7lbs in August anyone???

Rshard · 31/07/2016 16:48

Following on from June's and July's thread, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

Starting weight for August for me is 11.10.5. This is from my WW weigh in last Wednesday which is where I ended July. 7lbs would get me to 11,3.5 just in time for my holiday.

Good luck everyone!

My weigh-in went well - down 2.6lbs since last Monday. An excellent start, especially considering my weight loss plan is basically "stop eating junk, and stop fretting about it all the bloody time". At least at this ridiculously high weight I don't need to be too strict with myself to see the numbers ticking down on the scales!

hereforthecheer · 08/08/2016 13:00

Lost 4 lbs but think that's cause last week's starting weight included some water retention.

Going to try to get some walking in this week. Even if it's not my usual speed until my back recovers.

MsHeffalump · 08/08/2016 15:09

I always like the first week of trying to lose weight best, because of the water retention. Gives you a nice big change on the scales to start you off. Tempted to go for a walk myself, though I've just done 15km on my exercise bike (thank you all for motivating me simply by existing!). It's tricky though - my enormous thighs rub and end up painful and then I end up in a bit of a negative mental spiral because I can't even do walking right. But four circuits of the local park would make the fitbit happy...

Rshard · 08/08/2016 15:28

Fantastic losses!

hello we go away at the end of August so 3 more weigh ins! I totally mean about fitting in stuff without missing time with the dc's. I run when DD is at swimming for the same reason. Although we've been on a big walk today and caught some Pokemon!

Good luck to those weighing in later in the week

Merrily running riot with my eating for a couple of days. I'm off work for a bit and just generally trying to relax. Lots of salad in my future, but not until Thursday at least Grin

Rshard · 08/08/2016 17:33

Had a text from WW leader today - 21 weeks until Christmas, 1lb a week equals 21lbs!! A stone and a half - how fab would that be??

I'm obviously ignoring the c word bit as its August.

I will stick to around there if you will!
Time is going so fast!!!

Rshard · 08/08/2016 18:21

Bellenddingdong · 08/08/2016 21:33

Good evening everybody. Just popping in to say hello while watching the diving. We have bronze !! I have had a busy couple of days decorating and have been very busy up and down ladders, my Fitbit has gone mad with my stair climbing.

I was 2lb down on the scales today and I think it is all down to portion control. I am now 10st 12lb, I would like to be 10 st 9lb by the end of this week. It's so hard to diet or change eating habit during the school holidays so although I am eating naff, I am just eating small portions of naff.

MIL had the dcs today and when she brought them home she gave me a 300g bar of dairy milk. As she handed it over I first snatched it out of her hand and gave it a big sniff. It smelt devine, I then hid it on top of the kitchen cupboard in hope I would forget about it, out of sight out of mind and all that. I didn't forget, it wouldn't let me, it was shouting at me. I did the usual 'go on then, just one small piece'. You can all guess what happened next. I tried sharing with dh and dcs and their friend. I am not good at sharing food. I am especially not good at sharing chocolate. There is a quarter of the bar left which I have tried again to hide from myself. I feel too sick to eat anymore today. I will be full of regret and remorse tomorrow morning when I get on the scales.

Not the best start to the week but tomorrow is a new day. I will do better without the demon dairy milk shouting at me.

ponygirlcurtis · 08/08/2016 21:51

Belle I feel your pain, I have a batty neighbour who gives my boys something every time she sees them in the garden - share bags of smarties, buttons, giant dairy milk, etc, etc. My fridge is stuffed with it all! It's too too hard on the willpower. Grin

Bellenddingdong · 08/08/2016 22:12

Thank you for that pony we shall get through this together. I must try harder tomorrow. I am literally surrounded by feeders though, people love it that I love food and their mission is to feed me until I burst.

Joolly2 · 08/08/2016 22:27

Good evening everyone. There have been lots of good weigh ins, well done everyone, it just shows it can done.
I had a good look around the garage and found my weights. Unfortunately they have been there so long the neoprene grips have disintegrated!! This is not an excuse I promise. Until I can get some more I will look for my fitness dvd's. They should at least have survived my neglect. I must have at least half a dozen gathering dust somewhere. I went though a stage of buying a new one every New Year. Some even made it out the box. 😄

crje · 09/08/2016 00:23

Weight currently 11st 4 lbs
I'm starting late but I'd love to aim for 4lbs in August

My goal date is 22 oct

I'd like to be 10st 7lbs

I'm using a Fitbit & mfp

Bellenddingdong · 09/08/2016 06:51

Good morning. I feel like I have a sugar hangover today. My stomach feels heavy and bloated and I feel generally groggy. I just wish I could understand and stop the sugar bingeing . I am going to try really hard today. Just because I get bought a huge bar of chocolate it does not mean I need to eat more than half in one sitting.

I always wake up in the zone and feeling positive but as the day goes on something bizarre happens in my head and it all goes wrong. I think it's all about breaking habits.

We are going on a family picnic today with auntie, uncles, cousins and parents. There will be a massive feast of food but I intend to stay in the zone and be sensible.

It does feel better having you lot to off load to, thank you for reading.

Hope you all have a good day. I shall be reporting in later.

You can do it bell stay strong! Large gatherings are hard to handle, especially if there's loads of food. I hate it if people question why you're not having stuff or offer you naughty things even if they know you're trying to be good. My mum does this, it makes me so mad even tho she doesn't do it in a mean way

OP posts:
Helloheyhi · 09/08/2016 07:44

Belle freeze the chocolate, so each time you will be tempted you will have to defrost it first and it will give you a bit of time to really think whether you want it or not?

Wise words from my mate above ^^

Rshard · 09/08/2016 08:01

Thanks hello [blushes]

Bell I was a serial snacker when I decided to try LCHF eating two years ago (inspired by the bootcamp threads on here from BIWI) and my snacking stopped overnight, I lost that constant bloated feeling and I also stopped the huge mid-afternoon energy dips I suffered from. (I also had family raising their eyebrows at me refusing dessert at Sunday dinner, and my sister declaring 'she's still on that mad diet' at Christmas dinner Hmm).

Rshard · 09/08/2016 10:24

Comments like that aren't helpful pony!

I'm currently ignoring estonian chocolates in the office Hmm

OP posts:
ponygirlcurtis · 09/08/2016 11:09

Rshard, I could have a whole separate thread about my family and weight issues! I have a catalogue of very Shock comments from them. A lot of my eating and weight issues have been emotion-driven I think and I have done a lot of work in the last couple of years related to that - as well as the LCHF eating I found the Paul McKenna book on the subject to be helpful.

Hope you manage to resist the chocs and have something else instead!

Rshard · 09/08/2016 11:46

Good for you for overcoming them pony. It must be v hard at times!

I have resisted them - yay! Tuna salad for lunch instead - I will get to my 3 stone goal!

OP posts:
Helloheyhi · 09/08/2016 11:57

Nice lunch Rshard I love tuna. I normally make a sweet potato cake with it. Basically mash it with the potato and light fry it and have it with salad or in a bun.
I have got noodles, vegetables and chicken for lunch. Dinner will be rice, paneer and peas curry.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Helloheyhi · 09/08/2016 11:58

And of course you will make your goal, no doubt about it.
