7lbs in August anyone???

Rshard · 31/07/2016 16:48

Following on from June's and July's thread, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

Starting weight for August for me is 11.10.5. This is from my WW weigh in last Wednesday which is where I ended July. 7lbs would get me to 11,3.5 just in time for my holiday.

Good luck everyone!

I've stayed the same again. Not sure what's going wrong!

Bellenddingdong · 18/08/2016 09:03

Morning. Yesterday I had a very healthy day, I probably ate over my 500 calories which I was aiming for, but there was no bingeing and no massive portions. I didn't even feel hungry. This morning the scales were 1lb down! I hope this is an incentive to keep it up today.

Groovee I am sorry you have stayed the same. I am not sure what to advise eating wise since I seem to blag it from one day to the next. What I will suggest is to keep at it. Just getting/keeping in the zone and right frame of mind is a challenge in itself. Maybe somebody more helpful will be along with some tips. Keep at it and keep posting in the meantime.

Helloheyhi · 18/08/2016 09:30

Well done Belle
Groovee at least you haven't gained, please don't get disheartened, soon enough you will see a loss, hopefully a big one.

Rshard good luck for your weigh in today, keep us posted.

I weighed in at 65.5kg this morning so that's my 3 stones loss. I have been all off kilter last week and this week so not sure whether it's a true reflection of my weight. I will weigh in again on sunday and take it from there. Almost half way through the month so lets see how the rest fares.

Good day to everyone!

Rshard · 18/08/2016 11:34

Well done hello! That's so brilliant.

I've stayed the same, probably because I've done hardly any exercise as I've strained my achilles. I'm disappointed but I've still another week until my holiday.

To be honest my head has been in a funny place, I think I've got too fixated with this 3 stone before my holiday which is totally not like me at all! However DH has reminded me that it is just an arbitrary target that I've set myself and to remember how far I've gone. A wise and lovely man!

That was a bit of self absorbed post. Sorry.

Ouch Rshard that must be really painful. You need to focus on getting it better so plenty of rest is recommended for you young lady!

You are what a pound away from the 3 stone mark? You will get there in no time at all. Just see how far you have come on your journey so a pound is nothing. As you well know weight loss is rarely linear and some weeks there's a complete stagnation on the losses and then there's a sudden losses of a couple of pounds. Don't get disappointed as you are doing everything else right, you are 100% losing fat even when you are not losing weight. Water retention (due to fat loss, glycogen stores, increased cortisol, etc.) makes your weight stay the same even as your body is pulling apart the contents of your fat cells for energy. Poop, urine, and muscle gains can all increase or stall your scale weight even as your body is gobbling up previously stored fatty acids. You are doing it right, just remember the fat loss that isn't always showing up on the scale is a lot more important than the weight loss that is (or isn't).

Your husband speaks wise words indeed, just look how far you have come. You are doing very well, keep at it. Wasn't self absorbed at all Flowers

Rshard · 18/08/2016 12:19

Thanks hello x

Not at all Flowers X

ponygirlcurtis · 18/08/2016 15:11

Well done Bell! And Hello, that brilliant. And I totally agree with everything you say about it not being linear, this is why I weigh every day so I can see how up and down it is. It will come Rshard, nearly 3 stones is amazing. (But I know it's frustrating wanting to reach that milestone when the scales won't shift!)

Groovee I suspect you will get a sudden whoosh at some point.

Helloheyhi · 18/08/2016 20:26

How's it going Pony?
I ended up doing a whopping 24,766 steps today, only because it was boiling hot in the tube so ended up walking. I made a garlic, mushrooms, butter and cream cheese pate with toasts for dinner, which my 6 months old ended up eating half of so now we both have stinking garlicky breaths Grin

Good night y'all.

Rshard · 18/08/2016 20:58

Thanks pony

hello love, love, love that your little one such a sophisticated palate at 6 months old!

Helloheyhi · 19/08/2016 07:12

Grin Rshard he will eat anything moans constantly if we don't share food with him
5 days off for me from today, so looking forward to spend more time with him. How old is your dd?

Have a good day everyone!

Rshard · 19/08/2016 08:29

Oh bless him! He sounds just like my DD who has just turned 11. She still eats absolutely everything, it's great.

