7lbs in August anyone???

Rshard · 31/07/2016 16:48

Following on from June's and July's thread, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

Starting weight for August for me is 11.10.5. This is from my WW weigh in last Wednesday which is where I ended July. 7lbs would get me to 11,3.5 just in time for my holiday.

Good luck everyone!

It's just been scoffed hello! Ooh that sounds lovely, do you use leftover cooked sweet potato?

Helloheyhi · 09/08/2016 13:28

Bet you enjoyed it Grin yum yum
I use boiled ones. For an added kick, spring onions, garlic, spices, chillies etc. can be used.

Here's a nice recipe

Another one

First time I have done links too!

Squiffy01 · 09/08/2016 14:10

Pony what is the LCHF eating?
I need a new plan I am going rubbish! I don't know why I continue to do it alone weight watchers worked wonders for me every time I did it but I can not for the life of me find a meeting that will fit with my work and doing it online doesn't work for me I need to go in knowing I have to be weighed.
My fitness pal was also good for a while but then it gets boring. I need my diet mojo back.
I miss my partner so much too which doesn't help that just gets me in the mood to want to sit there and do nothing and eat.

I'm bored at the gym so when I do make it there It isn't a serious work out I need some classes but again can't find any apart from yoga that are at a time that really works at the gym I am at.
I do get in 20 000+ steps a day on Fitbit which I guess is something but it certainly isn't enough.
I wish I could get out of the cycle of constantly being on a diet

ponygirlcurtis · 09/08/2016 16:26

It's really hard when it's just not clicking for you Squiffy. I have been there many times, trying something new might help change things up. If you are interested in LCHF (low carb high fat), there's loads of info on the low carb boards on here, and so many fab recipes. I don't class myself as being on a diet with it.

But 20k+ steps a day is bloody fantastic! Well done.

Rshard · 09/08/2016 19:14

hello you clever thing with those links!

squiffy is there a WW meeting near your workplace that you could nip to? I'm doing WW so more than happy to buddy up and offer support if that would help?

Good morning. Yesterday was busy and I didn't get time to pop back to report on the family picnic. The day was so lovely and it was good to catch up with family. The sun was out and the dc very well behaved. The picnic was a feast fit for a king, full of delights. However I was so good, in that I controlled myself. There was lots of salad and fruit so I could nibble on that without drawing attention to myself by not eating. My family really do love food.

I think without the support of this thread and knowing I would be reporting back to you lot, I would've binged. So thank you for your messages, they really do help.

The diary milk is still locked away in the cupboard, I did not touch it ! The scales were slightly down this morning, all in all a good day.

pony I have lurked on the low carb threads and followed a bootcamp a few months ago. I did really well and lost 6lbs within the first two weeks. I just find it hard to keep eating they way when cooking for family and even more so during the school holidays when meals are unplanned. It's so easy to make a pan of pasta after a day out. I need to be more organised.

Snacking is something that I can give up though. That is today's plan no snacking, non diary milk and to stay in the zone.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Helloheyhi · 10/08/2016 09:27

Rshard shout if you want to know how excited to show off my new skill Wink good luck for your WW meet tomorrow.

Belle sounds like a successful day all in all.

Groovee how is it going?

Hope everyone achieves their goal for the day and have a good one!

ponygirlcurtis · 10/08/2016 11:35

Thanks Hello, you too!

Bell the need to be really organised is the worst part, I will admit. I make a separate meal for my DCs which makes it easier (they are fussy buggers!) so I eat after they are in bed. I tend to double up so I am not cooking every night, and I will often roast a chicken so that will do me several nights with some salad or frozen veg. Plus have just rediscovered my slow cooker - pulled pork, mmmmmm! But yes, you do need to be organised.

I am taking my DCs out for a 'last day of the holidays (for me)' lunch at Frankie and Benny's so we'll see how I get on with that...

Lucked · 10/08/2016 15:44

Hey everyone, I am impressed by everyone's losses. I had a terrible weekend of eating out and wine and hangover eating (it was good fun though!).

Really proud that I got back on the horse on Monday and having an okay week but I think it will take me to the weekend to get back to were I was. It's funny but this time losing weight I am truly convinced that I will be slim, I do not feel hopeless at all, it's just a matter of time.

Helloheyhi · 11/08/2016 08:02

Morning y'all. How's everyone doing?
I have a low grade fever since yesterday so don't feel too good. I am hoping to start a squat challenge for a month from tomorrow. Anyone wishing to join me?
Hope you all have a good day.

Helloheyhi · 11/08/2016 08:06

Great attitude Lucked I also feel that it's just a matter of time.
Pony I also have to cook separate meals and it does take a bit of organisation like you said as we all eat differently as well. I find that if I do all my meal prep in the morning, it doesn't take that long to cook in the evening. I also tend to stick to simple meals.

Groovee · 11/08/2016 09:00

I stayed the same this week. Not sure why!

