to pret and treat myself to a nice salad bowl.

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 13:19

Loving all the code words, sugar
Make sure you don't lose the two actual gerbils! Grin

Does anyone know a secret way to make porridge oats more palatable? Brought some today and tested for lunch as I've never made them before Blush

40g porridge oats, one cup of semi skimmed milk and two teaspoons of peanut butter made a mahoosive bowl (way too much for me to stomach first thing - I've never really eaten breakfast before I started this) and was a LOT of calories for a meal that I didn't think was that tasty... Any suggestions?

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 13:22

Should also mention that I split the above into 2 portions in the end one for me and one for DD so only ate half

Sugarandsalt · 13/09/2016 13:27

I do 20g oats, 10g chia seeds soaked overnight with almond milk (like the flavour and not many calories). I add chopped berries or a banana, or if I'm feeling like a treat I add some cacao powder, a little sweetener and a teaspoon of nut butter. That works out 150-220 calories depending.

SesameSparkle · 13/09/2016 13:50

cinder love the new name! Grin even tho I also had to google cinder block… According to your list I’ve lost 240 krispy kreme donuts! Shock

For porridge you could try adding things like natural yoghurt, cooking with a teaspoon raisins, fresh fruit, cooking with frozen berries (purple porridge!), cinnamon, even a teaspoon of maple syrup isn’t so bad as long as you weigh it (it’s very sweet and more watery than honey which means less calories).

Dorothy that spread looks amazing, and glad that despite the indulgences you are still on the way down! Wink

loli good luck with ice-cream parlour torture…

Thumbs up everyone else! Star And thumbs down to all that nasty bloat! Wink

I’m still on 10st2 here (boo), no surprises there really. Af is due at the weekend and would love to drop another guinea pig before then.

Onwards and downwards people… so we can fill up this thread and let cinder set up the new one! Grin

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 14:03

Hahaha! No pressure for me then! Wink
Threads go to 40 pages right? So when we get to 38 pages I will set up a new thread with the title and someone can link it here if that works for everyone?

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 14:07

For anyone else wondering... GrinWink

MFP thread 5
Not2bObvious · 13/09/2016 15:05

That's some visual cinder, my bald eagle looks very wan in comparison. I've been craving a packet of crisps, bought some and now the urge has worn off. Not saying I won't have some later, just don't feel the need anymore - odd, maybe I'm sickening for something ponders as never doesn't want to eatHalfway through my running around, had minor passive aggressive parking war run in at school run but settled for slight dirty look. I must be in a humour as I'm normally v polite & concious of being in someone's way but since I wasn't blocking your f'ing driveway and yes I'm clearly leaving once I put the children in the car, beeping at me and asking am I going seems a tad moronic😡 Oh well if I'm irritated she must be fuming! That should make me feel better but nope just makes me feel guilty...oh I should have just said sorry

Hopefully · 13/09/2016 15:37

Argh, met someone for lunch and had pizza and now have 97 calories to last the rest of the day. Luckily I'm making veg soup for dinner, so I shouldn't actually end up too much over.

coragreta · 13/09/2016 16:04

This hot weather tricked me into an ice cream. Will have to go for a run after baby's in bed.

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 16:05

not that really made me laugh as parking wars are constant here.

Sugarandsalt · 13/09/2016 16:24

I have a little jar I got in sainsburys and scientifically fill that! I think it's 150mls or so, chia seeds soak up a crazy amount of liquid.

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 17:04

Sorry everyone for the porridge hijack(!) and I supposed to eat this cold

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 17:05

Hit send to soon, that was meant to be a question!
Cold porridge???

Sugarandsalt · 13/09/2016 17:19

I hear it usually, unless it's very cold. I feel fuller after a hot breakfast!

Sugarandsalt · 13/09/2016 17:20

Heat. Unless it's hot. Rushed send!

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 17:23

Oh thank goodness, cold porridge made me feel shuddery just thinking about it. So now I feel really dense, but prep it all now, leave in fridge overnight and heat in microwave in the morning?

Sugarandsalt · 13/09/2016 17:29

I do it on the hob but I'm sure microwave would work!

Emz449 · 13/09/2016 17:47

slides in Thought I would just do a quick post to say it's great to see how people are doing, there are some really inspiring losses on here Flowers

For those few! that remember me just wanted to give a quick update to say that my partner has now returned from his jaunt abroad and we're blissfully happy, it's so nice to have him back again, finally!

SesameSparkle · 13/09/2016 17:58

I make porridge with about 25g porridge oats and 175g milk (half milk and half water is also meant to be possible). Microwave for 2 minutes, stir, microwave for 1 minute, stir, 1 more minute (or until cooked), then rest for 1 minute to let it thicken a wee bit more, add toppings (yoghurt and berries), eat! Smile

Not2bObvious · 13/09/2016 18:01

Lovely to hear from you emz, I hope you're keeping well, enjoying reunited bliss❤️

Cinderbelly · 13/09/2016 18:05

Ohh lots of ideas, my quest for the perfect porridge continues will report back probably with more daft questions!thanks all Smile

emz I stalked the last thread before posting here so feel like I know you a bit! Blush Wink
Welcome back, you sound really happy Grin

Not2bObvious · 13/09/2016 18:13

Oh help! I'm this close to buying wine & eating my way through a truckload of chocolate - I can stop, I can stop can't I? Cup of tea, maybe a few little goodies and some cold feet to take my mind off it?? Gah, just feel unhinged
