A weight loss thread for just eating less

hello all
short version

have tried to lose weight a few times!

going for the "eating less" approach. Had a long weekend break, now starting in earnest with the hope of a boot camp style month.

I don't eat a huge amount of junk, but nonetheless want to tackle my sweet tooth as it certainly doesn't help with anything. I only have sugar free jelly in the house to eat now if I have the urge for something sweet - I've learned from experience that if I have no options at all, I will just start eating anything.

I am also trying to eat less - smaller meals, in some cases not 3 meals a day because I don't always need that.

it is a casual approach but I find calorie counting etc really boring. I walk a lot and do some weight training and yoga so all good on that front.

anyone fancy joining me? I think it would be nice to check in once a day just to say "I haven't overeaten" and share it with someone!

how's everyone doing?
I spent the whole week trying to chase away a bug, it blatantly hasn't worked and I had to take yesterday and today off.

totally off my food though!!

IM 5,5 and have gone from 14st 7 to 13,10 since I started college a month ago. I've just been eating less.

My problem before was I don't eat regularly so I get really hungry and then just eat whatever I can get my hands on, usually bread, biscuits, leftovers!

So having some routine in my day has forced me to eat breakfast , lunch and dinner, with no snacking, and I've purposely been avoiding the chocolate and puddings, which are my biggest downfall!

I'm really pleased and hope it continues to come off!

well done Kiki!

I have an issue with that - sometimes I don't recognise that I've got too hungry and then eat too much.

anyway I still have this lurgy so have miraculously lost 2.5lb in 2 days. Yes I did weigh myself out of curiosity - apparently this is what happens when you only eat a couple of crackers and a bit of soup!

If only I could manage that when healthy Grin

am I alone again in the weight loss world?

Doing much better this week. Though guess what - I had my Pill check today and they didn't weigh me!!!

I want to take it up a notch now and get 2lb a week off coming up to Xmas. I reckon it can be done. A lot of this has been about resisting at work and it's now the case that people are starting to go "do you want a bisc...oh you don't eat these any more do you". Grin

Hi I am still here. I am STILL battling the same two pounds as I was a couple of weeks ago! But yes losing a few more pounds by Xmas sounds like a jolly good plan. Lets go for it!
I am a bit of a groove now but getting a little complacent so I will try and focus a bit more.

Lorelei76 · 13/10/2016 15:27

humble, I don't know if this will help but I've been where you are, when I started trying about a year ago. Battling the same two pounds is a thing because a) it means what you're doing isn't really working and b) it means you do the hard mental work of trying to eat better but don't have consistent loss.

Once I realised I was working but not getting the result, I got more motivated and was more careful.

that does make a lot of sense, I just need to pull it together a bit and push on through. Smile

wore some trousers I've not been able to wear for ages - well they were slightly too tight around the middle.

speaking of which I have decided to add Pilates to the regime. normally on a Monday night I just lie on the sofa and go "uggggggggggh" but it's on at the gym now and I thought it's a good Monday night option.

hope it's good, we had one lady who was fab and one who was awful. Makes such a difference.