Rshard · 11/08/2016 11:05

Better than a gain tho groovee!

Your good luck wishes worked hello, 2.5 off for this week so just a lb away from my holiday goal with 2 weigh ins to go! hope the fever sorts itself out Flowers

That positive attitude can only do you good lucked

ponygirlcurtis · 11/08/2016 14:51

That's fantastic Rshard!

Well done for drawing that line and getting back to it, Lucked.

Hope you are feeling better Hello.

First day back at work for me. Sad Not mentally ready for it at all. I need another week at home without the kids to relax and catch up on sleep!

Bellenddingdong · 11/08/2016 20:23

Hello there my friends. Well I have been in a much better frame of mind since Monday binge sessions. I have come to the conclusion that not binging feels so much better than binging. The feeling lasts longer too. It's hard to stay in that frame if mind but I am trying. I did my usual if waking up all positive with a spring in my step and got myself to the gym for 7am. That gave me the boost I needed to stay in the zone.

I have just been eating meals and not going daft. Today was roast chicken dinner. I had loads if chicken and veg and one roast potatoe. It tasted delicious and I have been full ever since. I have no intention of eating anything else until tomorrow.

luck I am taking your wise words on board.

pony I hope work was ok.

Rshard · 11/08/2016 21:27

Thanks pony

belle so impressed with your mindset! You are so focussed! I love a chicken dinner, possible to eat healthily but not feel you're missing out. I might have to make one this Sunday!

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 11/08/2016 22:17

I haven't been disciplined enough this week. We had a bbq with friends on Sunday and all my willpower went out of the window.

Weigh in day tomorrow. I won't have lost anything and might even have put on Sad

BankWadger · 11/08/2016 22:40

Have been MIA. Was tried to pull back today, but bested by bread. All bad bread gone now though so more fruit and veg tomorrow and back to behaving.

Fuck I even chucked half a bar of bean and seed chocolate in the bin today!!!

BankWadger · 11/08/2016 22:41

Was tried? Have tried!

Helloheyhi · 12/08/2016 06:17

Thanks Rshard and Pony feeling much better than yesterday.
Pony hope your day back to work went okay.
Rshard you star you Star very very good, what a loss this week!

Groovee don't get disheartened, you will soon get the whoosh!

Good day you all

Bellenddingdong · 12/08/2016 06:50

Morning all. Another day, another picnic! Although it is just the dcs, my friend and myself so I have made it as healthy as possible. We are going for a long walk too out in the fresh air for the day.

There was no movement on th scales but I feel so much better this morning for not going mad and greedy yesterday. So much so I think I can stay in the zone today. I may not get to the gym but I may dust off my 30 day shred and give that a go. As usual my day is starting with hot water and lemon and a huge mug of green tea.

Bank what is MIA? And well done chucking the chocolate in the bin. Did it hurt? You are one brave person. I would having been routing around the bin 20 minutes later, blowing off potatoe peelings and other manky bin rubbish stuck to it and shoving it down my gob.

Well the sun is out, we are all going to be in the zone, today is going to be good.

lastqueenofscotland · 12/08/2016 07:15

Need to catch up on everything. Been shit this week but managed to lost 2.2lbs!
Motivation to refocus!!
Sorry for not posting much Blush

Squiffy01 · 12/08/2016 19:55

I feel like such a failure. Weigh in tomorrow morning and I know I will have gained my eating has been just awful this week!
I don't know why I am the complete opposite of what I should be. Getting towards a deadline or goal surely I should feel more inspired and want to really stick to healthy eating but nooo not me the closer k her to the date the more I keep shoving in my mouth Sad
Will try and get to the gym tomorrow and report back.
Everyone is doing really well, I'm impressed keep it up!

ponygirlcurtis · 12/08/2016 20:36

You are not a failure Squiffy, you have just had a challenging week. Draw a line and start fresh, it's the only way.

Work was fine thanks Hello, back to pounding those school corridors and racking up my steps! trying to find the positive Smile Glad you are feeling better.

Even managed a run at the gym this afternoon so I have calories to play with tonight. Yaay!

Bellenddingdong · 13/08/2016 09:50

Good morning, how is everybody today? Yesterday was good for me, we were out for the day but had a healthy picnic, one ice cream which did not set the munchies off and lots of walking. I think by the time we got home I was too tired to get off my bum to make anything to eat, dcs were happy eating left over picnic. And the scales were slightly down this morning. Here goes today! It's been a very early start, I have a senile cat who makes very loud feral noises at 5am. I got up with her so not to wake the rest of the house.

I have so far had green tea, how water and lemon, water melon, strawberries and grapes - that does sound healthy I am impressed with myself. Not a crunchie nut cornflake in sight!

squiffy you are not s failure, it's just so bloody hard to change habits and eating patterns. Keep at it though, I am convinced it will get easier and eating the right stuff will come naturally.

pony I am impressed with your gym session, I hope you enjoyed the extra calories.

Happy Saturday morning !