Hello everybody. The posts on here are lovely, it's a good thread to be on. Very supportive and non judgemental. It's really does help knowing I am going to have a chat with you lot about this things are going.

I seem to be still focused. I had a little word with myself in the gym today about paying for the membership, having a good workout, it's really not worth going home and stuffing my face with naff food. I just need to stay in this frame of mind now.

Hope you all have a good day.

ponygirlcurtis · 19/08/2016 14:40

Wow that is a huge number of steps Hello! I have never made it up to 20k in one day, think over 15k was my most.

Wish my DS (11 in just over 4 months) would eat more like your DD, Rshard! He ate anything as a baby too, not sure what went wrong!

Well done on staying focused Bell - I agree about the thread helping, I really want to be able to come on and report a loss so that has made me walk away from eating more on several occasions.

Busy busy week being back in school. But the double benefit is being kept busy (ie no access to food) and walking back and forth to the photocopier really stacked up the steps! Smile

Bellenddingdong · 20/08/2016 07:48

Morning

Another slight loss on the scales this morning! I am still there in the zone which is very unusual for me. There was a wham bar sat on the dining table last night. I very nearly just automatically ate it instead of putting it in the sweet tin. My natural reaction was to eat it, which I never did, I remembered just in time that I am not eating naff. I know it's only a wham bar but those buggers lead to me being head first in the sweet tin, munching away until I feel dreadful. I had a few grapes instead ! Yeah !

Hope you all have a good day and stay in the zone. I will report back.

Helloheyhi · 20/08/2016 08:49

Thanks for that Rshard any improvement on your heel?
That was a total one off for me pony. I had some time to kill between work so I racked up the steps! How's the weekend going?
Belle you have motivated me to get back into the zone as yesterday was a complete write off for me.
I agree this thread is motivating me to stick to my goals. Hopefully we can all carry on in September too.

Have a lovely day everyone. It's grim here with the rain!

Rshard · 20/08/2016 15:10

Well done bell!

It's feeling a lot better hello, thanks for asking. I bought a support and am venturing out for a short test run later.

Very windy here in the East Midlands

ponygirlcurtis · 20/08/2016 15:34

Wet and wild here too so have been to the swimming pool with DS2 - going round and round in the current pool is not quite the same as doing lengths but still fairly tiring so have added it as exercise on MFP. Smile

Rshard · 20/08/2016 18:13

Definitely pony! Those pools are hard work.
DD and I have been messing about playing volleyball on the garden, we're pretty rubbish but my fit bit recognised it as sport! I'm taking that!

Ankle survived a 2k run so happy

OP posts:
ponygirlcurtis · 20/08/2016 22:07

They are Rshard! Especially with a 4-year-old in armbands who you need to stay beside at all times but who wants some independence.

Volleyball in the garden sounds great fun (and extra calories burned off). And that's good your ankle was ok on your run.

Helloheyhi · 21/08/2016 11:20

Love reading what you and pony been up to Rshard
Awesome that your ankle is on the mend & you managed a run. Testament to your strength on not giving up, I am very impressed.
pony I agree any movement is better than sitting still and should count as exercise! Trying to control a 4 years old in water that's extra exertion and def counts Grin

My weight is 65kg, I am hoping to make 64 by the end of this month. I won't make the 7 pounds goal but should come close. Any loss is better really. Tomorrow is my birthday, I will be a grand old age of 34, feel ancient now Grin so I am writing tomorrow off.

Hope everyone is having a good day Flowers

Rshard · 21/08/2016 16:33

Thanks hello and a very happy birthday for tomorrow Flowers! 34, you're a youngster really!

After 4 days with my foot elevated and more than a few painkillers I appear to be mended. I thought after all that inactivity I would have put on a bit of weight, so I was pleased this morning to find I have stayed the same. I will have to do some serious eating/exercise next week to get back on track.
Well done to everyone who has had a loss this week, be it big or small.

Groovee · 21/08/2016 19:08

Ouch Rshard.

Have been good and doing more walking. Lots of water too x

Rshard · 21/08/2016 20:01

Glad your foot is feeling better +kooly* Gave my Achilles another little run this afternoon and its feeling ok!

Well done groovee
