7lbs in August anyone???

Following on from June's and July's thread, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

Starting weight for August for me is 11.10.5. This is from my WW weigh in last Wednesday which is where I ended July. 7lbs would get me to 11,3.5 just in time for my holiday.

Good luck everyone!

Worse than I thought. 13 stone 2 lbs!

Anything over 11 stone puts me at overweight so that's my goal.

Plan is at least 3 days a week fasting at 500 - 600 calories. (Would like to do ADF properly but got some things happening at the weekends so will start with this and see how it goes). Aim for 1200 the other week days and more relaxed at weekends. All logged in MFP though.

10K steps a day.

Another joiner here if you don't mind #waves#. 11st 4 lb at the moment. 7 off would be ace. I'm about to install mfp and will have a read about C25k!

hereforthecheer · 01/08/2016 09:45

Sorry - 11 stone is long term goal. Would like to have got there and enter next year stable at it.

7lbs is my minimum for the month.

BigginsforPope · 01/08/2016 10:11

Please count me in. My DM died last month and I've put on around three quarters of a stone. Really gutting as I worked hard last year to lose three stone (taking me to just over two stone overweight). So for August I am aiming to lose 7lb using mfp and exercise dvds (Fitness blender or 30 day shred).
I started to day by forcing myself out of bed early after dh left for work and straight into an exercise dvd. I am planning on exercising 4 to 5 days a week and logging everything I eat on mfp. Weekends will be more relaxed.

Sorry to hear about your DM biggins

Seems upcoming holidays and birthdays are the incentive for August!

My original goal was to get to 11,6 for my holiday as that would be a 3 stone loss since going to the same place. DH has promised me some new raybans if I do it!

I'm in, I weigh 11st. 8lbs and want to be 11st. I've lost 10lb so far but it's getting harder to shift.
I'm restricted when it comes to exercise because at the moment my gammy ankle's playing up, but I do love walking (and hate swimming 😕)

Helloheyhi · 01/08/2016 11:29

So sorry for your loss Biggins Flowers

BankWadger · 01/08/2016 11:34

Hello. 75kg this morning. Have cut back on quantities and am doing the exercises set by my physio so that in the not to distant future I can actually exercise.

Erm I'm a metric girl, 7lb is a hair over 3 kg.

LizardBreath · 01/08/2016 11:41

Me too please! I am 10st 13 7lbs by end of Aug is a good goal. Need to up excercise and eat less, if only as easy to do that as it is to type it....

I'd like to join. And stick to commenting this time too, I always try and join these threads then never check in on a daily basis, but I really want to start.

I'm 13st 9lbs and doing Slimming World. I'm struggling so far but only at the weekends - they're my downfall as I always take my family out and about and we end up eating out a lot!!

Also a self confessed chocaholic!

lastqueenofscotland · 01/08/2016 12:58

Count me in! I have scales ordered but probably not arriving till Thursday.

OutOfTime · 01/08/2016 13:32

I'm in! 10st 7 this morning and would love to be back in the 9s by September! I started losing weight a while back and am 26lb down but this last bit is a toughie!aiming for 9st

MsHeffalump · 01/08/2016 14:47

Hey, Groovee, you've got company! 282lbs this morning, which puts me at BMI 42.2 as well.

I managed to resist all biscuits and chocolate temptations after posting last night, which is a good start. I'm planning to mainly try to avoid eating great big piles of junk, and to not feel guilty about the occasional bit of junk and so writing off the whole day/week/month.

Sorry to hear about your DM bigginso

Mothersruin75 · 01/08/2016 20:51

I'm a bit late but can I join? I'll get on the scales tomorrow morning. I've lost nearly three stone since the start of the year. But I've just come back from holiday and also had a couple of slower months where I slipped a bit. I'm ready to get back to it and 7lb this month would be amazing.

I've been mfping (aim for 1200 cal a day), love my poached egg on toast for breakfast and enjoy cooking from the hairy dieters
Cook books. So far I've not done any exercise but this needs to change, I've signed up for a yoga class on Wednesday and a 5k run at the end of September so aim to start C25k this week.

BigginsforPope · 01/08/2016 22:06

Thank you for your kind words. It has really knocked me but I don't want to put anymore weight on. At the moment I am 14st 10lb. I've had a good day foodwise and exercised and walked the dogs for an hour. I have just eaten a Morrison's cookie but apart from that I have eaten sensible meals and had one snack which was a cream cracker and an apple.

Hope everyone else is fairing well!

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 01/08/2016 22:10

Can I join? I am 10 stone 6lbs so losing 7lbs would put me at under 10 stone - just - for the first time since ds1 was born 20 years ago . I was 12 stone 8 at Christmas, so have already lost quite a bit but it has already slowed right down so am not sure if 7lbs in August is achievable. I'll give it a go though

helenlove · 01/08/2016 22:27

Ooh I haven't been under 10 stone since I was at Uni 15 years ago! Am so excited to see 9 something... Nearly there! My broken toe is nearly healed now so may be able to exercise again soon. Still only able to wear flip flops!

Joolly2 · 01/08/2016 22:41

I've had a really good day food wise, no cravings and no snacking. I signed up to My Fitness Pal, but don't really know how it works. I started the day with 1200 calories. I put breakfast in and obviously the total went down, but after I went for a walk, the total calories to be consumed shot up by about 400 hundred. I've now ended the day not consuming enough. Am I doing something wrong.

Bellenddingdong · 02/08/2016 07:32

Morning all. Well yesterday went really well though to be honest my first day usually does. Normally 3-4 days in and I turn into the scary binge monster, I literally go routing in the cupboards and eat them bare. So day one was very good, there was no snacking, no binging just sensible meals, a trip to the gym and lots of walking.

So I have decided this month I am going to do a new habit a day. Yesterday's new habit was to de lurk and log onto this thread everyday. So far so good. Today's habit is to embrace the 'no S' way of eating. I am sure most of you have heard of this way of eating so I won't go on about it.

I must say waking up this morning and not feeling guilty, sluggish or bloated from the usual binge fest, is motivation in itself. I have a hop, skip and jump in my step. I just hope I can report the same feeling this time tomorrow.

Jolly MFP is a very good tool to help with the calorie counting. Your calories will adjust in accordance to what exercise you log. I do think it overestimates exercise the calories that you burn, must keep that in mind if you eat back the calories you have eaten. Depending on how you are wanting to lose weight, it's up to you weather you eat them calories back or not.

I hope that makes sense. Keep going with MFP and in a couple of days you will have it sussed.

Helloheyhi · 02/08/2016 08:05

Are we doing a weigh in every week??

Belle I can hear the sound of all things good in your words, made me feel all motivated for today.
My almost 6 month old was up at 5 this morning so I missed my run. I will try this evening when he's asleep. My husband does night shifts so I have to wait till my son is asleep which sometimes by the time he's asleep I have run out of steam.

Good day to everyone today!

Helloheyhi · 02/08/2016 08:10

Jolly I echo what Belle said. Also I am sure you know this already but you have to weigh in your foods and drinks to accurately log them. I have to tendency to underestimate calories in food which can easily trick me into believing that I am undereating when in reality I would be over! Anyway, I am sure you already know all this!
